Structure of the Government of Keswickholt

Federal Government
  1. The Federal Government is made up of the President and Secretaries of State for the various government departments.

  2. The Vice-President is the Secretary of State for Internal Affairs and as such this position is considered the senior position in government under the President

  3. Each Secretary of State has to keep their seat in any election to keep hold of the office they are entrusted with, this is not the case for the Chief of Defence Staff who is the Secretary of State for Defence, the DoD assign a new Military Leader when the previous retires, this is the only position that the public cannot vote out of office.

  4. During times of war when the Federal Parliament is disbanded the Federal Government take on all responsibilities of politicians and as such they obtain Executive Power to create emergency laws and pass legislation without putting it to the vote in Parliament.

Federal Parliament

  1. Made up of 350 members from the Federal Republic and 40 members from the colonies, the Federal Parliament gather to vote on proposed legislation and matters that affect the nation.

  2. Before any emergency enactments can be put in place the Parliament must vote on the proposal and must have a clear majority to enact it.

  3. The Federal Parliament cannot create laws but can vote for or against proposals made by the Federal Government.

  4. Members of the Federal Parliament are known as FMPs whilst the Colonial members are known as CMPs.

  5. CMPs by Federal Law are allowed to have two votes for their one as such it equates to 80 FMPs voting, this was introduced by the Federal President who wanted the Colonies to have better representation in the Federal Republic

Governors Council

  1. This Council is made up of the 6 State Governors

  2. The Council does not have the Executive powers of that of the Federal Parliament and Government but has the devolved powers to act in their states best interest.

  3. The Council has the power to enact policies that affect the individual states, this can only affect the states where the Governor is in favour of the policy. As such sometimes only one state may or may not accept the policy.

  4. The Council cannot create any policy that alters Criminal Law.

Colonial Council

  1. The Colonial Council is the Executive body for the ruling of the Colonies, it is made up of the Colonial Governor and 10 representatives of each colony.

  2. The Council is in charge of the laws of the Colonies and implementing Federal Laws that include the Colonies in.

  3. Whilst they are Colonies of the Federal Republic, the Council allows them independence to rule as they see fit, provided that they do not prevent Federal Law.

  4. Whilst the Colonies are individually operated by the Federal Army, the Governors and Representatives are independent from the Military and are made up of nationals to that colony.

State Councils

  1. State Councils are elected officials of the towns and cities within that State

  2. The Councils operate the daily running of the state and local authority services.

  3. The Councils do not have Executive Authority and can only create bylaws that affect that state only.
