Regional Government Proposal

The Government is divided into two institutions: Executive Commission(Executive Branch) and The Great Region Assembly(Legislative/Judicial)

Every new nationstate that joins this region may become a member of the Assembly upon gaining citizenship (if we want that) and by gaining recognition by the Assembly.

The Great Region Assembly
The Great Region Assembly has full legislative power which includes:

  • Proposal and Passing Laws

  • Recognizing new nationstates to join the Assembly

  • Electing the leader.

  • Overturning executive action if necessary

TGR Assembly also has moderate Judicial Power which includes:

  • conducting trials

  • banning or ejecting a nationstate

  • voting to remove the Executive if necessary.

every nationstate upon gaining recognition by the Assembly becomes a member of the Assembly.

The Assembly is a bicameral legislature and is divided into two parts:

  • Senate of the Great Region

  • Federal Council of the Great Region

for every three members added to the Council two are added to the Senate.

Senate of The Great Region

  • Is the Upper House of The Great Region Assembly.

  • Conducts Trials if necessary and submits the trial to the Council for voting.

  • Can propose to close Embassies.

  • Can vote to create new Departments in the Executive Commission.

  • Senators may nominate a nationstate be added to the Senate when the region grows and the population has increased requiring more representation.

  • Can convict someone for a crime.

  • Is headed by the Senate Speaker who is appointed by the Executive

Federal Council of the Great Region

  • Is the Lower House of The Great Region

  • Is responsible for voting on all matters and on all laws proposed in the Council, by the Executive or by the Senate.

  • Acts as the Jury during trials, and will vote to either make a convicted nationstate guilty or not guilty after the trial has been conducted by the Senate.

  • Is headed by the Council Chairman who is elected by the Council.

  • Elects the President.

The Executive Commission runs the Region on a day to day basis and is the Executive Force of the region which has the power to enforce the laws passed by The Great Region Assembly.

The Executive Commission is made up of:

  • The Founder (Ceremonial Head of State)

  • The President (Head of State and Government)

  • The Vice President (Optional; not a required position)

  • Secretaries of the Commission Departments

  • WA Delegate

The Founder

  • The Founder is the Ceremonial Head of State for our region and represents the Region in Inter-regional/International events.

  • The Founder has the power to propose a dismissal of Executive Officers to the Senate if the Founder thinks they are not fulfilling their job.

  • The Founder may break a tie vote during Elections of President.

The President and Vice President

  • The President can be a member of the Council or the Senate.

  • The President is elected by the Council.

  • The President can serve three consecutive terms after which he/she must wait one term before being eligible to run again.

  • The President can release Executive Orders to direct Commission Departments or to enforce laws.

  • The President appoints secretaries of the Commission Departments and nominates the WA Delegate and Nominates the Senate Speaker.

  • The President can be the WA Delegate while serving as President.

  • The President can be dismissed by a Impeachment Vote by the Council.

  • The Vice President is a figure head who will become the President if the President resigns or is impeached.

  • The Vice President may serve as a Department Secretary.

Commission Departments

  • Commission Departments are Executive Departments of Government which is headed by a Secretary who oversees its functions.

  • a Secretary is appointed by the President and must be confirmed by the Senate if they are in session.

  • New Commission Departments may be added by a proposal from the Senate.

  • The President can appoint and dismiss Secretaries at any time.

  • The WA Delegate acts as a Secretary but oversees the region's interest in the WA

Term length for our government is 3 months

- President serves a 3 month term (limit of three consecutive terms before waiting)
- President is not required to be members of Federal Council or Senate but can be
- If President is WA Delegate he or she has executive powers
- Founder plays minimal role

Term limit for the assembly is 3.5 months
