The United Kingdom of Enos Biestadgeed is a huge, cultured nation, renowned for its state-planned economy, frequent executions, and smutty television. The democratic, devout population of 285 million Enos love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The large, socially-minded, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Defense, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nova Palasia. The average income tax rate is 45.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Biestadgeedian economy, worth 11.7 trillion dollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Book Publishing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 41,096 dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Maxtopian villagers starve by the time Biestadgeedian officials even file the appropriate paperwork needed to help them, the Biestadgeedian Intelligence Agency relies on internet search engines to know what is happening overseas, Enos Biestadgeed has designated Nova Palasia as its capital city, and giggling elementary school newspaper reporters want to know why Leader is a silly poophead. Crime, especially youth-related, is moderate, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Enos Biestadgeed's national animal is the lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Enos Biestadgeed is ranked 243,089th in the world and 563rd in 10000 Islands for Largest Basket Weaving Sector, scoring -2.9 on the Hickory Productivity Index.
