Lands of Anathema Armaments Volume I: Hollow Dusk

Welcome intrepid reader, this is your friendly guide to the lands of Anathema Armaments. Starting from this volume, we will be working our way from the capital city into the factory districts and beyond into the coasts. This will give you an informative view on the nation as a whole and its environment! Let's begin!

Hollow Dusk: Capital of Anathema Armaments

The Dome of Hollow Dusk

Hollow Dusk is situated in the center of the island, surrounded by the life supporting dome that covers the entire city. The dome was constructed during the opening years of Anathema Armaments existence to support the factory workers and their families while the workers were outside the dome in the factory areas. The reason for the dome was simple; to protect the people of Anathema Armaments from the harsh radiation and toxic chemicals in the air outside. The dome is a massive concrete, plastic and plexiglass structure towering 20 kilometers into the sky and taking up a third of the land space of the island.

What is within the Dome?

The dome is split into 3 sectors as follows;

The Housing Sector

This is the central piece of the dome, the housing district grants the home owners a distinctive and exclusive place to live if they have the Matériel Credits to afford such a lifestyle. It is the only place to live within the dome in Hollow Dusk and supplies the population with all that is required to survive. Free, Clean and Pure drinking water is supplied to all homes, Air filtration systems are installed at the roof of the dome to expel pollution from homes and food is readily available for delivery from the central computer unit in every home. The river running in the center of the sector offers transport to the other sectors if walking is out of the question (which it should be, it's a very very long walk). Only registered Citizens and VIP visitors may enter this part of the city under strict authority.

The Shopping Sector

Surrounding the Housing Sector is the Shopping Sector, an unbelievably large, 5 story doughnut shaped sector that supplies both citizens and visitors with the finest goods manufactured right here in Anathema Armaments. Here you'll find Bars selling the finest beverages from home and abroad, specialist good stores with products made in the factories outside the dome, cinemas with films made in the dome as well as foreign films, and military and police boxes for inquiries and protection. Usually events occur within the 4 central points in each direction of the sector. Details can be found at most information booths or ask your tour guide if you accompanied a tour. This sector is open at all hours, everyday of the year.

The Seaside Metropolis

This is the final sector, found on the outskirts at the edge of the dome in every direction except to the north where the entrance and exit tunnel is located. Here is where the night clubs, bars and artificial beaches can be found. The waters along the beaches are purified and crystal clear, the nightclubs and bars are hotspots for citizens and tourists while hotels dot the scenery to facilitate tourists and citizens too drunk to make it home in one trip. Crime is most prevalent in this part of the city and it's strongly advisable to travel in groups where possible or hiring Anathema Armaments mercenaries as body guards. Common crimes include petty theft, robbery and assault and are often targeted towards visitors from outside Anathema Armaments. Mercenaries for hire can be found in the Shopping Sector and at outposts around the hotels in this sector. Be prepared, be alert and watch out for yourself while enjoying your time in this sector. Lastly, the dome is completely covered in LCD screens and neon lights out at sea to prevent seeing the ugly factories that line the outside of the dome, all for your comfort and visual pleasure.

Fauna, Flora and the Environement within Hollow Dusk

Lush grassy fields and trees are common within the dome. Most housing has a vast strip of flora amongst personal gardens. Waters are clear and purified, even in the water strip in the central housing district, ready to drink even with the boats operating in it*(*I personally would not touch it, just to be safe...but the options there). Within the Shopping Sector trees and clear water fountains are extremely common and tropical trees dot the landscape on the beaches in the Seaside Metropolis Sector. The air quality is divine, thanks to the air filtration systems that cover the dome and protect the capital from the toxic air outside. Unfortunately efforts to sustain animal life has been proven to be unprofitable or unrealistic, only a few animals have been deemed to have achieved a respectable quality of life within the dome. All manner of bird life can be seen in the Shopping and Seaside Metropolis Sectors while the Housing Sector enjoys honey bees pollinating trees and flowers. Frogs are also common in the Seaside Metropolis and Housing Sectors. Household pets are also quite a common sight in the Housing Sector with Cat, Dogs, Snakes, Fish and Spiders being marked as popular according to pet store owners.
