The Dictatorship of Monkyape is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Joseph with an iron fist, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies, prohibition of alcohol, and zero percent divorce rate. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 1.372 billion Apes are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Troll Town. The average income tax rate is 72.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Monkyapean economy, worth 96.6 trillion Apes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, quite specialized black market in Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Tourism. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 70,380 Apes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, embittered former nobles desperately try to cling on to their noblesse oblige and their heads, dark net forums trade the encryption keys to immortality, and police drones follow every suspected Peeping Tom. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Monkyape's national animal is the Polar Bear, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities, and its national religion is Cult of Joseph.

Monkyape is ranked 63,925th in the world and 1,692nd in Osiris for Most Extreme, scoring 28.57 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
