The Democratic Empire of Arkalarius is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Kaiser Hans Von Ark with an even hand, and renowned for its frequent executions, ubiquitous missile silos, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 1.667 billion Arkians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Arkus. The average income tax rate is 32.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Arkian economy, worth 72.8 trillion Arks a year, is quite specialized and led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry, with major contributions from Soda Sales, Cheese Exports, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 43,644 Arks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Ambitious "businessmen" use their children to sell and advertise their products, religious bigotry is not allowed but bigotry against theism is encouraged, the Father of the House has been in office just shy of a fortnight, and satellite images show safe electoral constituencies in complete darkness. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Arkalarius's national animal is the Peregrine Falcon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Arkalarius is ranked 118,765th in the world and 4,798th in The East Pacific for Largest Agricultural Sector, scoring -4 on the Mu-Bah-Daggs Productivity Index.
