The Kingdom of Auralon is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by King Faustus with an iron fist, and notable for its enslaved workforce, irreverence towards religion, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 6.587 billion Auralonians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 91.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Auralonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,189 trillion golds a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing and Tourism. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 180,626 golds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Picnickers are lucky if a few wasps are the only animals that trouble them, King Faustus is described as an everyday person with normal tastes and the usual interests, small shoes often wash up on the beach, and military information leaks are **REDACTED** by **REDACTED** in **REDACTED**. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Auralon's national animal is the cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Auralon is ranked 45,403rd in the world and 1,688th in Lazarus for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 4,059.38 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
