Venezia Pacifíca

Centuries ago, intrepid Venetian Mariners set out to explore and make money (hey, they were Venetian).

Eventually they settled a chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean, where they established a new Most Serene Republic under balmy skies. This is their new homeland.

Political activity is based on the traditional Venetian arengo, where citizens are nominated by lot to help the Republic make important decisions. This method has resulted in the Most Serene Republic being down-rated by certain myopic twatwaffles’ ratings of “political freedom” as “sortition.” This is crap, and everyone knows it. Citizens understand their responsibility to be conversant with political and moral issues, also, the arengo has prevented the development of a “political class” and greatly hindered attempts to corrupt politics via bribery and lobbying, which are tolerated if not encouraged in “free” electoral systems. So f—k all that. Apparently you can’t say “f—k” here. That’s stupid.

Citizenship is voluntaristic. If you want to be a citizen, and you are willing to migrate and engage in the trials of strength and intellect (and smoke a lot of herb) then you, too might qualify for a Venezia Pacifican passport.

The State barely maintains a military, and barely needs one.

Cars are illegal. We have trains and vaporetti. You can also use a sailboat to go pretty much anywhere.

Drug use is mandatory.

Our State’s public nudity ranking isn’t as high as we’d like. We’re working on it.
