Within Alurain there's an unusually high population in the mountainous regions of the nation, despite this area seeming to be less "livable" than other regions due to there being more farmland and less extreme weather. This is due to the nation having made its "start" along the Western edge of the mountains. During the Civil War the Alurian forces fled to Mount Alura and created a settlement as they prepared to defend themselves, and after the war ended many Alurinians decided to make their homes in or around this region. Many of the towns elsewhere in the country existed before the Civil War and became part of Alurain largely due to being behind the front where the Alurians resisted and not due to being ideologically connected to Alurain. This did lead to some conflict initially, but Alurain gave ultimatums to these people that they could live in Alurain peacefully or return (WIP)
