The Soviet Republic of Petrovovic is a massive, safe nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, rampant corporate plagiarism, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, cynical population of 2.312 billion Petrovians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Petrovograd. The average income tax rate is 59.8%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Petrovovician economy, worth 41.3 trillion Rubels a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Uranium Mining industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 17,848 Rubels, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Funeral directors are frequently looking at their watches during funerals, economic planning is exalted as a human art form, traumatised refugees have a full bedpan shoved into their hands along with their immigration papers, and the endangered saltwater humpback Black Bear is only seen in captivity programs. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Petrovovic's national animal is the Black Bear, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Petrovovic is ranked 164,293rd in the world and 28th in Deutschland for Lowest Overall Tax Burden, scoring 21.27 on the Hayek Index.
