The Dominion of Al Seran is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Autarch with an iron fist, and notable for its compulsory military service, otherworldly petting zoo, and ubiquitous missile silos. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 26.876 billion Al Seranians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The tiny, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Archopolis. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Al Seranian economy, worth a remarkable 9,042 trillion neomarks a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Information Technology, and Book Publishing. Average income is an amazing 336,465 neomarks, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 1,458,501 per year while the poor average 49,288, a ratio of 29.6 to 1.

Water fights now end with thousands dead, most people attending churches are maintenance workers, people make a career out of medical voyeurism, and Autarch lights cigars with a hundred-neomark bill. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Al Seran's national animal is the tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is a major religion.

Al Seran is ranked 7,268th in the world and 180th in the Rejected Realms for Most Patriotic, with 75.7 flags saluted per person per day.
