The Republic of MegaTokyo-3 is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and notable for its pith helmet sales, vat-grown people, and complete lack of prisons. The hard-nosed, hard-working, humorless population of 37.172 billion Meganians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The minute government, or what there is of one, is dominated by the Department of Education, with Law & Order also on the agenda, while Spirituality and International Aid receive no funds. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Meganian economy, worth an astonishing 19,691 trillion nu-yens a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Woodchip Exports, and Automobile Manufacturing. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is a breathtaking 529,749 nu-yens, with the richest citizens earning 5.1 times as much as the poorest.

Noises louder than a whisper have been prohibited by law, trust-fund babies line up for places in community college, people often feel unbalanced by their daily commute, and contestants on MegaTokyo-3's Got Talent are screened by the government to make sure that they actually have talent. Crime, especially youth-related, is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. MegaTokyo-3's national animal is the dove, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

MegaTokyo-3 is ranked 95,022nd in the world and 1st in The Continent of ReC for Most Pro-Market, scoring 49.89 on the Rand Index.
