The Most Serene Republic of Ruyilala is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Ruyi the Regal with an iron fist, and notable for its rum-swilling pirates, vat-grown people, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 4.194 billion Ruyilalans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Miyabi. The average income tax rate is 69.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Ruyilalan economy, worth 237 trillion kudos a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing and Basket Weaving. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 56,671 kudos, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The letters L, G, and B must never be grouped together, citizens are required to report any and all incidents of prayer to their local Religious Affairs Officer, motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, and those found guilty of illicit affairs are jailed. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ruyilala's national animal is the everwrit tail, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is The Church of Lue Reeq.

Ruyilala is ranked 272,902nd in the world and 9,451st in Lazarus for Most Stationary, with 9.381591218 days.
