The Dude Abides of I 5 is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by Eisenhower with an iron fist, and notable for its triple-decker prams, ubiquitous missile silos, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 2.116 billion Highwaymen are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Industry, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sacramento. The average income tax rate is 54.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Roadworthy economy, worth 216 trillion tolls a year, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 102,110 tolls, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.3 times as much as the poorest.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been banned for advocating gluttony, nano-Suburbans are the current fad sweeping the nation, the education system is being cleansed of all corporate influence, and pristine wilderness has been trashed in the quest for cheaper oil. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. I 5's national animal is the Suburban, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Constructionist.

I 5 is ranked 36,855th in the world and 2nd in California for Most Influential, scoring 598 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
