The Republic of Sansui is a colossal, safe nation, renowned for its rum-swilling pirates, feral children, and restrictive gun laws. The compassionate, cheerful population of 8.021 billion Sansuians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Environment, Industry, and Law & Order. The income tax rate is 100%.

The frighteningly efficient Sansuian economy, worth a remarkable 1,636 trillion currencies a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Retail industry, with significant contributions from Gambling and Information Technology. State-owned companies are the norm. Average income is an amazing 204,053 currencies, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Tabloids publicly shun nurses for not calling home on the weekends, government bureaucrats devote many man-hours to trying to measure unquantifiables, the nation is in perpetual campaign mode, and goldfish bowls are three metres in diameter. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sansui's national animal is the animal, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Sansui is ranked 329,511th in the world and 62nd in Vickenian experiment incubator for Largest Timber Woodchipping Industry, scoring -52.74 on the Tasmanian Pulp Environmental Export Index.
