The Mechanism of Cult of Extinction is a colossal, efficient nation, remarkable for its closed borders, compulsory vegetarianism, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 8.714 billion human resources are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government is dominated by the Department of Defense, although Spirituality, Industry, and Law & Order are also considered important, while Environment and Welfare aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of the End. The average income tax rate is 92.0%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient utilized economy, worth a remarkable 2,793 trillion credits a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, fairly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Retail. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an amazing 320,530 credits, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Citizens are frequently searched for illegal weapons, tie-dye has been outlawed for being 'too occult', strange looking men with big red noses are found hiding behind bushes and inside dustbins, and the local custom of Biking With The Cars sends tourists home bemused or in body-bags. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cult of Extinction's national animal is the rat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is the great machine.

Cult of Extinction is ranked 243rd in the world and 1st in Island of Extinction for Most Advanced Defense Forces, scoring 50,188.2 on the Total War Preparedness Rating.
