An Alternate History Provided by AI Dungeon

Japan, having been rebuilt by the United States, was never allowed a conventional military. That was, until 1972, when,
against the wishes of the United States, it brung back its army and went into Vietnam to aid its allies. The war lasted for
five years, but in 1975, after heavy losses on both sides, the North Vietnamese Army surrendered unconditionally.

The following year saw the signing of the Paris Peace Accords which brought an end to fighting between South Vietnam and
North Vietnam.

In 1976, Japan's economy had grown at an average rate of 2.5% per annum since the end of World War II, but that all changed in 1979 when the oil crisis hit.

By 1980, the Japanese government decides to help the National Front. They do this by sending money and supplies, as well as
training their members in various skills such as medicine, engineering and other fields. In return, they get political
support from them.

After the revolution, Japan becomes one of the few nations to recognize the new regime. By 1982, Japan has become a very
wealthy country again. Its economy grows faster than any other nation's, and it is now considered one of the top countries
in Asia.

To continue prospering, it begins investing in more Asian nations, starting in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Its mindset is that, if they are able to get these nations to prosper, the trade between these nations will make Japan even richer. It continues to invest in these nations, building factories and research facilities so that they can better compete with the
rest of the world. It also sends people there to teach them how to produce things like electronics and pharmaceuticals.

However, this aid has caught the attention of the communist powers, including the Soviets and Chinese. China wanted revenge against Japan from the start, not only because of their loss in the Vietnam War, but also because of the destruction Japan caused during World War 2. The Soviets didn't like Japan stablizing nations that it was planning on starting communist revolutions in. They sent spies to infiltrate Japan and learn everything about it. After learning about the aid given to the National Front, they decided that if anything happened to Japan, then Russia would be next. They began bombing Japan's cities and started sending troops across the Pacific Ocean.

World War 3 broke out in 1985, and it wasn't just the Soviet Union that was involved. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
joined in as well, and with their help, they were successful in destroying Japan's forces.

Using Japan as a base of operations, the Chinese send troops across the Pacific to attack American bases. Meanwhile, the Soviets focus most of their attention on the European front. This battle took place in 1986, and it was a major victory for the Communists. However, it was also a huge defeat for the Americans. The Americans lost many soldiers and aircraft in this battle, but they managed to hold off the attacks.

China continued to send aid to North Korea and the Vietcong, which began attacking South Korea and Vietnam, respectively.
This caused a lot of problems for the Americans, who could no longer fight both wars simultaneously.

As South Korea and Vietnam fall to the communists, America soon finds itself embroiled in a civil war. The Civil War in America was a big problem for the Americans. Many of their citizens sided with either the Republicans or Democrats, but they couldn't win due to lack of resources and manpower.

In 1987, the Russians conquered most of Western Europe. They did this by taking over Norway and Sweden, while taking control of Denmark and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Russia focused its attention on Iran. It invaded that country in 1988, where it found an unprepared population.

Iran held off the Soviets for awhile, but eventually they managed to take control of the entire country. The Iranians fought
back valiantly, but ultimately failed in defending their homeland. The Americans meanwhile were having a hard time holding off the Red Army.

With the help of Canada and Mexico, the Americans managed to push back the Red Army. In 1989, America won a great victory when they defeated the Red Army at Stalingrad. After this victory, the two sides worked together once more to stop Russia from invading North America.

Mexico successfully overthrew the governments of Guatemala and El Salvador, which led to the downfall of those countries as
well. With these new powers in hand, Mexico begins to expand into Central America and the Caribbean.

However, there was still one nation that remained loyal to communism: Cuba.

America allowed the Mexicans to do what they wanted in these areas, and they joined up with Mexico to invade Cuba.
Unfortunately, Fidel Castro didn't die peacefully like he should have. He died during his invasion of Miami, Florida.

Cuba finally falls to the combined effort of the Americans and Mexicans. With Cuba out of the way, American forces land in Southern Iran to aid it in its resistance against Soviet occupation. Iran was liberated. The Soviets however were
not done yet. They sent a second wave of troops to invade Southern Iran. They landed in southern Iran, where they faced off against the Americans and Mexican forces.

Thanks to American support, Iran was able to withstand the second Soviet invasion, and with it, Iran was free. The Americans and Mexicans then joined forces to attack the Soviets in Central America. However, the Soviets were prepared
for such an assault.

Using the support of Cuban rebels, Soviet forces stationed in Nicaragua were able to hold off the American and Mexican
assault. This resulted in a stalemate between the two sides.

With the stalemate in Central America underway, British and Canadian forces prepare a D-Day style invasion of Soviet-occupied France. Britain and Canada are ready to invade France, which would result in the liberation of Western Europe from
Communism. Unfortunately, the Soviets decide to counterattack. A massive force of ground troops under General Ivan Zatopek attacks Britain and Canada's positions in Northern France.

British and Canadian forces fight the Soviets to a stand-still, but it was only thanks to American forces landing on the
shores of France that they managed to turn the stalemate in favor of the Allies. The Soviets however had other plans.

Communist revolutions occur in Brazil, Peru, and Argentina. These events lead to the fall of the governments of all three
nations.

In Venezuela, a coup d'etat takes place by members of the Venezuelan military who believe that Hugo Chavez has become too
authoritarian.

As Venezuela breaks down, Brazil begins invading its neighbouring countries. In Argentina, a civil war occurs between left
wing and right wing factions over power.

Brazilian forces take control of Paraguay and Uruguay before moving onto Chile. There they face off against Chilean troops
defending the country from invasion.

Chilean troops defend their nation from the invasion, but eventually succumb to the pressure. After a short battle, Chile is
conquered by Brazilian and Soviet forces. The Soviets also send another force to occupy Bolivia, but this time they are successful.

With most of South America under communist rule, the Soviets use the continent as a base in order to launch an attack on
North America. This attack results in the destruction of New York City and Washington DC.

America attempts to hold out against the invasion, but ultimately fails. The United States falls into the hands of the
communists and Mexico falls after a brief conflict between leftist and right wing factions. Canada meanwhile is invaded by Soviet forces who conquer much of northern Canada including Montreal.

After destroying most of the major threats to them, the Soviets begin peace negotiations with Britain. It is during these talks that they agree to a cease fire. The Americans have been fighting for years without any end in sight.

With the war now over, the Americans refuse to live under communist rule and leave Russia. They are welcomed back by Britain where they are greeted warmly. The Cold War ends.

China continues to punish Japan severely for causing them pain and misery for the past hundred years. Thousands of Japanese civilians are slaughtered by the Chinese military. Japan is forced to pay reparations and is forced to build up its own economy again. It becomes a prosperous nation once more.

The two superpowers decide to invest heavily in Japan, hoping it will help them rebuild their economies. This works and
Japan's economy improves greatly. However, Japan is still a developing nation so it doesn't become fully developed until many decades later.

By 2050, Japan's economy, despite being communist, is thriving.

In 2060s, Japan has become one of the wealthiest nations on Earth. Its people enjoy a high standard of living and its
government enjoys a strong grip on things thanks to its new found wealth.

Despite having a stronger economy than Japan, the Soviet Union and China continue to struggle financially due to their old
communist governments. They attempt to reform themselves into capitalist countries, but fail miserably. By the year 2140, both countries are bankrupt and collapse.

Japan adopts capitalism after the fall of the Soviet Union and China. Capitalism allows Japan to prosper once again. Its economy grows rapidly and its population lives a life of luxury.

Thanks to space developments by the communists in the early 2030's, Japan has a stable colony on Mars by 2160. This colony provides food and water for Japan as well as providing jobs for Japanese workers. However, it also causes
problems for other nations.

The International Community is upset about Japan's development of space capabilities, especially America, since it never got
to land on the moon. America decides to take action against Japan and launches an invasion force consisting of thousands of soldiers who invade Japan.
