The United States of New WarState is a huge, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, digital currency, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 622 million guns and shians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The relatively small government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Spirituality, Law & Order, and Public Transport also on the agenda, while International Aid and Welfare are ignored. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 16.1%.

The strong New WarStatean economy, worth 32.8 trillion guns a year, is led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Gambling. Average income is 52,708 guns, with the richest citizens earning 5.9 times as much as the poorest.

The standard government reply to any query is "there is no spoon", foreigners are treated with great suspicion, foreign leaders' Twitcher accounts are monitored for potential threats to national security, and mandatory electronic currency is a boon for credit card companies and government surveillance. Crime, especially youth-related, is relatively low, thanks to a capable police force. New WarState's national animal is the eagle with a gun.

New WarState is ranked 245,775th in the world and 3,576th in The East Pacific for Largest Automobile Manufacturing Sector, scoring -4.47 on the Henry Ford Productivity Index.
