The People's Socialist Republic of Urgabah is a gargantuan, efficient nation, renowned for its museums and concert halls, state-planned economy, and daily referendums. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful population of 34.794 billion Urgabahians enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded morass — juggles the competing demands of Environment, Education, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cornucopia. The income tax rate is 100%.

The frighteningly efficient Urgabahian economy, worth an astonishing 13,044 trillion Uollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Book Publishing industry, with significant contributions from Tourism. Average income is an amazing 374,916 Uollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Populations of two-headed Monitor Lizards have been found around recently-uncovered archaeological sites, one does not simply walk into the tundra, every citizen is allowed exactly fifteen minutes of fame, and droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Urgabah's national animal is the Monitor Lizard, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Urgabah is ranked 207,474th in the world and 5,833rd in the West Pacific for Largest Basket Weaving Sector, scoring -25.13 on the Hickory Productivity Index.
