Fort Anfree 2020 - Terraconserva Olympic Bid

Fort Anfree

Located in the heart of the nation, Fort Anfree embodies the spirit of the United Commonwealths of Gagium. Founded in 1633 by brave Quebecshirite explorers, Fort Anfree grew into a beacon of hope and liberty by Gagium’s independence in 1822. Since then, the people of Fort Anfree have strived to make the city a globally renowned bastion of democracy and freedom.

Today, Fort Anfree is Gagium’s economic and cultural capital, as well as a globally connected city built on human rights and individual liberties. Downtown Fort Anfree offers both city natives and visitors world class amenities, including the nation’s best restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, night clubs, theatres, museums, free internet, and more. The city’s people will help make any and all visitors welcome, whether they are from Greater Sacramento, Reia, or Xusma.

Fort Anfree is also home to numerous state-of-the-art sporting facilities that are easily accessible and connected by public transportation. This has earned the city the informal title of Gagium’s Sporting Capital, and any Olympians visiting the city will see why.

Overview

The Fort Anfree 2020 Olympics will occur between (idk whenever enough people apply and whenever Furby wants to start?) to (whenever all events are scorinated? This will be up to Furby), while schools are closed nationwide and many families will be looking forward to vacationing. The vast majority of venues will be located in or around Fort Anfree, and all of these venues will be connected by road or by bus. The majority of these venues will be accessible by light rail or by subway.

Additionally, several new venues will be constructed at the Fort Anfree Olympic Park, which will be specially built for the games. The Olympic Park will include housing for the vast majority of athletes, which may be reused as affordable housing for the city’s impoverished ones the games conclude. The Olympic Park will be connected by car, bus, subway, and light rail.

Once the games conclude, some of the newly-constructed venues will be relocated or torn down while others will be given to local sporting clubs.

Visitors and spectators of the games will enjoy high-speed internet and all the amenities Fort Anfree has to offer. The city’s government and the Commonwealth of Rachelia will help ensure that businesses are welcoming towards tourists and make the appropriate accommodations for the influx of visitors who may be unfamiliar with the Quebecshirite language.

Venues
The Fort Anfree Olympic Park will hold the following venues:

• Fort Anfree Aquatics Center - This permanent facility will be used for diving, swimming, water polo, and underwater hockey events, and will have a capacity of 16,000 people. Additionally, the Aquatics Center will be accessible by bus and will located within walking distance of an already constructed subway stop, and will also be located near a parking garage that will be built for the Olympic Park.

• Olympics Baseball Park - This facility, intended to eventually replace an aging baseball stadium located in downtown Fort Anfree, will be used for Olympics baseball. The following facilities will be located outside of the Olympic Park, in or near Fort Anfree:

• Lescure Arena - Located near downtown Fort Anfree, Lescure Arena was built in 1989 for the city’s basketball team. It will host the basketball events of the Games, and is located near several hotels that would ideally be serving visitors and tourists. Lescure Arena will be connected by bus for both athletes and spectators, as well as by subway. Additionally, Lescure Arena is located close to a high-capacity parking garage. Lescure Arena has a capacity of 28,000 people.

The Stadium will be reimagined to host the association football event, and will have a capacity of roughly 72,000 people for the Olympics.

• Gagium National Rowing Academy - Located nearly 28 miles from the heart of Fort Anfree, this facility was built for a previous global sporting tournament. The National Rowing Acadmy will host the rowing events and will undergo extensive renovation for the 2020 games. It will be connected by bus and road, as well as by commuter rail.

• Lake Bacque - Located right by the Gagium National Rowing Academy, Lake Bacque will be used for canoeing events.

• Other venues: More information will be published on other venues, including other stadiums that will host earlier football matches, in the near future. Additionally, both chess and esports events will be held at the Fort Anfree Convention Center, which is accessible by bus, light rail, subway, and car.

The vast majority of venues are within 15 minutes of the Olympic Village and are accessible by most means of transportation. Practically all venues are connected by bus and road, while a majority of venues are located close to light rail, commuter rail, or subway stations.

Olympic Park
The Olympic Park, while housing multiple venues that will be used for the Olympics, will also house the Olympic Village, which will be capable of housing several thousand athletes from all countries participating in the Olympics. The Olympic Village will consist of eight housing developments that will be built by several companies who have been awarded contracts for this purpose. The housing developments will each have the capacity for hundreds of athletes, and will include basic amenities like bathrooms, restaurants, swimming pools, and eating halls. All housing developments will meet both local and national standards, and will be built for long-term sustenance. Athletes will be housed with other athletes from their country. Outside of the housing developments, several restaurants and clubs will be located in the Olympic Village for recreational purposes.

These restaurants and clubs will be built in regards to the participating countries. Some restaurants or clubs may be themed around specific countries and may be entirely staffed by people who speak a certain language. Other restaurants and facilities will be open to athletes of all countries, and will be staffed by a diverse group of people who will strive to make all athletes feel welcome.

Stores operated by prominent Gagian retailers selling basic products needed by the athletes during their stay in Fort Anfree will also be built near the Olympic Park, along with a pharmacy.

Visitor Accommodations

There are approximately 215 hotels with 49,000 rooms located in Fort Anfree. A new series of hotels will be constructed and managed by a private company for the Olympics, which will add an additional 4,000 rooms available for use. These hotels, which will be located in downtown Fort Anfree, will be converted into highrise housing developments once the Olympics are over. Single and double bed hotel rooms will be available at differing rates, though the quality of these rooms depends on the hotel. Some of these hotels are located in Downtown Fort Anfree’s free high speed internet area, but many are not. Virtually all hotels that will be hosting visitors offer internet services, either free or paid.

Additionally, nearly 16,000 hotel rooms are located in suburbs and towns outside of Fort Anfree city limits but still within the metropolitan area.

Shuttle bus services will be offered from most hotels to sporting venues and subway/light rail stations.

Transportation

Fort Anfree is home to an extremely reliable and trusted subway network that has operated in the city for decades. The Fort Anfree Metro will connect several venues with the Olympic Park, hotels, and Downtown Fort Anfree. The East Coast Rail Initiative passed by the Gagian National Assembly in 2013 included provisions for boosting Fort Anfree’s subway budget as well as improving its light rail network.

High speed rail will connect Fort Anfree with other cities that will be hosting Olympic football games.

The city is serviced by Autoroutes 1 and 12, as well as Rachelia State Highway 450, 37, 90, and 290. These high-capacity freeways were built to improve the city’s transportation and to lift the burden off of public transportation networks. Many of these freeways run close to athletic venues that will be used for the Olympics.

Georges Deloffre International Airport, managed by the Fort Anfree Aviation Authority, serves the Fort Anfree Metropolitan Area as well as about 45 and a half million passengers annually. The airport offers exclusive amenities to passengers, including restaurants and shops. Maps of the airport in several different languages will be available to visitors.

The city offers scheduled bus services that will be available to both athletes and spectators. A fleet of buses and vans will be borrowed or purchased from other cities specifically to transport athletes and domestic/foreign media to venues and hotels.

Safety

During the duration of the Olympics, the Rachelia Department of Transportation and the Fort Anfree Department of Transportation and Department of Public Safety will ensure that all transportation options are well-maintained and safe for travelers both familiar and unfamiliar with the Quebecshirite language. Translated public transport network maps in several languages will be provided to hotels for distribution. It is important to note that Gagians drive on the right.

The renowned Fort Anfree Police Department will be working with the Rachelia Commonwealth Police, Fort Anfree Parish Sheriff’s Office, and neighboring police departments to ensure that the Olympics are safe. An increased number of patrols will be conducted by police agencies to ensure that the city is safe during the Olympics. The Royal Investigative Service will help Georges Deloffre International Airport staff screen passengers and identify potential threats to the Olympics.

Police Officers will help respond to emergencies at Olympic venues and will also provide security at the locations of these venues and the Olympic Park. All spectators will be screened for weapons upon entering a venue. Should an emergency arrive involving a possible armed gunman or terrorism, the FAPD Special Crisis Unit will be on standby, along with the Gagium Army Police Corps. The Gagium Coast Patrol will help with operations wherever needed and will also be on standby.

Local EMTs and fire department staff will be working overtime to accommodate the Olympics, and services will be offered 24/7. Local hospitals will also be put on alert and will make appropriate accommodations for the games. In addition to this, paramedics may perform patrols at venues in accordance with Fort Anfree 2020’s plans to ensure that the games are as safe as possible. Volunteer medics will be recruited to help keep the games safe and ensure that response times are low.

Team doctors and medics will be welcome and will be allowed to bring any needed equipment. They will also be allowed and encouraged to provide medical services for their teams along with Gagian doctors. However, valid proof of medical training will need to be provided to Gagium.
