Storytime: Princess Auphelia and the Frog

Once upon a time, in a land far far away lived a princess, called Auphelia.

One evening, Princess Aupehlia went for a walk by herself in a wood where she came across a small pool.

She rested by the pool and sang to herself. Whilst she was singing, a frog put its head out of the water, and said, 'Princess, please will you help me?'

Aupehlia was initially taken aback, at the sight of a speaking frog.

The frog continued, 'I am a handsome prince who has been enchanted by an evil, spiteful faerie.'

'What nonsense,' thought the princess, 'faeries, talking frogs, I'm clearly having a vivid dream of some kind.'

The frog continued, 'In order to break the curse, I must be kissed by a princess. Only a kiss will break this curse. Please, beautiful princess, end this spell!'

Kiss me!', the frog said 'Kiss me and we can live together in my castle and I can rule with you by my side'.

The frog hopped towards princess Aupehlia and pursed its lips in anticipation.

Princess Auphelia leaned in close to the frog and slapped the frog back into the pool.

For Princess Auphelia was a strong, intelligent and independent woman who was confident in the knowledge she was more than this frog-prince ever could be.
