The Original Role Play Threads #2

Lik
Greetings My Lords, permit me to introduce myself, I am Ser Arthur Dayne, of House Dayne. I am just arrived here after a long journey.

Pyke Harbor, Isle of Pyke-
“Our Fleet has doubled in size since your coronation brother.” Stated Victarion. “We are ready to begin pillaging all over Westeros. Shall we begin?”
Euron would smugly smile on his throne. He had a great ambition. To reforge the Ironborn Empire back before there were Targaryens, before the Ironborn were forced into the small islands they inhabit to this day. With his good eye, Euron would stare at Victarion.
“I have a few targets for you brother. See that the fleet weakens them to the point of collapse.” Responded Euron.
“What is your will?” Asked Victarion, kneeling.
“Reave and destroy ant farms, villages or towns owned by the houses Mallister. I will lead my half to do the same to the Grells. They will be our message to Westeros.” Euron said, standing.
“It will be done.” said Victarion before leaving to disembark.
Euron would walk to his Flagship, Silence and set sail as well, with dozens of ships behind him. He grinned with savage glee, for the grand conquest of the Islands shall begin.

Greetings Lord Greyjoy,
Could I interest you in some slaves? Some Essori warriors, or women; bedslaves or workers? We can do business, send an envoy to Meereen, we will host you, a true Essori banquet and all the women you can defile, or men if that is your choosing.
Warm regards,
Razdal mo Eraz

Astapor, Slavers Bay-
A Greyjoy Drakkar sails into the port of Astapor in Slavers Bay. A rough looking group of Ironborn disembark from their vessel onto the docks.
(A backstory has been prepared for a possible Dornish RP. It was devised when there was not yet a Warden of the South and consideration was being given to marching from Starfall and annexing Three Towers, Oldtown, and Blackcrown into Dorne. But there are other directions that it may take. Not developed yet.)

Meereen, Slavers Bay-
A Greyjoy Drakkar sails into the port of Meereen in Slavers Bay. A rough looking group of Ironborn disembark from their vessel onto the docks.
(I changed your location to Meereen, it works out better)
Master Razdal, accompanied by several Purifiers approach the Ironborn on the dock;
‘Greetings Ironborn of Pyke, your kind visiting are seldom found in Meereen. To what do we owe this pleasure? Do you seek slaves for your Islands of Iron? To sow that which you do not? If you would perchance instead of gold, you would be willing to us in our future plans to expand our Empire beyond the cities of Astapor, Yunkai and Meereen; we would use your ships and soldiers in tandem with our own.
We would seek the Islands of Cedar and the far closer Yaros. The Doom of Valyria left many valuable cities abandoned, Old Ghis, Bhorash, the city of monsters, Mantarys. Elyria and Tolos belonging to the lower slavers; that we will become one with. To do so, we will have your aid and you will have your slaves. What say you?’

(Until House Martell rocks up, you’re the only other active Dornish House; what occurs in Dorne is up to you. So long as it doesn’t impinge on House Tyrell’s lands or the lands of its vassal; House Tarly at Horn Hill. You would have to take it up with House Tyrell, if you wish to fight. That could be interested. Not a prolonged war, maybe just skirmish. It’s entirely up to you.)

Raven to Lord Greyjoy
Lord Greyjoy,
Our vassal, House Banefort have reported a sizeable increase in the quantity of the Iron Fleet, it has been spotted from the battlements of the Banefort, we trust your intentions are noble? You may have the advantage at sea, but not in economic prowess, our authority in the Westerlands or our army. If you wish to treat with House Lannister, we would welcome you. If not then, we will have finished our business.
Signed by my seal,
Tywin Lannister of Casterly Rock, Warden of the West.

Advances on Riverrun
Tywin, still held up in Casterly Rock orders his favoured son, Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer to capture the strategically important city of Riverrun, it was under Tully control as their ancestral home. Tully forces were scattered and no match for the numerically, tactically and provisionally better Lannister forces.
Ser Jaime rallied a force of 20,000 Lannister troops, leaving the remaining 76,000 under the command of Tywin and his remaining Generals; they would either be marching across the Westerlands or garrisoning key cities, of the several Vassal Houses sworn to the Lannisters.
From Casterly Rock, Jaime astride his horse; led the formation of heavily armoured Lannister troops and cavalry on the flanks of the mighty force; at the rear were the archers, famous for pelting the enemies of the Lannisters with incredible and lethal accuracy. The march would be a long one indeed, from Casterly Rock to Rivverun.
The army would make three pit stops, the first at Oxcross, the second at the military camp at the Golden Tooth and finally at the tavern filled, brothel rich Wayfarer’s Rest before the last miles to Riverrun. A siege plan had been laid out, with the Lannister forces bringing siege equipment from Nunn’s Deep, a collective that would join their cohorts from a separate canal joining at Riverrun; down the Tumblestone River on large boats to ferry disassembled catapults and onagers.
Ser Jaime, at the front, Rode with confidence and bravado. Determined to prove his fathers faith in him unquestionable.

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale
Ser Arthur Dayne looked around the gathering in the Audience Chamber of the Old Palace. He said, "Maester Myles you asked for this meeting. Tell us the purpose." Myles explained, "Maester Colemon, the Maester of the Eyrie is a personal friend. He has advised me that House Arryn has grown decrepit and sickly. It will cease to exist in two days. Now is the opportunity to land an amphibious assault in The Fingers and take the Vale while they are in a state of confusion."
Ser Arthur looked around the table. Seated were Areo Hotah, Prince Oberyn, and Maester Myles, but pacing nervously around the room was Darkstar. "What say you brother?" He asked Darkstar.
"It might be viewed as treason by the other Wardens," he replied.
"Best to act first and ask forgiveness later," said Prince Oberyn.
"And Areo, what do you say?"
"The confusion when House Arryn no longer exists would be a tremendous advantage."
"I agree. Prepare the fleet. We sail with the next high tide. We will strike while The Vale is in confusion just as soon as House Arryn has ceased to exist."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 2
The Dornish Fleet arrives off the coast of the Fingers. Prince Oberyn's handpicked men go ashore and the watchtower sentries are silenced by poison arrows. Spies are dispatched into the Vale and onward to the Eyrie and the Bloody Gate. The fleet stands ready, awaiting the signal from the spies that House Arryn has finally ceased to exist.

Tywin lannister of casterly rock wrote: Welcome Lord Walder,
I hope House Frey finds comfort here and that you make your allegiances crystal. We hope you partake in the merry politics of Westeros.
Ever warm regards,
Tywin.

Ah, the mighty Tywin Lannister.
Greetings my Lord,
I, Walder Frey humbly offer you a chance at relations. House Frey is determined to exhibit goodwill to both the Crown and House Lannister. A fortuitous way of doing so is with marriage, therefore; I request your nephew, a captain of one of your many armies, Lancel Lannister to choose any of my lovely daughters or granddaughters over the age of 14 mind. We invite you to discuss terms at my 89th birthday feast! There will be fine wine, good food and the smooth, unspoiled c*nts of as many glorious bedmaidens your troops could wish for. I do this in confidence, do not delay with a response for more than a week, lest I rescind the offer.
Best regards from your friends in the Riverlands,
Lord Walder Frey of the Twins.

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 3
The flaming signal arrows flashed through the night sky. Shouts rang out through the fleet. "House Arryn has ceased to exist!"
Quickly the boats were lowered into the sea and the first wave of troops swept towards the shores of the Fingers. All of the commanders went with the first boats, Areo Hotah, Prince Oberyn, Darkstar, and Ser Arthur Dayne. By prearranged strategy the four would crush the coastal garrisons then attack Longbow Hall simultaneously. Once Longbow Hall had fallen it would be used as the staging and supply depot for a four pronged thrust through the heart of the Vale straight to the Eyrie and then if necessary on to the stronghold at the Bloody Gate. The thought being that with House Arryn gone, and the Eyrie fallen, the Knight of the Gate might surrender the Bloody Gate without a fight.
The coastal defenders were poorly matched against the desert-born Dornishmen. The Knights of the Vale wore the traditional heavy battle armor and moved ponderously, even the horses of their heavy cavalry were slowed by armor. Dornshmen, trained for war under a scorching desert sun wore no armor, they were trained to strike with speed and skill, not ponderous brute force. They rode circles around the coastal defenders, striking at weak-points with poison lance and poison arrows. Soon there were no longer any defenders on the coast to oppose them.
The four commanders gathered their forces and swept swiftly onward toward the unprepared stronghold of Longbow Hall.
Prince Oberyn called a halt near the outskirts of Longbow Hall and summoned his shock troops to him. "The gates are open. The guards complacent. House Hunter is in confusion over the end of House Arryn. Sweep quickly inside and capture or kill House Hunter. We cannot dawdle here. Speed is essential before the Eyrie learns of our invasion."
The special unit approached the gate slowly as if a band of travelers were arriving on the way to The Fingers. At the challenge from the sentry at the gate they struck quickly with poison arrows. They were inside and headed to the chambers of Lord Hunter before the alarm could be spread. The main invasion force crashed through the gate before it could be closed by the few guardsmen who had managed to dodge the arrows.
Lord Hunter was taken alive. Longbow Hall had fallen.

Expansion of House Frey: To the North and the East!
Lord Walder sat moribund over his table, pondering his many decisions. Lothar and Black Walder entered gleeming with success.
"Whats got youse two so chipper" inquired the Frey patriarch.
"Father", began Black Walder
"We have managed to gain the support of Houses Bracken, Mudd, Mooton and Darry. Each House has sworn us food, supplies and men, we've also scouted a Lannister host around a day's march or so."
Walder smiles and then guffaws,
"It would seem that Tywin is indeed interested in our proposal. In the meantime, I have jobs for you sons." informed Walder.
"Jobs father? What jobs?" replied Lothar
Walder gave an irritated scowl,
"If you shut the f*** up, i'd tell you" Yelled a rather incensed Walder.
"What's our current standing army Lothar?"
Lothar pulled a military report of out his pocket and his eyes darted up and down before turning to his father;
"Our standing army is 12,000 men, but we could call upon our vassals for an additional 5,650 men." returned Lothar.
"What of the Lannisters? Or the Boltons? Can we count on their support and troops if need be?" asked Walder assertively
"The Lannisters are bringing an extra 8,000 men for the feast of your 89th name day Father, along with your requested groom Lancel. The Boltons are sending 4,350 troops from Oldcastle as a sign of goodwill to you."
"That's good, we rule the Riverlands. But I want to expand northward and into the now barren Vale. I need you two to act as commanders of our House, Ser Harys! Get in er!" spoke Walder first quiet then loud with rapid transition.
Ser Harys, Walder's fierce bodyguard entered adorning a bloody greatsword that he had wetted after an intense session of executions.
"Lord Walder, you called" began Harys
"That I did, we were just discussing the potential spread of our glorious House. So, let me begin; Black Walder, you and Harys will cross over the Eastern mounts to the former Vale cities of Coldwater, Snakewood and Strongsong. Take 8,000 of our men and take the damn cities!
Lothar you and Captain Karll will go north to Greywater Watch with the other 4,000 of our men to meet with House Reed, then to Flint's Finger across the Neck. If you could offer a vassal to the Reeds, you could take some of their troops with the money I'll grant you. Now go and do not fail me!" Stated Lord Walder

House bolton of the dreadfort wrote: Good read mate,
Although, how you plan to take the Eyrie? A million men would have difficulty.
(That's true, but that would only matter if the Dayne's were attempting to cross from the West not the East, how the Freys plan to get around the mountains is more concerning.)
(We've got ships waiting at the Bite, they'll ferry Black Walder, Harys and his force to Coldwater, how long are you from the Twins, Lord Tywin?)
(We should be too long, we can see Seagard now)
(How is the siege of Riverrun going? Would you possibly be able to grant it to us? We can troops from Fairmarket, about 2,000 troops)
(We could do that, we'd have to station some Lannister troops there. If you could send the troops to the siege, we have siege weapons they could use)
(We'll send Lord Monro Erenford with 2,000 troops, it'll be about a day until they reach Riverrun)

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 4
Lord Hunter was brought before the Dornish commanders. His eyes fell upon Prince Oberyn Martell. "I should have know that the foul stench of a desert rat was coming from you, Martell!"
Prince Oberyn smiled and said, "Then you will be pleased to learn, Lord Hunter, that I brought the Sand Snakes with me. They are aiding in the mop-up of your puny soldiers. The Sand Snakes will be pleased to teach you some manners. Take him away!"
"Hold!" said Arthur Dayne, "I remember Lord Hunter from my time in the Kingsguard. He is a brave Lord and an honorable man. Imprison him, but treat him with respect. None of the Sand Snakes are to touch him. Do I make myself clear, Prince Oberyn?" Oberyn visibly blushed with anger, but replied icily, "Very Clear, Oh Sword of the Morning."
Lord Hunter spoke again, "This is madness Arthur! Even with House Arryn gone, a million men would have difficulty taking the Eyrie! The Eyrie is impregnable except from the air, and you have no Dragons." "So we have been told," replied Ser Arthur Dayne.
"My Lord, we must depart quickly before word of our victory at Longbow Hall reaches Nestor Royce at The Gates of the Moon," said Areo Hotah. "Ha!" Laughed Lord Hunter, "You will not even be able to take The Gates of the Moon!" "Get him out of here, Darkstar, before I change my mind about giving him to the Sand Snakes," said Arthur Dayne.
Arthur Dayne gave his commands, "Areo, leave sufficient men here to hold Longbow Hall against a counter-attack from the garrisons in Gulltown or Coldwater Burn. We will divide into four columns and take separate routes as previously agreed toward The Gates of the Moon. You will lead the guardsmen from Sunspear, the Water Gardens, and Planky Town. Prince Oberyn will lead his shock troops and the troops commanded by the Sand Snakes. Darkstar will command the troops from Starfell, High Hermitage, Blackmont, Kingsgrave, and Wyl. I will take the rest. If any of us encounters a delay along the separate routes, the others will not stop to assist, but proceed with utmost haste to The Gates of the Moon. Prince Oberyn, divide the special cargo amongst each column. I intend to use a Dothraki style speed attack to charge The Gates of the Moon with mounted archers firing poison arrows, before the sentries can raise the drawbridge, or have time to bar the gates."
"Assemble your commands and move out now. We must not allow time for word to reach Nestor Royce."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 5
The column led by Prince Oberyn and the Sand Snakes arrive on the outskirts of The Gates of the Moon first. The speedy Dornish Horsemen had sliced through the heart of the fertile farmland like a hot knife through butter. The Prince was met by one of the spies from The Bloody Gate. "Oh Prince, the Bloody Gate is on alert, but not for us, the Knight of the Gate has received word that the idiot brothers from House Frey have mobilized their troops. He will be informing Nestor Royce, if he has not already done so."
"Then we must attack now. Form up! Archers ready! At full gallop! Charge!"
The Dornishmen swept over the low hill and directly at the drawbridge which was still down. Cries of alarm rang out from the gate towers, but clouds of poison arrows from mounted archers were already finding their marks along the battlements. The lancers with their poisoned tips swept through the gate before the Portcullis could be completely lowered.
As Oberyn's vanguard swept into The Gates of the Moon, Darkstar and Arthur Dayne, alerted to the sounds of combat, swept over the hills and joined the battle. Unprepared, and taken by surprise by the speed of the Dornish assault the walls and courtyard fell quickly. Nestor Royce retreated to the The Gates of the Moon's Keep with a small detachment of troops. From there he sent Ravens to the Eyrie and its fortifications.
The Sand Snakes were again enjoying mop-up duty, as they tried out different poison mixtures on the prisoners. The final column then arrived on the scene, having taken a more tortuous path to The Gates of the Moon.
Prince Oberyn advised the other commanders of the news concerning the mobilization of brothers from House Frey. "Well, the game is really afoot now," said Areo Hotah. Arthur Dayne said, "We must take the Eyrie quickly. I have no doubt that the Lords of the Vale would prefer rule by us over rule by the doltish brothers from House Frey. They will no doubt join us, if we can stop the Sand Snakes from killing all of their soldiers."
"Nestor Royce holding out in the Keep will not trouble us. Let the Sand Snakes play around with him. Prince Oberyn, time to break out your cargo. Order the available troops to begin gathering firewood."
Great pyres of wood were built all around the base of the Eyrie and its approach fortifications. "Lord Hunter was correct. The attack will be by the air." Prince Oberyn sprinkled buckets of powder into each stack of wood. "Tell our men not to worry," said Arthur Dayne, "They received the antidote before we landed in the Fingers. This may solve our Nestor Royce problem too."
The great fires were ignited. The purple colored smoke rose into the air until it blew through the fortifications, higher, and higher, until the prisoners could be seen falling from the sky cells.

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 6
Maester Colemon approched Arthur Dayne, "My Lord, fortunately for me, I was here in The Gates of the Moon to confer with Nestor Royce when your forces attacked. I will serve you as I served House Arryn, but I should warn you that a Raven just arrived. Gulltown has discovered the fall of Longbow Hall. All coastal defenses and towns will now be alert to any further troop landings."
Arthur Dayne replied, "Then it is well that we are already here. I welcome you into service Maester Colemon. Prince Oberyn, assemble your men and your Sand Snakes to make a reconnaissance-in-force up to the Eyrie. Maester Colemon, you are fortunate that the winds did not blow smoke back into The Gates of the Moon. Send Ravens to the Lords of the Vale informing them that we have taken The Gates of the Moon and that the Eyrie has fallen. Advise them that House Frey is on the march and that they may choose to fight beside us or take their chances with the untrustworthy Freys. Then see if you can convince Nestor Royce to leave the Keep and join us."
"Areo, send word to the Fleet Commanders that the Vale's coastal defenses have been alerted, and advise them to immediately prepare for battle at sea should the Freys try an amphibious attack on the Vale's beach fortifications."
Prince Oberyn led his forces upward towards the Eyrie, at each of the guardian castles he found only the dead and the dying.

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 7
Atfer a dangerously twisting, and exhausting climb, with many switchbacks and narrow foot-logs, the reconnaissance-in-force reached the Eyrie. The massive Portcullis was down and the great Ironwood doors shut. Prince Oberyn ordered the grapples to be used, and after several failed attempts one of the grapples seemed to hold. Tyene Sand impetuously grabbed the rope and began climbing, only to have the grapple come loose and crash to the stone path, just missing her head where she had had landed on her back with her breath completely knocked out of her. Nymeria looked at her gasping for breath with disgust, picked up the grapple, spun it around as if it were her whip, then wrapped it around one of the banner poles atop the wall. "Now little sister, do you want to try again?" she asked Tyene. But received no reply through Tyene's gasping. It was Obara who went up the rope with a contingent of her troops behind her.
The Portcullis was raised and the heavy doors opened. Obara reported, "We came down through the main halls. It appears that those in this part of the castle tried to defeat the smoke by opening all windows and doors to allow the mountain breeze to dilute the poison. It didn't work. But the rest of the Eyrie is shut up tightly, so there may yet be survivors." Prince Oberyn ordered the troops to find metal bars and beams that could be used to force open barricaded doors. "Let us hope that any survivors have no fight left in them," he said.
The door selected for opening appeared to lead into personal chambers of House Arryn. It was selected since Oberyn wanted to see if any nobility had survived with their personal guards. As the great door splintered and fell, Ser Vardis Egen staggered out in full battle armor with greatsword held high. Oberyn contemptuously kicked his feet from under him and rolled him aside. Several Knights had struggled to their feet, but dropped their weapons, and weak sounds of, "I yield, I yield!" could be heard.
Anya Waynwood unsteadily rose from the floor, "We had assembled here after House Arryn ceased to exist, and now you have taken these The Lords Declarant together. What do you propose to do with us?"

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 8
Oberyn replied,"What do I propose to do with you? Why Lady Waynwood, I propose to rule you."
"It appears that the efforts by Ser Vardis to seal the rooms was partially successful. You have only been sickened for now, but rest assured that death is imminent. However, it does not have to be. Bend the knee and pledge your loyalty to the Lords of Dorne and receive the antidote to the poisonous smoke.
Lord Yohn Royce is finally able to speak, although gasping with each word, "That is blackmail! You would have us trade our loyalty for our lives? I will have none of it! I will die with honor." "Choking to death from poison smoke doesn't seem that honorable to me," said Prince Oberyn, "and in any case, the greedy forces of House Frey are on the march. Your meaningless death, combined with our defeat, would leave your lands and people to the despicable Brothers Frey."
"Can this be true?" asked Lady Waynwood. "Yes my Lady," it is very true replied the Prince, "Will you leave you people to their fate, or will you live to guide them?" "I choose life," she replied. "The rest of you, if you are too weak to speak, make some motion so we know that you agree with Lady Waynwood. The antidote must be given quickly!"
Prince Oberyn surveyed the Nobles in the room. Some of the The Lords Declarant were absent. Gilwood Hunter had already been captured before he could reach the Eyrie. Horton Redfort had stopped by the Bloody Gate and had halted there upon hearing the rumors of the Frey troop movements. That left the Nobel Houses of Royce, Waynwood, Belmore, and Templeton. Of these, only Lord Royce refused the antidote. Of special concern was the presence of Ser Symond Templeton, which meant that the commander of the coastal defenses in The Fingers was not on the coast to repel any invasion by the Freys.
Lady Waynwood slowly crawled across the floor to the side of Lord Yohn Royce, "You old fool, why do you want to throw your life away when your people need you?" Lord Royce gasped for breath and when he answered it was more like the croak of a frog than a human voice,"My life is my own, I will not be ruled by Dornishmen." "Lord Royce," said Oberyn, "before you commit suicide, I should tell you that the Commanders with Ser Arthur Dayne, in addition to myself, are Ser Gerold Dayne, and Areo Hotah. I am obviously the best suited to rule, but Ser Arthur has mentioned allowing the Lords of the Vale to choose which of the three Commanders they wish to rule them. Your fellow Lords might yet choose Areo Hotah, who is definitely not Dornish. Now go ahead and kill yourself." No longer able to speak, Lord Royce, could only twitch his head slightly. "That's a yes!" said Lady Waynwood. "Quickly!" "Give him the antidote," commanded Prince Oberyn, "If that wasn't really a yes, we will simply kill him later."
"What of Ser Vardis?" asked Obara, "He has not twitched since you knocked his legs from under him." "The same as Lord Royce," replied Oberyn, "Give him the antidote, but kill him later if he refuses to bend the knee."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 9
The survivors of the poison attack were too weak for the arduous trip back to the Gates of the Moon. Oberyn was anxious to return down the mountain. He ordered the entire reconnaissance-in-force to occupy the Eyrie and prepare for a defense against the forces of House Frey. He placed Obara in command of the Eyrie with orders to integrate the Soldiers of the Vale, who had bent the knee, into her force. Nymeria was ordered to take charge of the Nobles including Ser Vardis and to move them down to the Gates of the Moon as soon as she judged them strong enough for the trip. Anyone who caused trouble was to be killed quickly, lest rebellion should spread.
Prince Oberyn asked Tyene to accompany him back down the path on this dangerous shoulder of the Giant's Lance. She happily agreed, more than willing to leave her sisters. They set out at once. Tyene pointed out that they would not be able to reach the Gates of the Moon before darkness fell. "I plan to spend the night in the highest Guard Castle," said Oberyn. "In our haste to reach the Eyrie we bypassed those three fortifications. I plan to inspect them on the way down."
The downward clime seemed more dangerous than going upwards. Each step through the loose stones threatened to toss them headlong down the mountainside. Mountain Condors could be seen circling where the prisoners from the sky cells had landed among the boulders. "Be alert when we reach the castles," said the Prince. "Larger things than those Condors will have been attracted by the smell of death in those fortifications."
As they approached the first of the castles, the shadows from the western mountains were starting to reach them. Oberyn held up his hand. They stood silently, listening. Growling and snarling could be heard. "Sounds as though something is fighting over the flesh of the dead." "We could try to slip past, but darkness will catch us before we reach the next castle," said the Prince. "What shall we do?" asked Tyene. "What any good Dornishmen do, we fight!" said Oberyn.
The Prince looked around the path in the fading light for something suitable for a torch. He saw what appeared to be a broken walking staff that had been tossed aside by a climber. He took a bottle of oil and a rag from his pack, wrapped the rag securely around the end of the broken staff, then coated the cloth in the oil, finally he sprinkled the poison powder over the oil coating. As silently as they could they approach the door of the castle. "There is a sally port visible in the right tenailles. I doubt there will be any bodies there. We will use the flame and smoke to discourage the beasts, then attempt to barricade ourselves inside the tenailles. Move quickly to the right as soon as we enter. Now use flint and steel to light the torch."
Tyene set the torch alight. Oberyn sprang through the door with his spear ready and the torch billowing smoke in front of him. In the fading light they saw a giant Mountain Bear smashing down a wolfpack which refused to share the newfound feast. The Bear turned to face the new threat, but the wolves continued their attack. The Bear was distracted just long enough for Tyene and Oberyn to dart into the portion of the castle composing the tenailles and the sally port. "Barricade the door quickly!" The smoke affected the wolves. As they fell, the Bear turned back toward the intruding humans. "I was wrong," said Prince Oberyn, "there are bodies here, but the wolves who were eating them must have joined the attack on the Bear. Grab their spears and halberds to brace the door." "Why isn't the Bear affected by the smoke?" cried Tyene. "A beast that size requires a massive dose." replied the Prince. Spears and halberds were placed against the door just before the Bear crashed into it. Then came the sound of splintering wood.

The Bloody Gate
Lord Walder Rivers riding astride with Harys arrived at the former gatehouse of House Arryn with 10,000 grizzled, blood thirsty soldiers with the unquenchable urge to make any foe scream in anguish with the wondrous singing of steel that oh so motivated soldiers of old. Upon meeting the great mountains of the Vale, Harys had pointed out that attempting to traverse them would be met with impossible odds; so Walder elected to travel south to the Bloody Gate, stopping at Castle Darry for replenishment, comestibles and reinforcements from the Darry's.
After the jaunt with the Darry's, Walder, Harys and his 10,000 strong force marched for 2 days with intermittent stops. The Bloody Gate was in sight, Walder dismounted and approached hand on sword.
"Guardsmen of the Vale, we do not have need for bloodshed! We want to protect your investments in the Vale. We ask that you stand aside, or join our campaign to the Eyrie! You will be well recompensed, the thrill of war is its own reward. What say you?"
The Valesmen Guard Captain Athlas Waynwood came out, reluctantly almost. Athlas looked down to Walder somewhat disparagingly.
"Tell me Frey, what guarantee can you offer me of support? I have 2,500 fighting men, but they won't fight for the man who cut Catelyn Stark's throat to the bone, ear to ear without a modicum of assurance."
Walder smiled, turning to Harys beckoning him forward;
Harys on the ground, dragged a hilltribesmen bloodied and battered to the full view of the Valesmen.
"We believe you wanted this?" stated Walder, who drew a dagger and grabbed the hilltribesmen placing the dagger on his neck.
Stunned, Athlas rubbed his eyes;
"Lorgrim of the Stone Crows? 200 Valesmen couldn't catch him and 200 Valesmen couldn't return."
"You want to see me give these flea bitten mongrel a shave?" guffawed Walder.
"Such decency is unbefitting of one so foul, make it hurt and by the Grace of the Seven; for the 200 dead Valesmen we're yours. Lord Rivers" returned Athlas.
"That's fair, Harys; you heard the noble Captain. What are we if not just?"
Harys nodded, summoning two Frey soldiers. The soldiers brought two large wood pieces, tying them together with ropes into a cross shape. Harys threw Lorgrim to the ground, punching him in the face; cracking his skull with the pressure. The Frey soldiers holding his arms down, Harys broke both his arms before smashing iron nails through his wrists, amidst defeaning screams, Harys cackled as he and the soldiers planted the cross in solid ground.
But even this did not suffice the Frey Captain, Harys pulled down Lorgrim's greaves and slowly gelded him, tying the organ through a necklace and placing it over his neck. Harys returned to his horse still smiling. Walder looked to Athlas, who nodded as the Bloody Gate opened; laughter and jeering was heard as the Frey contingent passed Lorgrim to meet with the Valesmen.
Walder met with Athlas in the central tent of the Vale camp.
"Greetings my Lord Walder, we thank you for your service and courtesy you have bestowed upon us. Our blades, shields and arrows are yours, to this we pledge even in defeat. Though can you guarantee a home for us in the Riverlands should our toil end in defeat?" Athlas pledged and rose upon finishing.
"Of course, any man who lays down their life, who raises their sword to House Frey will always have a place in Frey lands, Now how many fighting men can we expect?" returned Walder.
"We have 2,500 fighting men, most are veterans of the Eyrie defence force. I was Kingsguard to Robin Arryn, I can fight and I will for you and House Frey. Though I would recommend more favourable weather before we move out. Go and get some rest" informed Athlas.
Harys interjected
"I agree with Captain Athlas, however; the Dornish are tricky b*stards, they strike like a scorpion when we exhibit weakness. Go Lord Walder, rest. I'll take the night's watch; Men, build high walls, palisades, torches, light them well and them frequently, have the Vale archers and our crossbows keep vigilant. I'll meet you on the road north in 10 minutes, Captain" ordered Harys.
Athlas knelt before Walder and proceeded to the north. Walder took to the tent, seeing a Vale bedslave waiting. Walder smiled and drew the tent closed.
Athlas and Harys oversaw the construction of the defensive wall, looking outwards to the Vale.
"Do you think we can take the Eyrie, Captain? asked Harys.
"I know we can, no one could be more knowledgeable. We could do this with our eyes closed, Besides the Vale would flock to us over the Dornish. My grandmother Anya was last in the Eyrie, I will rescue her" affirmed Athlas.
"I fear for any Dornishman who gets in your way" guffawed Harys.

(Welcome House glover of deepwood motte!
We do you stay here in perpetuity, any questions fire away and please send your House info!
Warmest welcomes,
Lord Tywin Lannister, Warden of the West.)
(So Lord Robett,
I see that you have ingratiated House Glover with House Forrester, even marrying yourself to Elissa and get her pregnancy to full term. Have you played the Telltale Series? You chose Rodrik over Asher, hmmm. I made the same choice, you had Duncan killed, always preferred Royland.
The Boltons are the power in the North, how you proceed is up to you. If you want to roleplay do so, but any other conversation should be bracketed.
Best wishes,
Lord Tywin Lannister)
(Yes Lord Tywin,
I played through the Telltale Series, horribly depressing; I just couldn't let the Forresters fall. I'm going for the ambush Ludd option, so Gryff's dead, Asher's dead, The Beast's dead, Okoye person is dead, Ironrath is burning. Rodrik, Talia and Royland survived. Beskha and Ryon are alive, Elissa is alive, I'll roleplay concisely the events following Ironrath's fall up to present. Thanks for the ace welcome!
Lord Robett)

(Welcome to Westeros, House Glover!
If you're ever in need of marital services, the Twins are always open ;)
(With respect Lord Frey, I'll pass. Thx for the welcome)
House glover of deepwood motte wrote: (Will the Boltons attack me?)
(Depends on your actions, at this moment. I haven't seen Alistair, he owns a majority of the north. He has the Karstarks, the Umbers, the Manderlys, the Freys, the Dustins, the Tallharts, the Flints and me. I support the Boltons, they own the North for me. I won't take any action against you, you're far too far for me to intervene, but the Boltons aren't ones for tolerance of insubordination.)
(Ah, thx, I'll roleplay tomorrow sometime. Nightey Night)

Dawn the Sword of the Morning
(I'm enjoying reading your Vale adventures, though I sense contention on the horizon! PS: To everyone, if you miss some lines of dialogue, make sure you go back to read them, you may miss key events in roleplays otherwise)

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 10
Lord Horton Redfort was astride his courser and riding hard for the Gates of the Moon. "Why didn't the archers above the pass riddle the Freys with arrows before they ever reached the Bloody Gate? How could the Knight of the Gate ever betray us to the Bloody Freys after the Red Wedding?" he asked himself. "All of the Vale will rise against this betrayal. I would die a thousand times for a man like Ser Arthur Dayne before I would shed one drop of blood for a damn Frey. They must be crushed forever and the vile rat's nest of The Twins cast down into the depths of the Green Fork."
As Lord Redfort raced towards the Gates of the Moon, Ser Arthur Dayne summoned Maester Colemon, "All the Ravens at the Eyrie will have died by the smoke. I need to know the progress of Oberyn's reconnaissance-in-force. Send a raven at one and ask for an update. We will assume that he is inside the Eyrie and will be able to send the Raven back with a Message. Then send another Raven to the Bloody Gate and ask the Knight of the Gate to join us here for a parley to develop a strategy on how best to deal with House Frey. The idiot brothers are dumb enough to try a frontal attack against the Bloody Gate. Then send Ravens to the rest of the Vale and advise them that an attack from House Frey appears imminent."
"Darkstar, I have another mission for you. In two days House Tyrell of Highgarden will cease to exist. I have made overtures to House Frey and House Lannister, but they seem to prefer death here in the Vale to the riches of The Reach. You will return to the fleet, take the flagship and sail immediately for Wyl. Organize the Dornish reserves and home guards into two forces. You attack from Vulture's Roost and drive directly towards Highgarden; don't waste time with a siege, use the smoke. Have Lord Blackmont take the rest of the forces directly to Oldtown from Blackmont. I expect that the damn Seneschal will surrender rather than risk having any of his precious books destroyed during an attack. Even if we should be defeated here, Dorne will be greater than ever with Highgarden."
"Areo, as soon as Darkstar departs, lower the Portcullis and Raise the Drawbridge. Place the archers with the poison arrows in defensive positions where they control all approaches. We don't want to be caught unprepared."
Just then a lookout shouted, "Rider approaching!" Areo Hotah commanded, "Keep arrows on him, but let him enter!" Lord Horton Redfort galloped across the Drawbridge and into the courtyard. "Treason at the Bloody Gate!" he shouted, "The Knight of the Gate is in league with the treacherous Freys!" "And what of you Lord Redfort?" asked Ser Arthur Dayne, "Are you for us, or against us?" "I bend the knee, anything to keep the dirty Freys out of our beautiful Vale!" "Then we welcome you, Lord Redford. Darkstar is departing on a mission back to Dorne. I will give you command of his troops."
"Areo, have the men build pyres to the limit of the range of flaming arrows. Sprinkle the pyres with oil, then add the buckets of powder. We will let their host approach inside the woodpiles, then we'll send House Frey to meet their honored guests from the Red Wedding."
Swift Dornish horses carried Darkstar to the coast where he was transported to the fastest ship in the fleet, the Dornish flagship. Going over battle plans in his mind, it seemed that they had reached Wyl in no time at all. Darkstar summoned the garrison commander. "Yes, my Lord?" said the Commander as he hurried to the Flag Ship.
"Summon our reserves. We are about to invade The Reach."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 10
Casterly Rock and the Invasion of the Reach
Tywin sat in his office, writing a report to his allies. Qyburn entered the room.
"My lord, the armies you have commissioned have been readied. We have the three armies stationed in the places you asked; the first army of 12,000 under your Ser Lorch is at Crakehall, the second of 15,000 at Cornfield under your brother Kevan and your army of 30,000 awaits you at Silverhill." informed Qyburn.
Tywin rose, summoned his squires and began as they adorned him in his Lannister armour.
"Thank you Lord Qyburn, you will inform Tyrion of his appointment to defender of the Westerlands in my stead. Ready Ser Gregor, we'll ride to Cornfield at once" stated Tywin magisterially.
"At once my Lord" said Qyburn making a quick exit to locate Tyrion. After his fitting, Tywin strode to the courtyard of Casterly Rock to meet with Ser Gregor, Tyrion came out onto the balcony following his conversation with Qyburn. Cersei came down to see her father off.
"Ser Gregor are you ready?"
"Of course my Lord, I'll ride ahead" Ser Gregor mounted and rode off, Cersei came forward intent on well wishing.
"Father, I came to wish you well in your campaign. We'll miss you. Robert's fumbling in Kings Landing, so we remain here; I'm still mourning, go and make me proud, us proud" said Cersei in a calm, somewhat crestfallen tone.
Tywin lowered his head remorsefully,
"Joffrey's death was not your fault, the infection from the bite was rampant, the beast is dead and the Starks are confined to the North. Myrcella and Tommen need your attention. Now, go and return to them" ordered Tywin.
Cersei returned to the great hall, Tywin looked to the balcony to Tyrion. Nodding his head, Tywin left riding to Silverhill with Ser Gregor.

The Invasion of the Reach: Part 1
Crakehall
The Fourth Westerlands Army of 12,000 under the command of Ser Amory Lorch was stationed at Crakehall. It's target was the Castle of Old Oak, the seat of House Oakheart . Then following onto an eastern assault on Highgarden.
Lorch amassed his 12,000 strong force and departed Crakehall with haste, Arriving at the Old Oak; Tywin had dispatched the Third Westerlands Navy under Admiral Westerling, 90 ships to ferry Lorch's army over to the Shield Islands, to capture them. The defenders of House Oakheart met with the Lannister host.
"What do you want Lannister?" asked the Oakheart captain.
General Lorch approached the gates of the Old Oak;
"We want you to surrender your castle to House Lannister, the Dornish are making moves on Tyrell lands. We believe they'd be better with us, open the portcullis and no harm will come to you. You have my word" affirmed Lorch.
"You must think us fools Lannisters, we'll never surrender this Castle" returned the captain.
Lorch smiled, "Have you heard, the Rains of Castamere?"
"Of course, why do you ask?" inquired the captain.
"That's good, have you heard the Rains of Old Oak?" asked Lorch.
Puzzled and perplexed, the Oakheart captain began "There's no such song"
"Not yet, Loose!" Yelled Lorch, as the Oakheart captain realised what was happening, his castle was pelleted by arrows, three of whicn found the Captain's throat.
"Bring the ram, set up the onagers! Rain fire upon these righteous Reachmen!" ordered Lorch.
Under the fire of higher Oakheart archers, the Lannister soldiers brought up the ram; THUD! CRASH! BANG! as the ram was jacked into the portcullis. Lorch looked to the higher vantage point of the Oakhearts,
"Onagers! Target those positions, open fire!
The vantage positions were soon overrun by continuous onager bombardment, the portcullis crumbled and the Lannisters poured through the gates crashing into the Oakheart defenders, the Lannisters were numerically stronger, better armed and trained. Lady Arwyn was brought out by Lorch and was stabbed in the neck; the remaining Oakhearts surrendered.
"Huzzah! We have won. There will be no celebration, count the dead and reform!"
"What do we do we these prisoners?" asked a Lannister Guard.
"Put them to the sword! We have no use for them!" commanded Lorch.
A Few Hours Later
Lorch was sat at the command table enjoying the fresh mutton provided by the Oakhearts, a guard approached and drew a scroll.
"General, we lost 300 men during the siege. Although, we have received 1,000 men from the Cranes courtesy of Kevan Lannister. What shall we do?" inquired the guard.
"We'll leave 700 men in the castle, the rest will come to make camp along the Ocean Road in equal distance to Lord Kevan's army"
"Yes milord" the guard left and the remaining Lannisters began to reform to make for the camp at the Ocean Road.
Silverhill (Largely Shortened)
The First Westerlands Army of 30,000 under the command of Lord Tywin Lannister and Ser Gregor Clegane was stationed at Silverhill, its targets were Goldengrove, Bitterbridge, Longtable and Cider Hall; then a western assault on Highgarden.
Tywin's Host marched from Silverhill to the Rowan Seat, Goldengrove. As the largest army, the First had the most targets; the Rowan Seat, the Caswell Seat, the Merryweather Seat, the Ashford Seat, the Meadows Seat and the Fossoway Seat.
Goldengrove: Lannister forces overrun the Rowan position and capture Goldengrove, loss of 450 troops in the battle.
Bitterbridge: Lannisters siege Bitterbridge starving out the Caswell defenders, Caswells put to the sword, 200 troops lost in the battle.
Longtable: House Merryweather joins the Lannisters as vassals, donating their 1,000 troops to the Lannisters.
Grassy Vale: House Meadows rebels agains the Lannister but are cut down by the Lannister force in around 2 hours, taking the town. Lannisters lose 90 men in the battle.
Ashford: The Lannisters offer vassalship to the Ashfords, Lord Erik Ashford refuses, so a siege begins after 3 days of starvation; the Ashford soldiers mutiny and kill Lord Erik siding with the Lannisters. The Ashford send 800 troops to the Lannisters, losses of 150 troops in the siege.
Cider Hall: The Lannisters attempt to bargain with the Fossoways, but are rejected; the Lannisters use onagers and trebuchets to crush the spirits and walls of the Fossoways, the Lannisters overran the Fossoway positions and took the castles; the Lannister lose a massive 1,900 men in the battle.
Tywin fortifies his position at the southern border of the Cockleswent, with his 28,000 troops making ready for the assault on Highgarden.
Cornfield
The Third Westerlands Army of 15,000 under the command of Lord Kevan Lannister was stationed at Cornfield, heading for the Red Lake then a frontal assault on Highgarden. Red Lake, the seat of House Crane stood before the Third Army, fortunately the incumbent Lord of Red Lake; Parmen Crane was imprisoned at Highgarden, with the promise of freeing him; the Cranes seceeded to the Lannisters and became a vassal of the Lords of the Westerlands. Kevan took his intact army to the border of the river Mander to make a war-camp before the assault on Highgarden.

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 11
The door was splintering under the weight of the giant Mountain Bear. "The door is about to collapse!" cried Prince Oberyn Martell as he tossed the torch to Tyene Sand. With a thunderous crash the door fell. Smoke from the smoke-filled room rushed out into the Bear's face while his bulk struggled to pass through the door frame. Sneezing the opportunity, Oberyn's spear flicked outward into each of the Bear's eyes.
The enraged bear charged blindly into the room. Oberyn leapt quickly to one side while Tyene did the same on the bear's other side. As the beast passed, Oberyn strock downward with his spear into the tendon on the back of the bear's leg. Crippled and blind the beast crashed into the wall of the tenailles dislodging a cascade of bricks and mortar. As the masonry fell, Oberyn pointed to a small antechamber for storage of equipment of a sally force. "The beast will never fit in there." The bear was still lunging and clawing at any sound and just missed Tyene with razor sharp claws as they both darted into the small antechamber and closed the small door. "Keep silent. We will let the beast act as our sentry from the wolves." said Oberyn. "On the morrow we will go directly down to the Gates of the Moon and leave the pleasure of exploring these castle fortifications until later!"
Up in the Eyrie, Obara had received the Raven from the Gates of the Moon and had shared its contents with the Lords of the Vale. Lord Royce said, "We must go at once. We cannot sit idly here while the vermin Freys are plundering the Vale. Speed is our greatest advantage, catch them in open country, the mounted Dornish lancers against the ponderously armored troops from The Twins!"
"Very well," said Nymeria, "We depart at dawn."

(You mean to attack the Freys with cavalry through a narrow passage? I hardly think that'll work, what do you think the Freys will do to you if you lose? Do you remember the Hilltribesmen?

Littlefinger and the Tarly's
Lord Tywin needed allies in the Reach, the Tyrells are in decline and the Lannisters are stepping in to aid them. Grand Maester Pycelle suggested the most powerful vassal to the Tyrells. The Tarly's of Horn Hill were the most during and powerful of the Tyrell vassals, Lord Randyll had 8,000 troops; those troops could be vital to the Lannisters controlling the Reach. Tyrion received the orders from Tywin and dispatched Littlefinger to Horn Hill. Concurrently with the ongoing push into Tyrell lands.

Arriving at Horn Hill
Littlefinger arrived at Horn Hill with his escort and some troops he picked up on the Ocean Road from Lorch's camp. The force quickly moved across the Reach around the Tyrell patrols around Highgarden, Littlefinger dismounted from his horse meeting with Lord Randyll and his favoured son Dickon.
"Ah, Lord Randyll Tarly; the only man ever to best the mighty Robert Baratheon, it is an honour to make your acquaintance. I am Petyr Baelish, Master of Coin to Casterly Rock. I've come with a proposal, I hope you'd lend me your ears" said Littlefinger amicably.
"Lord Baelish, welcome to Horn Hill. I am Randyll, of House Tarly; this is my son Dickon. I hear your Lord is moving against the Tyrells. Do you know of our pledge? Do you think you're safe here?' asked Randyll.
"You could have your men gut me or throw me off a cliff or feed me to the dogs in the kennels of your ostentatious hall; yet do you not honour the courtesy of a guest in your hall without first hearing what I have to say?" replied Littlefinger
"Hmmm, I'm not dishonourable; I'm a military man. I'll award you visitation rights, come you must be famished after your long journey; we have skewered some prized venison." Invited Randyll.
Sitting round the great table of Horn Hill; Randyll and Littlefinger spoke of the proposal,
"You want me to abandon my pledge to the Tyrells? To Lady Olenna and Lord Mace, people I have know for almost five decades?" asked Randyll.
"Your pledge? To a crumbling and once great House. Lord Tywin doesn't wish for you to abandon your pledge to the Tyrells. We want the Tarly's to become the new Wardens of the South, keep the Tyrell's under house arrest at Highgarden; you'll be well funded and well provided for, you'll have our backing. We'll need the Tarly army to take Highgarden"
Randyll's eyes darted back and forth to Dickon and then to Littlefinger.
"You'll offer the Tyrells a chance to surrender, I won't fight unless given no alternative" informed Randyll.
"Of course, we'll pursue any offer of peace necessary" assured Littlefinger.
"Then we have an accord, we'll secure the allegiance of the Florents" Littlefinger and Randyll shook hands, the finalisation of an alliance between Casterly Rock and Horn Hill. Randyll left to organise his troops while Littlefinger acquainted Dickon with some of his associates.

THE BATTLE OF HIGHGARDEN
Prelude to the Battle
- Lord Tywin gathered his force at the banks of the Cockleswent, Kevan at the eastern banks of the Mander, Amory along the Ocean Road and Randyll on the southern banks of the Mander. Tywin knew that the Tyrells weren't fighters, but they did have a strategic advantage in Highgarden; plus they still had the support of the Redwyne's and the Hightowers. The Tyrells had 33,500 men compared to the 63,000 men of the Lannister host, but Tywin had a grand masterplan, surrounding the Tyrells on four sides.
From the north of Highgarden, the Third Westerlands Army of 15,000 troops under Lord Kevan Lannister, from the west came the Fourth Westerlands Army of 12,000 troops under General Amory Lorch, looking westwards was the host of the First Westerlands Army of 28,000, the largest Lannister force commanded personally by Lord Tywin Lannister. Finally, from the south was the newest Lannister Army, the First Reachlands Army of 8,000 under the seasoned Lord Randyll Tarly.
Tywin surrounded the Tyrell capital on four sides with four military camps to prepare for the inevitable siege. The main camp was chosen as Kevan's to the north. The siege engines were set up, scorpions to pellet archers, onagers to weaken positions, vantage points and strongholds, trebuchets to damage critical areas and areas of respite and ribauldequins for anti personnel use. The Lannister deployed precise longbowmen and more accurate crossbowmen, swords, spears, pikes and javelinmen in positions to attack key positions if necessary.
Tywin and Kevan sat in the main tent enjoying some fish for supper, Ser Gregor stood behind Tywin taciturn as ever. Randyll and Amory entered the tent to discuss battleplans, Tywin motioned them to sit down.
"My lords, we are hear to discuss our plans; Lady Olenna is about as obdurate as I am, her ponderous oaf of a son and her grandchildren. Margaery is a beautiful young woman, a prized mare ready to ripened. Loras is a renown pillow biter, yet if the Tyrells wish to survive they should agree to marry him to someone important. I want them in my pocket and I will have them." informed Tywin.
"What of Olenna?" inquired Kevan.
"Olenna would be useful, she knows the game. I'd rather not dispose of her, but if her stubborness prevails" Turning to the Mountain, "I think you understand".
The Mountain grasps his sword and nodded to Tywin. Who returned a small slender smile.
"And her son?' added Randyll.
"Mace is a ponderous fool, he's pompous, portly and prevailingly orotund, Mace is expendable but for the benefit of the Tyrells; keep him alive." replied Tywin.
"Should we start bombardment my lord? We could use the trebuchets or onagers?" asked Amory
"No Amory, first we'll ride to the gates of Highgarden to negotiate, if it fails; open fire and hit the soft spots with the siege equipment and our marksmen" returned Tywin.
Brief: Tywin and Olenna exchange barbed words, Tywin threatens Olenna, Olenna tries to bait him, Randyll tries to talk Olenna around, Olenna remains obdurate, Margaery sees sense, orders House Tyrell to stand down, Lannisters enter Highgarden, Tyrells carted off to CR, Tywin, Kevan and Lorch return to CR. Randyll Tarly made Warden of the South, reforms the Tarly force of 23,000 men to protect the Lannister interest in the Northern Reach.)
(I wrote a lot but my network crashed, so I briefed it)

The Bloody Gate to Riverrun
A raven landed in the makeshift rookery of Black Walder's camp, a Frey scout brought the message to Walder who was conferring with Harys and Athlas on how to move against the Eyrie. The scout approach the table and placed the message before Walder.
"My lord, a message from the Twins, from your father"'
Walder opened the message and read it intently, shaking with rage passing it to Harys and Athlas.
"Does my c*nt of a father, think i'm unworthy of such a mission. He's ordering me back to Riverrun, to abandon the Vale; you can't be happy Ser Athlas, surely?" writhed Black Walder.
"No my lord, I will go where my liege goes; I swore an oath to House Frey. I don't care about some shi**hole in the Vale; I'd rather f*ck up some Tullys" cackled Athlas.
"Spoken like a true Frey lad, I agree with Ser Athlas; my Lord" added Harys.
"Well then, lets go to f*ckin Riverrun and string up some Tullys. Dismantle the camp, saddle up, oh and salt the fields. We'll move to Harroway, then the Inn of the Kneeling Man and then to Riverrun." ordered Walder

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 12
Darkstar was in the midst of planning the invasion of The Reach when two Ravens arrived in Wyl. The first was from Lord Blackmont who would lead the Dornish forces from Blackmont against Oldtown with the expectation that the Seneschal would surrender rather than risk destruction of the Library. Lord Blackmont's message simply said, "House Tyrell of Highgarden has ceased to exist." The second Raven was from Ser Arthur Dayne, "Agreement reached with Lord Tywin Lannister. Take 500 Gold Dragons to Horn Hill in payment for removing the vermin Freys from the Vale. Pacify the Hightowers and the Redwynes so they do not hinder House Lannister's occupation of Highgarden. Dorne's lands will now extend to a northern limit of Horn Hill and Brightwater Keep."
Darkstar called the commanders of the Home Guards and Reserves to the flagship lying at anchor in Wyl. "There has been a negotiation with Tywin Lannister. Dorne will take Horn Hill and Brightwater Keep and everything south inside the Reach. We will move from the ruined castle at Vulture's Roost through the hidden pass in the Red Mountains and catch the people of the Reach by surprise, while they they are confused by the loss of House Tyrell, and the invasion of the Northern Reach by the Lannisters. We will advance with speed to Horn Hill and Brightwater Keep. Part of this mission will be to transport 500 Gold Dragons to Horn Hill. Any questions?"
The commander of the Wyl garrison spoke up, "Since when do Dornishmen pay Lannisters? Dorne was the only one of the Seven Kingdoms that did not fall to Aegon the Conqueror!" Ser Gerold Dayne replied with a hint of anger in his voice, "I know the history of Dorne, Commander. The 500 Gold Dragons is simply an expression of gratitude for the Lannisters removal of their underlings, House Frey, from the Vale. The Vale is worth far more than 500 Gold Dragons. It would have been more fun to fertilize the Vale with Frey blood, but we will have plenty of time to kill worthless Freys in the future."
Darkstar spoke to the Captain of the Reserves, "Send Ravens to the Hightowers and the Redwynes, advising them that House Tyrell has ceased to exist, and we have negotiated an agreement with Lord Tywin Lannister. They are not under any circumstances to attempt a defense of Highgarden."
"Send a Raven to Lord Blackmont and tell him to move against Oldtown immediately. Assemble our troops we depart for Vulture's Roost in one hour."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 13
Prince Oberyn Martell held up his finger in front of his lips for Tyene Sand to keep silent. The Giant Mountain Bear, crippled and blind, still slashed the air at imagined foes with razor-like claws. Around the Bear lay bodies of dead wolves who had tried in vain to bring down the wounded Bear.
Prince Oberyn carefully raked the hilt of his spear across the stone floor. With a roar of challenge, the great beast turned his head toward the sound. The spear point flashed outward, slicing through the Bear's throat. The Bear gave one final lunge, crashed into the wall, then lay still as blood formed a growing pool all around it.
"Come, my dear. The world awaits," said the Prince.
High above, in The Eyrie, Nymeria and Obara were organizing the still recovering Lords of the Vale for the descent down the mountainside. Nymeria said, "I will lead. We will be lashed together by climbing ropes. I know this group is still weakened from the poison smoke so we will proceed slowly and carefully with frequent rest stops. Three archers armed with poison arrows will be at the end of the coffel, just in case we encounter any trouble, or any of you should be tempted to move against me while my back is turned." "Now march!"
It was a beautiful sunlit morning and the Vale spread below like a beautiful green emerald. "This is a beautiful place," thought Nymeria, "So different from Dorne. But Dorne makes us strong and sturdy, while the easy life here makes the people soft and flabby."
Further down the slope, Oberyn and Tyene had come to the next guard castle. This time they moved silently past, wary of any scavengers that may have been attracted by the smell of death to lurk inside.
At the base of the mountain in the Gates of the Moon, Lord Nestor Royce had at last been convinced to bend the knee to Dorne. Upon hearing from Lord Horton Redfort of the treason by the Knight of the Gate, Lord Royce volunteers to lead an assault on the gate with the sole purpose of killing or capturing the Knight of the Gate. As battle plans are being formulated, one of the Dorneish spies arrives with the news that the Frey host is withdrawing. "A Lannister pays his debts," muttered Ser Arthur Dayne, "Lord Redfort, take your entire command and accompany Lord Royce to the Blood Gate. Do as you will with the Knight of the Gate, but see if the troops at the Gate will join us, if not, then use the smoke, I don't want to waste time with a siege. The Bloody Gate must be controlled by loyal troops!"

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 1
Darkstar ordered the Captain of the Flagship to move 500 Gold Dragons from the ship's treasury to the shore for transport with the troops. Lord Anders Yronwood with his Yronwood reserves received the gold when it reached the shore. "Men of Yronwood!" he shouted, "We have been entrusted with this treasure of Dorne! We shall guard it with our lives till it safely reaches its intended destination!" Lord Yronwood's column then fell into step with the rest of the Dornishmen as they marched out of Wyl toward Vulture's Roost.
Lord Fowler, Dorne's Warden of the Prince's Pass, spoke to Ser Gerold Dayne as they moved out of Wyl, "My Lord, the ancient hidden pass from Vulture's Roost will allow the element of surprise for us in The Reach, but a portion of that path passes through the Southwest portion of the Stormlands, we risk detection by patrols from Nightsong." Darkstar replied, "The hidden pass has not been used in recent history. It is doubtful that patrols from Nightsong even know of its existence, but if we do meet a patrol they will not live to tell the tale."
Across the Dornish Peninsula, Lord Blackmont was likewise marching his force along the left fork of the river into the Red Mountains towards the objective of Oldtown. "We will follow the stream to its source in the mountains, then turn due west towards Oldtown. The path over the crest of the Red Mountains and down the western slope is difficult. It will reduce our speed considerably. Dornishmen are used to riding in a desert not on a mountain, but the loss in speed is offset by the surprise we will spring on Oldtown."
The stream grew shallower and narrower the higher into the mountains Lord Blackmont led them, until finally they reached the bubbling mountain spring that was the source. "Rest here, and water the horses," Lord Blackmont commanded, "The worst part of our journey still lies ahead." Storm clouds could be seen along the mountain peaks to the Northeast. "The Stormlands," said Lord Manwoody of Kingsgrave, "Let us hope that Darkstar and his men have reached shelter in Vulture's Roost!"

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 2
Lord Blackmont led the Dornishmen out of the Red Mountains and into the Dornish Marches near the ancient Castle of Whitegrove. Rather than risk a delay in reaching Oldtown, Lord Blackmont completely bypassed the Whitegrove area. The descent from the the mountains had been grueling for the men of Dorne, but their spirits were lifted when the Smallfolk of the Marches came out to cheer them onward.
Dornishmen had always come into the Dornish Marches during both times of war and times of peace, and many of the Smallfolk had friends from Dorne. Now that House Tyrell had ceased to exist, the common people had decided that rule by Dorne was preferable to oppression under House Lannister. The cheers of the Smallfolk lifted the spirits of Lord Blackmont's men and the pace quickened.
Away from the mountain slopes, the Dornish horses began to show their famous speed. Soon the Red Mountains were far behind them as they sped through the Dornish Marches. Anon the Hightower of the The Citadel could be seen in the far distance. Lord Blackmont commanded Lord Manwoody, that upon reaching Oldtown, a Dornish Pavilion be erected outside the city's gates and the Seneschal invited to meet with them.
The Dornish host assembled outside of Oldtown as the astonished House Hightower guardsmen looked down from the wall. The great Dornish pavilion was erected, and a messenger was sent requesting a meeting with Lord Hightower and the Seneschal. Then the Dornishmen settled down to wait.
After a long while Lord Leyton Hightower appeared on the battlements. "Blackmont!" he shouted, "What is the meaning of this? Do you intend to besiege Oldtown?" "Lord Hightower," answered Lord Blackmont, "If we had wanted to attack you, we would have already done so. House Tyrell has ceased to exist. We need to talk with you and the Seneschal concerning the future. You have my word that no harm will befall you." Lord Hightower thought for a moment, "Then send Lords Qorgyle, Uller, and Manwoody to us as a token of your sincerity and they will be returned after we are safely back inside Oldtown." "Agreed!" shouted Blackmont.
Lord Uller, famous for his irascibility, had to be disarmed and bound before he was sent into Oldtown, but Lords Qorgyle and Manwoody entered the gates willingly as soon as Lord Hightower, and the Seneschal, accompanied by Archmaester Sandhu exited from Oldtown. As soon as the three were seated in the Dornish Pavilion, Lord Hightower spoke, "Now explain why there is a Dornish host encamped outside of House Hightower's ancestral home!"
Lord Blackmont answered, "House Tyrell is gone, and we have reached an agreement with House Lannister. As I'm sure that you know, Lannister forces have invaded the North of The Reach and moved on Highgarden. They have agreed to cede the South of The Reach to Dorne." Archmaester Sandhu shouted, "So you come as conquers!" The Seneschal said, "If so, then you are fools. The Mazemakers of Lorath formed the foundation of the Tower on Battle Isle. Ancient spells woven into its very walls and into the very ground upon which it sits, from long before the time of the First Men, ward The Citadel from any invader."
"We are not here as invaders. The Library here is mankind's greatest depository of knowledge," was the reply, "we seek to replace House Tyrell as the protectors of Oldtown and all of the Southern portion of The Reach. We desire that you accept us willingly rather than by blood and sword as the Lannister forces are using to take the North of The Reach. You know us. Oberyn Martell of Sunspear has studied in The Citadel, the Smallfolk in the Dornish Marches accept us, we have surrendered three of our greatest Lords to you as a sign of good faith. The decision is yours."
The Seneschal said, "This must be decided by the Conclave in consultation with House Hightower. Your Lords will be returned when a decision has been reached. You have my word."
An astonished Lord Blackmont could only watch them return through the Oldtown gates.

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 3
The storm came up the northern slopes of the Red Mountains from the Stormlands, crested the peaks like a lioness leaping down upon her prey, then smashed into Darkstar's column of troops like a battering ram. Lighting bolts split the sky and rolling thunder spooked the desert-born horses, some raced headlong off of the mountainside, so suddenly that their riders could neither gain control, nor leap from their saddles to safety. Then came the wind, so strong that it threatened to push the entire cavalcade off of the trail and into the depths of the valley far below. "Hold the pack horses with the gold!" shouted Lord Anders Yronwood to his men just before hailstones the size of a man's fists began to pummel them. "Shields high!" commanded Darkstar, "Quick March to Vulture's Roost!"
With shields held above their head to offer some protection from the punishing hail, the lightly armored Dornishmen began a quick-march towards Vulture's Roost, while leading their terrified horses, and attempting to keep their footing as the ice collected on the mountain path. Men fell, slipping and sliding into the depths below, horses bolted to their deaths, supplies fell from horseback and vanished before riders could collect them. Then miraculously Vulture's Roost was in front of them. "Quickly inside, shelter the horses!" seemed to be shouted by all the commanders at once.
Vulture's Roost, a castle long abandoned as being too remote to be garrisoned by any Noble House, was but a shell, but the ruined halls and chambers still offered refuge from the pounding of the storm. "Lord Fowler, give me a casualty report for men and horses!" commanded Darkstar, "Lord Yronwood, report the status of our supplies and equipment! And what of the treasury your men transported?"
"My Lord," replied Lord Anders Yronwood speaking very slowly, "I do not see those men."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 14
The Vanguard, composed of galloping Lancers from Lord Redfort's force, surprised Frey men still attempting to salt the fertile fields near the Bloody Gate, and quickly rode them down. The poison lance tips even brought down the ones who managed to avoid being completely impaled.
Then the rudimentary barricades, which exhibited the usual shoddy work of the men of House Frey, were quickly surmounted. As the horses of the mounted lancers leapt over, the rear guards who had lingered inside the Bloody Gate met the same fate as had the troops among the crops. "Close the gate! To the top of the wall!" shouted the Captain of the Vanguard. As the Dornishmen reached the top of the Bloody Gate, they were astonished to see Archers of the Vale.
"We were ordered to loose arrows on you to cover the withdrawal of the bloody Freys and Ser Athlas. We will not aid the enemies of The Vale!" said one of the lead archers. "We thank you!" said the Dornish Captain, "We could never have vanquished their rear guards under a rain of arrows from the top of the Bloody Gate. And do not fear your decision. Lord Redfort and Lord Nestor Royce will arrive soon. You still fight for your homes in The Vale."
After their arrival Lord Royce asked the lead archer how long Ser Athlas had been gone. "I am charged with bringing the treasonous Knight of the Gate to justice," He said. "Overtaking him would be difficult, My Lord, even on these Dornish mounts. He is far advanced towards the Riverlands by now, at the head of the column riding alongside the Brothers Frey. You would have to cut your way through their entire host to ever reach him." "Lord Royce," said Lord Redfort, "Justice may wait a little longer. Now we must ensure that the Vale is secure. Ser Symond Templeton is not on the coast to command our defenses. We are exposed to an invasion by sea."
"What of the dead Frey troops?" asked the Captain of the Vanguard. "Drag them into the fields," came the reply, "Their blood and decaying flesh shall fertilize the land they sought to despoil."

Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 15
Prince Oberyn Martell and Tyene Sand arrived at the Gates of the Moon after avoiding the remaining guard castle and descending the rest of the way down the mountain. "Prince Oberyn!" cried Ser Arthur Dayne, "Welcome! You and the lovely Tyene have arrived just in time." "What news?" ask the Prince. "Lord Redfort and Lord Royce have retaken the Bloody Gate after the Frey invaders withdrew. Lord Redfort now commands the troops who were under Darkstar. A contingent of the gate guards had remained loyal to The Vale." The Prince asked, "What of the Knight of the Gate?" "Sadly, he proved to be a traitor and cast his lot with the treacherous Brothers Frey." "Too bad, Ser Athlas was once a worthy Knight of The Vale." "And Nymeria is bringing the Vale's Nobles down the mountain aided by three archers. Their coffel should arrive anon."
The Prince said, "I made the decision to leave our reconnaissance-in-force garrisoned in The Eyrie under Obara's command since the disposition of the invasion was unknown." "An understandable tactic," replied Ser Arthur,"We should have sufficient force to hold the Vale now that the Lords of The Vale are bending knees to us." "What of Darkstar in The Reach?" "I fear Darkstar may have encountered difficulty. We have received no messages from him since he departed the Flagship in Wyl." "Then what are your plans?"
Ser Arthur Dayne replied, "I am sorely tempted to send Lord Royce in pursuit of Ser Athlas and the doltish Brothers, but our advantages of speed and quickness would be lost in narrow pass, and as you said Ser Athlas is a skilled warrior who would know how to use that topography to his advantage. I think better would be to consolidate our control of the Vale. Then for political expediency, allow the Banner Houses here to choose their new Liege Lord from amongst you, Darkstar, and Areo Hotah." Areo Hotah, just returning from an inspection of the defensive preparations at the Gates of the Moon said, "My Lord, I am of The Bearded Priests, and I am sworn to:'Serve. Obey. Protect.' I do not rule!" "Nonsense!" said Ser Arthur Dayne, "You are an excellent commander, and in any case, if the Banners chose you, I would order you to assume that position. You must 'obey,' remember?"
Ser Arthur Dayne ordered Maester Colemon to send Ravens to all the Banners in the Vale to assemble at the the Gates of the Moon to choose a new Liege Lord. "Ser Symond Templeton will be exempt from that request since he must return posthaste to command the coastal defenses." "Then send a Raven to The Twins and thank Lord Walder Frey for the excellent feterlizer for the Vale's crops, that his sons left behind for us, when they fled like frightened dogs with tails between their legs."

The Iron Islands
Areo Hotah of Norvos approached Ser Arthur Dayne as he bent over the table in the audience chamber and intently studied a map of the Riverlands. "My Lord," said Areo. Arthur Dayne reluctantly looked up from the map, "Yes, Areo, what is it?" "Our spies in The Iron Islands report that The Greyjoys of Pyke will cease to exist in two days. Do you want to make an amphibious assault on Pyke when House Greyjoy ends?"
"No, my friend. We dare not extend our forces any further. The Brothers Frey may be idiots, but Lord Walder Frey is a shrewd old man, and cunning Lord Tywin Lannister pulls the strings of his Frey marionettes. We will need all the combined strength of Dorne, The Vale, and the Southern portion of The Reach to defeat them. Sadly, we will have to leave The Iron Islands to their fate. Order our spies to keep us advised of the situation in Pyke."
"Yes, My Lord, at once!"
"And Areo."
"My Lord?"
"You should prepare to sail for Wyl. There is still no word from Darkstar, and I fear the worst."
Maester Colemon approached with a small parchment in his hand, "My Lords," he said, "A new message from the spies in The Iron Islands, The Greyjoys of Pyke will survive, they are too clever to cease to exist. It is actually House Glover of Deepwood Motte which will end!"
"Areo, delay your departure to find Darkstar. I will need you here for the meeting with the Lords of the Vale. Darkstar must continue on his own," ordered Ser Arthur Dayne, "As for House Glover, we will leave them to the Lords of the North and to the greedy Lannisters."
Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 16
Nymeria Sand arrived at the Gates of the Moon with the coffel of the Vale's Nobles accompanied by three archers. "Welcome, Lords and Ladies!" shouted Maester Colemon. Nymeria replied, "Lady, not Ladies! Only Lady Anya Waynwood, for I am no Lady."
Lady Waynwood spoke, "This lady is tired and sick, Maester Colemon. The poison from the smoke still lingers in my body. I require your healing skills." "As do we all," said Ser Vardis Egan. "My Lords and Lady of The Vale," said Ser Arthur Dayne, "Please convalesce here under the care of Maester Colemon. We face a time of decisions and we will need to be at our best. I shall propose that the Lords of the Vale choose a new Lord Paramount of the Vale from amongst my three commanders, Prince Oberyn Martell of Sunspear, Ser Gerold Dayne of the High Hermitage as called Darkstar, and Areo Hotah of The Bearded Priests of Norvos."
Spurred to speak by his rising anger, Lord Yohn Royce said, "Surely you jest! The Prince is too licentious to ever rule The Vale. Darkstar is little more than a sword wielding cutthroat. Areo Hotah is nothing but a butler with an axe. None of them are fit to become Lord Paramount of the Vale." "Hold your tongue!" commanded Ser Arthur Dayne, "Or I will have the Butler with an Axe remove the tongue from your mouth! You will show my Commanders the proper respect! There will be a choice made for Lord Paramount, even if there is no House Royce to participate."
"Maester Colemon has already sent Ravens with the notifications to the other noble Houses of The Vale. The other Lords will come here. I suggest that you all use this time to recuperate, and try not to anger any Dornish, or your protection from the Guest Right here at the Gates of the Moon will be forfit."

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 4
Ser Gerold Dayne was bloodied and covered with a glaze of ice on his Dornish armor from the relentless hailstorm. He seemed exhausted as he spoke. "Lord Yronwood, where are the Five-hundred Gold Dragons?" "My Lord," Yronwood replied, "The gold and the closest men escorting it are not here. It is impossible to search for them in this storm. Perhaps they found shelter along the path?" "The damn Stormlands!" swore Darkstar, "We saw no shelter on the path here. They must have been swept over the edge by the icy winds. You will find the gold, Lord Yronwood , or you will die trying, do you understand?" "Yes, my Lord," was the soft reply.
Lord Fowler spoke, "Lord Dayne, the Raven cages were smashed by the hailstones. Those few birds not killed outright have fled into the storm, we cannot communicate our situation."
"We will deal with that on the morrow. Rest the horses, tend the wounded, this storm looks to last through night!"
To the west, across the Dornish Marches, outside the very walls of Oldtown, Lord Blackmont feeling betrayed by the holding of the Dornish Lords as hostages, was surreptitiously preparing to use the poison smoke. "My Lord," said the man-at-arms mixing the powder, "Will not the Archmaesters be proof against this poison?"
"Some will have acquired an immunity from their years in mixing poisons, and others will be able to quickly prepare an antidote after exposure, but destruction of the Archmaesters and all of their learning is not our intent. It is the Hightower troops who will drop like flies. We will preserve The Citadel after the surviving Archmaesters submit to us."
"What of The Three Dornish Lords being held inside?"
"If their immunity from the antidote has worn off, then they will die. I have no desire to deal with an angry Lord Uller anyway!"

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 5
As preparation for the attack on Old Town was nearing completion Lord Hightower returned to the Great Pavilion. "A decision has been reached," he said, "We have learned of of the fall of The Eyrie and while the Archmaesters are confident that their spells could defeat you, I lack their faith in magic. We bend the knee to Dorne on the condition that you protect us from the greed of House Lannister, and all other foes who may wish to steal the knowledge of The Citadel."
"Agreed!" said Lord Blackmont, "What of our Lords that you hold?"
"They are free and are now our honored guests, with the exception of Lord Uller. He will be returned to you in chains, and I pity the men who are near him when he is unfettered.
"One more bit of news for you. We have received word that The Wise Masters of Slavers Bay have ceased to exist. It would make a rich target in the future once the threat of House Lannister has been eliminated. Come inside! The Guest Right now protects both you and your great host."
"We are honored by your xenodochy," said Lord Blackmont, "But let us keep the chains on Lord Uller for a little while longer!"

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 6
Daybreak found the remains of Darkstar's great cavalcade huddled within the ruins of ancient Vulture's Roost as the savagery of the storm abated. "That was truly a demon sent from the Old Gods in the Stormlands," muttered Lord Yronwood, as he hand picked his party of men-at-arms to begin the search for the missing Gold Dragons. "Mount up!" He commanded, "and mind that the mounts you have chosen are steady enough for that icy trail. We will search until the gold is found, or we will die trying!"
"May The Seven guide you!" shouted Lord Fowler. Darkstar stood silently beside him with a look of anger on his face.
The search party moved down the mountainside, carefully picking its way around the frozen bodies of men, pack animals, war horses, and the ravens in their smashed cages. "What a disaster," mumbled Lord Yronwood, "perhaps the devilish Lannisters have resorted to employing witches and Blood Magic against us." He notice one of his men attempting to salvage bags of hardtack from a dead horse still showing the appallingly open and gaping wounds from the massive hailstones. "Leave it!" He commanded, "We will collect anything that we can, but only after we find the gold."
The man-at-arms reluctantly dropped the supply bags and rejoined the search party. Some men had apparently died frozen against the mountainside as they sought nonexistent shelter, while attempting to avoid the fall over the precipice on the other side of the pathway. "Mind the footing!" Shouted Yronwood, "the path is solid ice here!" With many prayers to the Mother and the Warrior, they made a safe crossing of the ice.
Suddenly Lord Yronwood raised his arm, "Halt! Silence! Listen!" The sound came again, a faint cry of help from over the cliff edge. Yronwood crawled slowly over the icy rock to the edge of the precipice. Carefully extending his head over the edge he looked down into the abyss. "There is a poor bastard on the outcropping ledge below us. Somehow he is still alive."
"My Lord," said the nearest man-at-arms, "we may lose more men attempting the rescue of a dying man. It would be most merciful to end his suffering with an arrow." "No," said the Lord, "I recognize him. He was with the men guarding the Gold Dragons. He may be able to tell us what happened. Unpack the climbing equipment. We shall rappel down to him, secure him with rope, then bring him up to safety." "My Lord, there be few of us with the courage for that!" "I will not order any man to do so. The gold was entrusted to my protection. I only ask that you assist me with the ropes as I go down to him," replied Lord Yronwood. Then he shuddered as he looked over the edge.
Dorne Casts Eyes Towards The Vale Part 17, the Fall of King's Landing
Maester Colemon burst into the Audience Chamber. "My Lord!" he cried out, "Word from The Citadel! Old Town has bent the knee to Dorne, and The Seneschal reports that the vile Freys and Lannisters have ceased to exist!"
"Can this be true?" asked Ser Arthur Dayne, "It could be a another dastardly Lannisters plot to lead us out of the protection of The Vale and into the filthy hands of the Freys."
"No, My Lord, The Seneschal would not give a false report. Only The Greyjoys of Pyke remain on the Iron Islands to oppose you."
"Then we gather our host and march at once for King's Landing to claim the Iron Throne. Send a Raven to Obara and tell her to rule The Vale in our absence. Summon the Banners here in the Vale and have them follow us in a second wave to King's Landing under Areo's command. The Prince will ride with me. He has some debts to collect in that city."
The Dornish troops were used to rapid movement and deployment. Additional men and supplies were collected from the Vale as they rode for the Bloody Gate. Then without stopping they were through the Bloody Gate and down the mountain pass. The horsemen drove the swift desert steeds without mercy until the towers of King's Landing could be seen in the distance. Then Ser Arthur Dayne halled a halt. "Rest the horsed he said. The Seneschal was correct. We saw no Freys or Lannisters on the way."
Prince Oberyn Martell spoke up, "The destruction of both House Frey and House Lannister could only have been accomplished by the Faceless Men, or through Blood Magic. I like this not. I prefer to see my enemies die on the end of my spear!"
"We shall see what the Seven Wills!" said Arthur Dayne, "Mount up! Forward!"
The astonished Dornishmen met no resistance as they rode into the City of King's Landing and claimed all of the Seven Kingdoms for Dorne!
A Proclimation by His Majesty, King Arthur Dayne of Starfall, First of His Name, Decendant of First Men, Kings of the Torrentine, and Lords of Starfall, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm:
Whereas The Vale, The Dreadfort, The Twins of the Crossing, Deepwood Motte, Highgarden, Slavers Bay, Casterly Rock, and now King's Landing have been abandoned by their Noble Houses and thus are forfeited to Dorne.
Therefore, I King Arthur Dayne, by this royal proclamation, do declare total victory in Westeros Total War.
In our magnanimity, we will allow The Kingdom of The Greyjoys of Pyke to exist upon the barren Iron Islands unmolested for as long as they do not trouble our people in The Seven Kingdoms.
So let it be throughout our Realm, both now and forevermore.

Dorne Goes Into The Reach Part 7
Lord Anders Yronwood began to rappel down to the wounded survivor. The ropes were stiff from the ice and difficult for his men to hold. With terrifying jerking and perilous sudden drops, he eventually reach the helpless soldier.
"The Mother bless you, My Lord," said the injured man.
"Calm your fears," commanded Lord Yronwood, "we will lift you to safety, but tell me, what has become of the 500 Gold Dragons?"
"My Lord, will not believe me," he cried out, "it was an unreal nightmare!"
"Speak man! I command you!"
"It were shadows, my Lord! Shadows that fell down on us with the hailstones. Shadows that seized the gold from the backs of the horses, shadows that pushed both horse and man over the edge, and shadows that flew away into the darkness!"
"Blood Magic!" exclaimed Lord Yronwood, "I knew that storm was unnatural! What can you remember of these shadows?"
"My Lord, they were only shadows, I could tell nothing of their form but that they wore loose robes, like the Red Priests of R’hllor, the Lord of Light."

Oh Glorious Day!
Let every heart be glad!
For this is the day that George Raymond Richard Martin was born!
Their shall be peace this day throughout this land with much feasting and celebration!
By Command of His Majesty, King Arthur Dayne of Starfall, First of His Name, Decendant of First Men, Kings of the Torrentine, and Lords of Starfall, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm.
