On 20th April 2022, General Matthew Smith was reported to be kidnapped during a military operation in Duago conducted by the USDSF, he was captured by terrorists who reside in the area.

Matthew Smith is a four star general in the USDA, he received the Medal of Honour, the highest military award in the United States of Dictators Army from President Dinc in May 2018 for his incredible work as General, He also received the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, Distinguished Service Medal among others, He led many USDA operations abroad and was thought to be a great planner for operations, he also leads the 59th and 76th Infantry Divisions and 45th and 79th Ground Division.

On 20th April, General Smith was leading a military operation in the arid desert of South-eastern Duago, an area which is heavily guarded by local rebels and is known to be the headquarters of the terrorist organization called Juancot. The military operation was intended to capture Juaneos Cardle, leader of Juancot, the operation consisted of 45 soldiers from the United States of Dictators Special Forces (USDSF), the operation was ordered by the Ministry of Defense and authorized by the President.

Smith said that he will be present on the frontlines during the operation, an unusual move from a General, The Ministry of Defense and the USDSF warned him that the situation is very dangerous, but Smith insisted that he knew that it was dangerous, but he wanted to fight with his troops and said that "If I die during this operation, I will die serving my country" after the MoD and USDSF failed to persuade him, at 1:40 AM on 20th April, the troops set off from Mclean Military Base to the town of Hue Vere in the remote desert of Duago, where the headquarters of Juancot is at, the soldiers reached the town of Hue Vere on 2:25 AM and prepared for the operation. General Smith wore a bulletproof vest and carried a M16 assault rifle, most of buildings in the area had been destroyed as the United States of Dictators Air Force (USDAF) had done a bombing campaign on the town earlier, a few rebels spotted the soldiers and fired shots from their AK-47's, but they were quickly killed by the USDSF, the troops approached the house of Juaneos Cardle, who at the time was sleeping with his wife and two kids, one of the rebels alerted Cardle that the army had came, Cardle woke up his wife and kids and sent them to a bunker beneath his house, he grabbed his AK-47 and hid in a backroom. Meanwhile outside, a rebel who was Cardle's bodyguard engaged in a shootout with the troops, eventually he was shot in the head by solider. The troops went upstairs to Cardle's room where he hid, loaded their guns and threw a smoke grenade into the room where Cardle hid, and then entered the room and fired shots at him, Cardle immediately died from gunshot wounds and his body was carried out of the room and to a military vehicle, the troops continued to search his house until they found the bunker his wife and kids were hiding in, the troops took them to a military vehicle. General Smith was carrying Cardle's body to the vehicle and was attacked by a group of rebels, who tried to strangled Smith, Smith managed to shoot the left leg of a rebel with his pistol and also shot a rebel in the head with his pistol, but the rebels knocked out Smith and dragged him to a van, meanwhile in Cardle's house, the troops searched all of his house and collected evidence, after that, the troops left and the house was destroyed by the USDAF at 5:20 AM, The commanding officer of the USDSF asked where Smith was, but he was nowhere to be found, Cardle's body was found by the troops lying on the ground with blood all over it, it was this that they knew that Smith had been kidnapped, The Ministry of Defense and the President was informed immediately and a rescue operation was commenced.

The rescue operation consisted of the USDSF, The United States of Dictators Central Bureau of Intelligence (CBI) and even the Duago State Police. The USDSF received reports from the CBI about potential targets where he could be held, after about a day of searching, on the night of 21th April at 12:45 AM, the USDSF received a message from the Duago State Police saying that a civilian had seen a black van with a few people with guns and a man with a foreign military symbol on his shirt, the van was said to be heading north of Hue Vere, this information was passed to the CBI and a potential target was found, the CBI requested the USDSF to commence a military operation in the town, and at 1:30 AM the USDSF arrived at the target, the operation was being broadcasted to the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in Wilmington in which the President, Vice President was present. The target was heavily guarded by rebels, USDSF troops engaged in a shootout with the rebels outside, and managed to kill all the rebels, the troops went inside the compound and found General Smith tied up to a chair with rebels guarding him, the troops knew if they went inside the rebels would kill Smith, as the troops were carrying highly advanced weaponry they would not want trade weapons in exchange for Smith, the troops called in a sniper who shot the rebel who had a gun in the head, after that the troops entered the room and shot the unarmed rebels, after that Smith was rescued and taken to a local hospital, Smith said that he was repeatedly beaten by the rebels and was shot in the leg, he was transported via helicopter to the capital of Duago, where he got on a military plane to the United States of Dictators. Upon arriving in Wilmington, he was sent to a hospital for further treatment, and was visited by the President. Meanwhile back in Duago, the USDSF and USDAF destroyed what was left of Juancot, and came back to the United States of Dictators, Upon arrival, the troops were greeted by the public at Mattias Lee Military Airport in Wilmington, after a few weeks, Smith recovered and met with USDSF troops that rescued him, he said that they couldn't be thanked enough for what they did, The President awarded the 45 members of the USDSF the Distinguished Service Medal for their extraordinary performance in the operation.
