SpireFell: A Society For The Aleckandorean Elite

The Fellowship Of The Fortressing Spires, usually abbreviated as SpireFell, is a highly exclusive but mysteriously low-profile cross-cultural geopolitical think tank/club whose members consist of Aleckandor's most powerful political, military, industrial, financial, scientific, media, and academic elites. Its name is a subtle allusion to the Colossal Fortress-Monastery Of Gênnzúhbänd — an utterly massive black stone castle and Nathqriowzhan religious pilgrimage complex from Nord Yervhennian antiquity that once stood in its complete form in the middle of the Akowitahn Valley, where the Confederate capital of Bandommonita is now positioned. The only way for one to be permitted entry into the club is to be invited, and the only way to get officially inducted is for at least 5 other members to personally and explicitly vouch for a worthy candidate's entry. There are no dedicated facilities where the group's meetings, panels, or committee functions can be conducted; instead, members are expected to meet with and communicate between one another privately in-person or from over long distances. The think tank does have an insignia: a shiny black spear-shaped tower superimposed upon a circular dark crimson background with a white lightning bolt coming down from the heavens, illuminating one side of the tower. Few rarely ever see the symbol though, but there are times when certain Aleckandorean public figures who are members have occasionally worn small pinned medallions which depict it. SpireFell can be described as an organization dedicated largely to intellectual discourse on topics of foreign policy, speculative macroeconomics, semiotic analysis, and core philosophical values because it runs a number of anonymously-updated ad hoc print and online publications dedicated to the dissemination of work upon those subjects. Media observers and watchdog groups both from inside the Confederacy itself and outside of it often infer that the Fellowship is essentially at the heart of all the driving forces behind Aleckandor's worldwide ambitions and its actions produced thereof; many claim that it is rather alarming to know that such a large part of the Confederacy's highest echelons belong to this mysterious group which claims it was founded by an obscure familial lieutenant of the prominent House Of Rênvhídáwrz sometime in 2001. Conspiracy theorists from outside the realm go further as to claim that SpireFell is not only an essentially aristocratic cabal of people possessing immense material wealth, social influence, esoteric knowledge, and personal skill that serve as the base for Aleckandor's true government, but is actually part of a much older body or council that was operating even long before the cataclysmic war of liberation which ultimately founded Aleckandor in AD 1992 and only revealed its existence slightly once Aleckandor established itself as a burgeoning superstate by the end of the new millennium's first decade. The conspiracy theorists, of course, have little direct evidence to back up their claims, especially those of a particular slant which suspects that Aleckandor's inception and ongoing proliferation throughout the world today may actually be the result of a significantly ancient yet still continuing project that aims to physically arm and spiritually prepare a choice number of similarly-minded human culture-groups and civilization-states for some unknown but ostensibly enormous global event in the future...
