OEU News Today Person of the Year for 2018

The OEU News Today person of the year for 2018 is Milan Jelencic, General of the SMPA and Chairman of the Provisional Revolutionary Council for Milosevicism in Serbia and Montenegro.

General Jelencic was selected as the OEU person of the year because of the impact he had on a world scale. His aggressive military actions in Greece, Covvia, Fordana, Macedonia and the Greater Nordics pitted new alliances against each other as democratic western aligned countries who were tired of Jelencic's aggression came together against the authoritarian eastern aligned countries who supported Jelencic's regime.

Jelencic came to power after the ousting of Vladimir Lazarovic by the Socialist Party. From the 21st of September to the 7th of October Jelencic was in charge of a provisional council that was supposed to transition Serbia to a democratic country and hold elections. Jelencic however was a hardened military man who was a committed Socialist and did not want to see the country of Milosevic turn into a democracy.

In all Jelencic's regime killed 8 million people, 3 million who were Danish. The brutality of the Serbian occupation in Denmark led to a long time Serbian ally Chricoma turning against S&M. Nearing the end of his rule his acts of outright aggression such as launching artillery and airstrikes against Covvia from Chricomian territory, made his authoritarian allies (WunderWaffle, Chricoma, Carpatho Kemmerer, Hondura and Bavaria) turn against his government and they kicked out SMPA troops.

Long time Serbian allies realised that Jelencic was using them in his war plans. Jelencic was arrested on the 7th of October by Fordan authorities after his removal from the position as Chairman of the PRC. Serbia descended into a civil war after that. The DBSCG (serbian secret service) released classified files which revealed that Jelencic had plans to assassinate Fuhrer Mertaug of Chricoma, Yukanovik of CK and Clark of Fordana.

This evil man created an era of political instability in the entire world and deserves to be the person of the year for 2018.

Honourable Mentions

President Taylor of TROTNAC

It is a well known fact that of all the western democracies TROTNAC is the strongest. TROTNAC is number one in military and economic strength and with President Taylor at the top of the North American government it makes him one of the most influential and powerful politicians in the entire world. President Taylor has long been the scorn of many tyrants for his opposition to them which prevents them from doing many evil things, however when he fails to respond to them that is when dictatorships can do what they want with the most recent example being Macedonia where President Taylor made a huge blunder and did not respond at all in time to Serbian aggression which led to Macedonia's democracy collapsing.

Fuhrer Armin Stenger

Armin Stenger was the predecessor of the current Fuhrer, Fuhrer Fromm. When Stenger became Fuhrer, Chricoma and Covvia were united under a duel monarchy under the Chricomian King Leopold II and Covviad Queen Zwaagman. Stenger pursued policies to make Chricoma a more relaxed society but still under the control of Chricoma's form of fascism. The Chricomian Covviad commonwealth was invaded from all sides by its former allies Joshuastania,Serbia,CK,Hondura, the Reich and Bavaria. After a ceasefire was agreed with all but one of those countries the southern half of Chricoma was occupied by the SMPA and became the DRSC( Democratic Republic of Southern Chricoma). All of this put huge amounts of stress and pressure on Fuhrer Stenger and he could never see the reunification of Chricoma.

President Howard of Fordana

Howard of Fordana will always have a special place in the memories of Fordan and Serbian citizens for how he managed to make these two rivals be on good terms. Howard came to power with the promise of making Fordana a peaceful, neutral and stable country. After the civil war which destroyed Fordana and crippled its economy massively, Howard rebuilt it and also rebuilt relations with Eastern nations mainly S&M and CK.
