The Federal Republic of Macrodia is a very large, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its avant-garde cinema, digital currency, and state-planned economy. The hard-nosed, democratic population of 149 million Macrodians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 69.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but sluggish Macrodian economy, worth 3.02 trillion Rand a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Tourism, Furniture Restoration, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 20,267 Rand, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Any body part that can be cut off a person is no longer considered to be their property, emojis are the soul of wit, families waiting for delayed pipe installations hope daily for rain, and the government awards prizes to television shows featuring stereotype-breaking minority roles. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Macrodia's national animal is the Axolotl but big, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans.

Macrodia is ranked 76,048th in the world and 3,951st in The North Pacific for Highest Drug Use, scoring 67.2 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
