RMB Code of Conduct

Ministry of Communications

Violation of any of the following rules in the Civilization RMB will result in the suppression of the violating post.

  • Do not violate NationStates rules: This rule is pretty obvious. Just don't do anything that would require moderator intervention. Some of these rules include no flaming, no baiting, and many more. If you aren’t familiar with NationStates rules, you can find them here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=260044

  • Do not spam: Spamming is perhaps the most notorious violation of basic internet decency. Just don’t do it. If you want to use the RMB, post something meaningful.

  • Do not maliciously edit quotes: Editing a quote in a way that changes the original meaning of the post, is not permitted. If someone posts “Good morning, I hope every has a nice day.” Do not edit the quote to say “Good morning, I hate the gays.” Editing quotes to shorten them is fine.

  • Do not post anything offensive: If something you post would be considered homophobic, racist, generally insensitive, or is likely to offend anyone specific, it will not be tolerated. If you are unsure if your post would violate this rule, it is safest to just not post it.

  • Do not recruit for other regions or outside groups: Our RMB is not the place for you to advertise. There are plenty of ways to recruit, posting here is not one of them. Violation of this rule may result in your ejection and banishment from the region as well as being reported to the Moderators.

  • Do not quote a suppressed message: If you quote a message that has been suppressed, your message will also be suppressed. If you suspect a post contains something worthy of suppression, its safest to just not quote it. If you absolutely must quote the offending post, remove the text which caused the suppression.

  • Respect others: Whether you call it the golden rule, the categorical imperative, or the more general “don't be a dick”, be sure to respect the opinions and feelings of others. Debate is fine. Just keep it at that and don't escalate it into a flame war.
