After the intro to shattered, the protagonist wakes up to find that he isn't at home. Instead, he finds himself in a dark room with wires and tubes attached to him. This is who was controlling him. Neither Cora nor the other girl ever existed and the real Cora is actually with Gavin, who he later finds in another testing room. He searches the facility, finding only test subjects, nobody who is running the tests. Then, as the chapter comes to a close, they find a character whose eyes have been modified to send video surveillance to an unknown source. The player now has the option to either kill Jay or risk the kidnappers finding out that he's awake and woke everyone else up as well.
