Alurain is first and foremost a socialist nation. Its distribution of wealth is made to be as equal as possible through state-owned business and high taxation. Throughout Alurain's relatively short history it has always maintained socialism as its economic system and only a few small resistance groups have attempted to push for more capitalistic reforms but have failed due to the strong support of socialist ideology, especially in Maxyne and other mountain towns where the Alurinian resistance in the Civil War is strongly glorified and "Socialism or barbarism" is believed wholeheartedly.
