The Federation of Democratic States of South Vietnam is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Tran with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, compulsory military service, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic population of 1.627 billion South Vietnamese are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Saigon. The average income tax rate is 76.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient South Vietnamese economy, worth 144 trillion rongs a year, is quite specialized and led by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Cheese Exports, and Woodchip Exports. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 88,843 rongs, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.0 times as much as the poorest.

Women who walk into the ladies' changing room are accused of being Peeping Toms, stealing from a clothesline is a serious offence, religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else, and the standardised national curriculum requires that all-male classes be taught why they have periods. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Democratic States of South Vietnam's national animal is the Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Democratic States of South Vietnam is ranked 22,406th in the world and 28th in The Order of the Grey Wardens for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 218.42 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
