Dashers History Textbook Vol. 1

I: Founding
Dashers was founded on May 19, 2018 on one of the lost islands of Epinadia(old) that has long since gone underwater due to rising ocean levels.

Using innovative techniques and assistance from Malathen (who introduced me to the game irl), we expanded our island artificially and linked it to the Malathenese peninsula. And then we expanded because our population was growing very rapidly. This occured over a course of many “roleplay years.”

At that time, Mardatan and Britannica and eire held a lot of power. And, Cresium was still the queen. the password to old Epinadia was “CRES”.

II: The Great Migration
The first sign of Epinadia failing was when Cresium ditched. Then, one by one, the OG Epinadians left. First Anti-prussia and Bellcrane. And then Mardatan, and Anglic, and so on. And then Brittanica and Eire CTEd.

But, a newcomer, Nort prestinia and one of the OGs, Unrealistia, would not give up. They founded New Epinadia on June 2nd, 2018.

Malathen soon left for New Epinadia, and so did I. For a very long time, we were an isolationist, microregion with a few stragglers from old Epinadia.

Then, a miracle happened. Nort was offering an officer position to any of us because of Malathen’s inactivity. I took the job gladly.

III: Sudden Growth
I did the best I could to find embassies and recruit new members. Pretty soon, I began to witness the fruits of my labor. I was given more power, and, more importantly, New Epinadia was attracting new nations. And even though Malathen unfortunately CTEd, the reegion was still growing.

Then Unrealistia established a discord server which attracted a few more members (e.g. Porotsia, Impandrea, etc.)

But even if they were from discord, it still meant that we had more nations, which causes the population effect: “The more members a region has, the faster it grows

In this time period, a very important nation came: Drentor. Remember him/her.

IV: Inactivity
Soon enough, I was starting to tire of the game. And so, I took a two-week break to refresh and regain motivation to play NS again. During that time, Drentor took over as third-in-command and did a fantastic job in continuing my work in expanding the regional influence.

But things didn’t go quite as planned. On the week I was supposed to return, I went to Universal Studios. Then I got a sore throat, and then the flu, and then a sinus infection which made me forget about the game.

V: The Return
Recently, I returned.
Malathen has also returned. Siamese provinces CTEd.
Currently, I’m less active (obviously) but I try to be around as often as possible (I’m updating this at a restaurant rn.)
Trading cards have been introduced and Cresium CTEd.

VI: Drentorian-Honsikian Scandal
Drentor, the talented New Epinadian leader, was trusted with a worrying amount of power due to my dwindling activity and interest in NS along with an exponentially increasing amount of responsibilities. Then [nation]Honsiki came. Honsiki is a dictatorship with severely abused civil rights and constant rebellions because of their terrible government.

Drentor, who made themself seem more successful by taking control of a ton of alts, set out to put down the rebellions. What started as a humanitarian mission became something totally different.

Honsiki had several puppet states that rebelled against the main government. Honsiki brutally put down the rebellions and killed children >:(. Drentor intervened and although it seemed that they were assisting the rebels it turns out that they were building a de facto empire.

Though I didn’t support any side, I believed the rebels didn’t have a legitimate reason to rebel because of a lack of a constitution. Then I remembered that Honsiki is basically a Nazi camp and that the population had a totally legitimate reason to rebel and escape just by living there.

And so, for the first time, I declared war. On Honsiki. But Drentor implied for me to stay out of it. And I regret doing that.

Drentor continued to violently seize land and people from Honsiki and assist the rebels, which was totally wrong since at that point they were just accumulating power, not saving the people of Honsiki. A more effective solution would have been to help the rebels escape or something.

Drentor also proposed the use of orbital weapons, which is unreasonable considering the fact that they were winning and that they had no reason to deploy orbital weapons in the first place (and if they did I would’ve intervened).

At this point, Drentor had founded the Drentorian League, a peaceful facade of a mutual defense pact. I say facade because it was actually an empire, which is ironic considering that Drentor claimed pro-peace.

Oh yeah then to make things worse Drentor booked it and left. With Honsiki. Because Drentor switched sides and turned on the rebels.

VII: The Collapse
After the scandal, New Epinadia was past is glory days.

Firstly, I ended up inheriting the position of regional commander, which is good for me but not necessarily for the region because I’m not exactly the most active player.

Second, our diplomatic relations crumbled. Like the World Trade Centers in 9/11. This was probably because Unrealistia wanted to reisolate New Epinadia.

Third, Nort Prestinia, the founder, has essentially disappeared.

Drentor might’ve left because they predicted this might happen soon, but that’s just a guess.
