The Whatevers of DiRito-Opolis is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by whoever with a fair hand, and notable for its ritual sacrifices, frequent executions, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, humorless, devout population of 7.196 billion whatevers are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, corrupt, pro-business government, or what there is of one, is effectively ruled by the Department of Industry, with Law & Order also on the agenda, while Welfare and Environment aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of wherever. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient whatever economy, worth a remarkable 1,639 trillion whatevers a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Uranium Mining, and Soda Sales. Average income is an amazing 227,828 whatevers, but there is a vast disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 2,116,297 per year while the poor average 2,274, a ratio of 930 to 1.

Heartwarming sentiments are even hotter now, East Lebatuckese luxury goods are plundered by the working class of DiRito-Opolis, high school career advisors advise belligerent loners to consider vigilantism, and people are bored of easy crossword puzzles. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. DiRito-Opolis's national animal is the whatever, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is whatever.

DiRito-Opolis is ranked 4,416th in the world and 2nd in Ridgefield for Highest Average Incomes, with 227,828.79 Standard Monetary Units.
