JESIA

The Rising Sun Empire of Greater Jes New Islands commonly called Jesia, is a GOVERNMENT TYPE in LOCATION. It an island nation with no borders. NATION covers LAND AREA square kilometers and has has an estimated population of POPULATION. NATION comprises of NUMBER SUBDIVISIONS and NUMBER TERRITORIES.

Jesia is often seen as the world's 'badguy' or as the world's dumpster. With little care for the world, only seeking it's own ambitions, Jesia will do whatever it takes to become more powerful

Etymology

The first inhabitants of Jesia called the land in which they walked 'Jes' in ancient Jesenese. Jes simply meant land. Jes later became synonymous with Jesia. It wasn't until when foreign powers came into contact with Jesia that 'Jesia' became more common than 'Jes'

The standard way to refer to a citizen of Jesia is as a "Jesian."

History

Long ago, in another world, there was a beautiful world, full of life and wonder. Upon the world, came peoples of all types. Soon, all around the world, different types of civilizations rose. In the west, you had the Chiza peoples. In the south, you had the Indis and the Nams peoples. In the north, the peoples of Cola, and the peoples of the steppes, known as the Tengris. In the massive ocean to the east, you had many different islands full of diverse peoples. However, in the middle of the world, lied a certain type of land. A mountainous island chain. This land had no people, and was left alone. Many ancient explorers and philosophers traveled through the land, known for its beauty like no other. It was until, the islands were discovered to be inhabited. The natives called the land 'Jes', meaning 'land' in the language. They were a simple tribal people, who all worshiped the sun. They were still relatively behind in the technological scale, as the rest of the world started building libraries and great palaces, the Jes peoples were still trying to build small villages. It all changed however, when a mysterious figure rose up and declared himself leader of all of the Jes lands. His name was Sanhisai, the first Emperor of Jesia. Historians still debate whether he was a mythological figure or an actual person. The 1st Emperor united the lands of Jesia, and declared himself to be descended from the sun god Akira. According to ancient writings, he could defeat entire armies with a single blow due to his mystical powers. He was described with many mythological and supernatural powers. It is unknown why it was so, but the peoples of Jes worshiped the Emperor. The second Emperor, did not hold the same mystical powers as his father, but was still adorned and worshiped.
The 2nd Emperor eventually united all the lands. The Emperor then imported knowledge and science from the world, building cities and a army. All was peaceful, as Jes stood in isolation for thousands of years. However, there came a random sudden spark, a hunger for conquest. It was eventually written down in the prophesies of Akira (A Jesian holy book describing and predicting many events, and the eventual conquest of the world by Jesia). Jesia had to conquer the world, so that they can become gods themselves, under Lord Akira. They first conquered the small kingdom of Choson, barely. The Jes peoples were yet not adapted to foreign war, as their way of war was different to the rest of the world. Still, they conquered the kingdom of Choson, and subjugated their peoples. They looked to the many islands in the ocean, and conquered them all. This did not go unnoticed however, as the Grand Western Kingdom of Chiza was concerned about Jesian expansion. Motivated by supposed evil acts upon the island peoples and Choson, Chiza formed a coalition to fight Jesia. Jesia was eventually pushed back into the Jes homelands.
So, peace returned. However, the Tengris peoples in the north took the opportunity of a distracted Chiza and set forth to conquer Chiza. They were lead by a figure only known as Khanis, a great warlord who was very skilled in the art of war, eventually able to conquer most of the massive continent that all of the kingdoms and empires stood. He was even described with mythological powers, but historians also say this was just ancient fiction. However, Khanis was not able to invade Jesia, as the Jes people fiercely fought off the invaders, three times. Never has Khanis failed a invasion. After the failed invasions of Jes, Khanis mysteriously disappeared out of history books. It is unknown what has happened to him, but his empire eventually fell.
There again stood a era of peace. Technology soon improved, leading to the discovery of gunpowder by the Chiza peoples. The Chiza people however used it for only mining and fireworks, as they sought no war. Jesia however, discovered that gunpowder can be used to fire projectiles and explosions. Soon after, the Gunpowder Wars begun. A massive unexpected Jesian invasion of Chiza, as Jesia sought more of this gunpowder. Jesia was successful, and occupied areas of Chiza rich in resources and gunpowder production. Jesia sought after the rest of the world, but was then eventually defeated again by a fierce push-back by the Chiza. Then so began a era of what seemed like never ending war. Months, years, decades passed. As technology around the world advanced, so did the body-count. Jesia also expanded to several fronts, attacking and conquering most of the world. Jesia had the world in its grasp. What happened next, it a mystery. However, legend goes that the great leaders of the world, traded their own lives to Himokami and Aku, Lord of the Moon and Lord of Evil. There, the land of Jes was exiled to the underworld. Forever gone from the face of the planet, the many nations of the world lived forever in peace. But what happened to Jesia?
A new massive landmass appeared in the world. A mysterious one. The people of Jes were unable to remember anything. They have forgotten everything. The wars, the many empires. All they remembered was that they were Jesian. In a strange new world, with no land in sight, the Jes people rebuilt what they have lost in war. They lived in isolation, hidden away in a obscure part of the world. It was until, viking explorers discovered the islands. The Jesians never saw peoples like the vikings, nor did they. A almost alien race was introduced to a brand new world. They cut themselves off from the rest of the world, seeing them as worthless pig dogs. They still traded with the new foreigners though, discovering the new technologies of this world. They slowly advanced, never making an appearance on the world stage. It was until, the age of industrialization. Jesia was introduced to industrialization by Likari traders. Jesia did not adapt industrialization instantly though, as they saw it as another foreign invention, that destroyed the beauty of Jesia and corrupted all that worked for it. They still stood behind the rest of the world, until the first war using new technology happened. Massive destruction was reported, and total annihilation of enemies. Jesia saw opportunity like no other. They quickly adopted free trade policies, started building factories, and modernizing their military. They abandoned one of the main Jesian beliefs...

As the world progressed, so did Jesia. Jesia became a manufacturing powerhouse. With its abundant resources, and its massive dedicated populace, its ambition was once again ignited. To conquer all of the world, to unite the eight corners of the world, to bring honor to the Emperor and Lord Akira, and to become forever powerful, for Jesia!

With a population of around 2.8 billion, the demographics of Jesia is actually quite simple. There are only two races in Jesia, Jesian and foreigner. The population is usually homogeneous, with around 99.4 percent of the population being Jesian. The rest is various foreigners from around the world. Due to the wastelands most people are usually isolated in cities, only taking boats or trains to travel to different cities.
