The Most Serene Republic of Delight is a colossal, efficient nation, notable for its daily referendums, absence of drug laws, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, democratic population of 6.32 billion Delightists are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The enormous, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Education, Environment, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Elathuria. The average income tax rate is 82.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Delightian economy, worth 528 trillion Brass Buttons a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism and Book Publishing. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 83,592 Brass Buttons, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Sales of pregnancy testing kits are booming, power stations shutting down at night has made bedtime reading tricky, vast amounts of energy are expended moving water to hilltop lakes, and bars are packed at all hours. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Delight's national animal is the Death Meadow Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Delight is ranked 189,250th in the world and 5,423rd in the Rejected Realms for Most Primitive, scoring -248.52 on the Scary Big Number Scale.
