Party Charter
Office of President
Section 1
Hereby establishes the Office of President of the Democratic-Republican Party. The President shall serve as the Chief Executive Official, regarded as the most important and prominent role within the Democratic-Republican Party.
Section 2
The President is in charge of overseeing affairs with other parties and oversees the recruitment process. The President also works to promote growth and progress in the party and works with the Board of Trustees to get policies passed both within and outside of the DR party.
Section 3
The President may veto any policy change or party legislation that passes the Board of Trustees.
Section 4
Elections for the Presidency shall take place when the Board of Trustees passes a motion to elect by a majority vote. After the motion to elect has passed the Board, there shall be a Presidential election five days later, with a Presidential debate taking place prior. In a Presidential election, the Board of Trustees shall vote and the candidate that received the majority vote of the Board shall be elected President.
Board of Trustees
Section 1
The Board of Trustees shall hereby be established, which shall have the legislative power within the party. The Board of Trustees shall deal with Party policy and administrative agenda. All party members with exception to the President shall be members of the Board of Trustees.
Section 2
The Board of Trustees may pass a resolution to modify the Democratic-Republican party policies or other legislative initiatives of the party with a majority vote. The Board of Trustees may amend this Democratic-Republican Charter with a supermajority vote of 70% or more. To override a Presidential veto, the Board of Trustees will need a supermajority vote.
Section 4
The Board of Trustees shall be presided over by a General Manager who shall serve as a Speaker and a presiding officer. The General Manager of the Democratic-Republican Party will work closely with the President on behalf of the Board. The General Manager shall serve at the pleasure of a majority of the Board of Trustees.
Convention
Section 1
For Consul elections, the Board of Trustees shall hold a party convention to determine who the party nominee will be. The candidate that received a majority vote of the Board shall officially be declared and announced as the official Democratic-Republican nominee for Consul.
Section 2
There shall be a Party Senatorial list created by the President. The Senatorial list will include all party members that wish to run.
Membership
Section 1
For a nation to become an official member of the Party, they must submit an application to the President and/or General Manager. Either of those offices must accept the application for that nation to become a member.
Section 2
A member of the Party may lose membership if the Board of Trustees passes a resolution retracting their membership with a majority vote. They will automatically lose membership statues if that they left the region or left for a different party.
