The Murphtannia military

Throughout it's history Murphtannia has been very militaristic. They have secured many grand victories such as the battle of Haifa and the battle of Brest.

In modern times Murphtannia is yet to engage in a large scale war however they are always prepared.

The army

Murphtannia has always valued an elite and organised army. Generals are required to attend an officer's school which maybe be entered once a man or woman reaches 16 and leaves high school. In Officer's school they will spend 5 years learning the military history of Murphtannia, tactics employed in great battles by Murphtannian generals or indeed other great generals such as Julius Caesar, Montgomery or Saladin. They then partake in war games that simulate past scenarios or possible future scenarios which allow the generals to create their own tactics and think on the possible future of the nation in wars. After this students will spend time familiarising themselves with the army, it's strengths and weaknesses and diplomacy so that the army may make allegiances , trade or other such things when needed. Finally they will learn as many different languages as possible so that they can understand what an enemy is saying or planning. They will also learn military logistics and all aspects of running a military campaign. After 5 years in the school our generals and officers etc are highly elite and v capable at their jobs.

Murphtannia dedicates a lot of funding to the defence budget which allows it to buy a large portion of tanks. The most common model within the Murphtannian army is the M1 Abraham's tank. Recently conscription was brought back for the first time since WW2, each citizen of Murphtannia must serve a mandatory 1 year in the armed forces. This is too allow for the defence of the nation against any foreign aggressors who see Murphtannia as a small nation unable to defend it self. Military training is quite long as too make every soldier as elite as they can be. M 16's and AK 47's and AR 15's are the weapons of choice for the Murphtannian army that numbers around 300,000 strong.

As technology advances so does the Murphtannian army, new plasma rifles have replaced older bullet based weaponry, while the new Challenger 3 Plasma tank, and Arc 5 Plasma Artillery have entered mass production to replace the older M1 Abrahams and Challenger 2's.

the Murphtannian Navy

Possibly the pride of Murphtannia is it's Navy. The Murphtannian navy was founded in 1756 to support the RN. It has only continued to grow since. Murphtannia had a naval academy largely the same as the Officer school and the Air force academy. Throughout history is has fought in many conflicts world wide helping to enforce and protect Murphtannian interest across the world. The navy helped Protect Britain during the World Wars and helped the US fleet during the Pacific war and Korean war.

The Navy prides itself on it's elite crew and admirals. It also boasts 50 battleships, 5 aircraft carriers, 100 subs, 100 destroyers and 60 cruisers.

The Murphtannian air force

The air force is the newest Branch of the Murphtannian army. It was created in 1920 and was quite small until 1935 where the British government helped fund it. Now the air force is quite large with an academy the same as all branches. The air force also is quite elite however not to the level of the army or Navy.

The Royal Space Corps

This is the Space Branch of the Murphtannian Military, using spaceships to exert Murphtannian interests across the galaxy. While still new, it relies on Murphtannia's allies to help fund fleets, however the first spaceship designs have been approved and production has begun.

TX-100 - Agile, Shielded and flexible star fighter, it is most adept in dog fights, however it has torpedoes that allow it to deal damage to capital ships. It's shields can take damage, however not a direct hit from a capital ship, and they cannot last forever. It has 4 laser cannons at the back of the ship and a droid to help with repairs. It also has 4 small engines. Currently it cannot use faster than light travel. Cheap to make they make an effective core to a fleet.

TX-50 - The Bomber craft of the fleet, it has powerful bombs and torpedoes that allow it to ravage enemy capital ships, however it is slow and not very good in a dog fight. It also has 2 small laser cannons on the front of the ship and a back gunner, along with heavy armour and shields and a droid, which can repair and protect the ship for a small time. Cgeap to make but hard to repair, they are a good bombing solution.

TX - 70 - Small and Agile, this star fighter is designed purely for dog fighting and is largely useless against capital ships. It has tracking missiles and 2 laser cannons on the front which can destroy enemy star fighters, and while shielded it has less shields than the TX-100 to allow for more agility, which is supported by 2 powerful engines at the back of the craft. While not cheap to make they are very effective at destroying enemy craft, and their missiles can do minor damage to Capital ships if absolutely necessary.

TC - 20 - The Smallest Murphtannian capital ship, this is a small cruiser that is designed to move quickly and to perform an anti-fighter/bomber role. While they won't hold up long against bigger capital ships they can prove to be effective in protecting ships from enemy fighters and is relatively cheap to make.

TC- 100 - The backbone of the Murphtannian capital ship fleet, it can go toe to toe with other capital ships, armed with rail guns, missiles, torpedoes and laser cannons across the ship, as well as smaller cannons for point defense, it is well shielded and armoured, however it is slow and not very agile. It also comes with 2 hangars that can carry 200 star fighters each. These ships are expensive and require quite a large crew to maintain.

TC - 150 - A massive capital ship designed to carry fighters, it has 5 hangars that can each hold 100 ships, it also has some missile batteries, a few laser guns and a lot of point defense, it can defend against fighters well however it will be destroyed in a 1v1 with another capital ship.

TCX - This is a smaller capital ship, covered in missile batteries, it can ravage a ship easily however poor shielding make it a glass cannon.
