Overview of the Election
The election saw the Liberal Party and its coalition retain its government. There was a notable decline of support for the major parties, with the smaller parties gaining more support, especially in the urban areas. As such the major parties lost some control of their coalitions, and their support base declining.
Change of Seats
Many seats flipped from the major parties, the Liberal National Party lost 10 seats and the Liberal Democrat party lost 3. Seats were gained by the National Democratic Party and Family Party on the Government side. On the opposition, the Labour Party lost 15 seats, many in strong labour areas. The Xagillian Republic Party and Liberty Alliance gained 7 and 4 seats respectively. The Greens gained amny seats in the urban areas.
