Feuraxia is a large country occupying the vast majority of the central Usean region on the Usean continent. It shares a river border with Tertania, and a land border with Usman, Salazeel and Moira. Feuraxia is a Unitary One Party Dictatorship that consists of 5 core states and a multitude of disputed vassals in South Usea. The most populous city is Port Patterson (8 million), and its national capital is Castillia.

The central Usean region was a key trading route between the North Pike Ocean and Eastern Kingdoms during the late iron age and early middle ages. Many trading settlements were built along the Northern River to facilitate the travel of goods, and several minor Kingdoms as far as Apak and Tarford were thought to have existed at this time. In the 1500s, the native Salistrox were conquered by Baalists from Tiberia, however they were liberated by the Boerealian Empire some 300 years later. Feuraxia was a colonial protectorate of the Boerealian crown until 1914. After this point Feuraxia held territorial possessions in South Usea and Noskyavia for a time. Head of state Marshal Sydney died in 1973, with which came the implosion of the Junta. Casiro Pershing, CEO of the Bank of Feuraxia succeeded him and consolidated his company as the ruling government. They fought Daulmark in the Orphan war, until peace was signed in 2022. Mahdi Oofler launched a revolution the same year which toppled the government and established himself as leader. He died a year later of natural causes. The current Mahdi of Feuraxia is Gulf Rudholm. His main agenda is to establish the 999 faction as the dominant power in South Usea.

Feuraxia is a highly developed country by international standards and scores the 4th most efficient economy in the Confederation. Citizens enjoy very high disposable incomes and a swathe of luxury consumer goods in a competitive market. Feuraxia is an industrial and retail powerhouse that specialises in automobile production. However Feuraxia been afflicted with a violent crackdown on civil rights and political freedoms, alongside suffering the consquences of a serious obesity epidemic and lack of environmental responsibility.

Etymology

The name Feuraxia is a Boerealean translation of the native Usean word Salistrox. The word Salis according to old texts from the middle ages was the name for the Northern river of which the first settlements in Central Usea originated. The word 'trox' meant people, so together they created the word Salis-trox, or Northern river people. The various settlements of Central Usea were comprised of several disjointed duchies and fiefdoms for much of the region's early history. But eventually these settlements unified in the 15th century to form the Kingdom of Salistrox, which was conquered by the Beran Empire. They lost much of their cultural identity during the 300 year Beran occupation, and became 'Boerealeanised' following the liberation of the region by the Boerealean Empire. Hence why the original native name was translated to become 'Feuraxia'.

History

Medieval Period
From as early as the 5th century, the Northern river was a key trading route between the North Pike Ocean and Eastern Kingdoms on the coast of the Beran Sea. The earliest settlements built in this region were built along the river, some as far as Apak and Tarford on the Western seaboard. As these trading settlements grew wealthier from the popularity of the Northern river for travel and commerce, raids became increasingly common from pirates and later Baalist raiders from the Order of Baal in the North East. This lead to the construction of castles and walled cities along the larger towns and cities along the Northern river. Before the mid 14th century, the settlements along the river were fragmented duchies and fiefdoms that did little to cooperate with eachother, preferring to look out for the interests of the individual barons and nobility. However this changed following the 1359 burning of wealthy trading city Caustalia by Baalist King Japhet of Beran, after which they unified and pledged allegiance to the first King of Salistrox, Pike I of Ernest.

Baalist Occupation of Central Usea
In 1439, a war broke out between the Eastern Kingdoms over the legitimate heir to the throne of Lobna. The situation escalated to a point where the Kingdom of Budal and Salazeel took opposing sides in the conflict. The 15 year war that followed absolutely desolated the region and left the Eastern Kingdoms in a very weak position to fight external threats. They were ultimately conquered by the Beran Empire in 1454, and never rose to prominence again. After the defeat of the Kingdoms, Beran horsemen were sent to conquer Salistrox via the Northern strip, as it had roads and towns to supply a prolonged offensive. However their advance was bogged down by a heavily concentrated defensive army and fortified cities. The Berans decided to cross south through the Wawanakwa mountain range, which was completely undefended as it was deemed impassible. The Beran Horsemen rode unopposed into the Port City of Haldershine, and eventually south to seize the capital. King Harkess II and his followers fled south into Moria, where he lived in exile until his death in 1476. Without food from Haldershine and Tarford, morale was broken and the towns along the river were defeated after a year of futile resistance.

The 300 year occupation of Salistrox is documented as a time of prolonged indigenous cultural suppression and persecution of infidels. The Beran's extracted a heavy quota from the rural population to sustain their army for extended conquest around the continent.

Governate of Feuraxia
In 1709, Emperor Nepholi of the Beran Empire waged war against the Boerealian Empire over the territorial holdings in Haldershine. After a grueling campaign, the Beran Empire was pushed back to the Northern River. Nepholi capitulated to the Boerealeans and ceded all of Central Usea for Boerealea's new colony state; the Governate of Feuraxia.

Northern strip Gold rush
In 1723, the Bank of Boerealea put out a prize of $1000 for any citizen who discovered gold in the colonies. This prize was won by a shepherd in the Apak mountain range, which catalyzed a 50 year gold rush that significantly pushed Feuraxia's development, especially with the creation of regional railroads, massive population influx, and industrial buildup to facilitate the movement of gold from the Northern strip to Port Patterson.

18th-19th century
The discovery of gold on the Northern strip bought incredible population growth, wealth and regional development with it. The revenue generated from the mining industry was able to fund a massive railroad scheme that connected the East side of Central Usea with Port Patterson. These lines ran through the industrial powerhouse of Jaginlard to trading hub Castillia, and from there to Ernest and Port Patterson. In 1825, Port Patterson became the first Usean city to reach a population of 1,000,000, which was a milestone headline of the time.

20th Century
At the dawn of a new century, Feuraxia emerged as a rising power under the foot of an Empire losing relevance in the new world which awaited. Their rapid industrialization and increasingly prominent military prowess made them a regional stabiliser as a series of international crises broke the old system.

The Red January of 1914
In 1914, the Empire of Boerealea collapsed due to famine and political extremism. At the same time, armies of bandit horsemen in Tiberia and Salazeel ravaged the border regions. After neo-Boerealean Loyalists failed to restore order, a junta was forcibly established under Marshal Sydney. His legacy scourged Tiberian desert nomads from the face of Avaris, and introduced a calm tranquility upon South Usea for a period of 30 years.

Crushing the Marundian Opium Triad
The same year Sydney consolidated his junta, Feuraxian horsemen eliminated Tiberian bandit activities. Within a couple of months, the last Tiberian warlord was slaughtered in Boserilon city. About this time, Marundian King Jubari headed the South Usean Opium Triad, of which fueled crime and disorder in the region. To end this, Sydney sent his forces South to destroy the Salazeel and Moiran Triads. After which he blockaded Port Jaleera, and assassinated the King with Feuraxian Marines. Sydney's Empire occupied Marundia for 30 years after this until his death in 1973.

Confederated Bankers of Feuraxia
After the natural death of Marshal Sydney, chief executive of the Bank of Feuraxia consolidated himself as his successor. Casiro Pershing had many close friends in the cabinet and counsel around him, so his authority was made clear from the top down. Company interests became national interests, and military interests. Many attempted to disrupt this corpocratic regime change, including a young Oofler. But he was eliminated and life imprisoned for many years after this. In this time, the Bank of Feuraxia invaded Leasath and instated a satellite government to settle the previous regime's debts. In 1983, Novikov of the Daulmarkian Peoples Republic ousted Feuraxian holdings in Noskyavia. In retaliation, Mile Yaxley of the Silver Legion (major partisan faction) convinced the board of executives to eliminate Daulmarkian influence in South Usea, with the same brutality they inflicted upon Leasath. Marundia was once again bought into the Feuraxian sphere of influence after a meagre ten years of independence. After these things had occurred, the Floral Islands saw an island hopping campaign that lasted 40 years.

The Oofsurgency of 1974
Casiro Pershing of the Bank of Feuraxia made attempts to rebuild society after a decisive period of political upheaval. However Tiberian Baalist groups in the Northern strip rallied around 'Brother Oofler' and his NLA. Sensing an opportunity, Oofler's well-organized and connected National Liberation Army (NLA) made headlines after seizing control of a military airport in the East of Feuraxia. Meanwhile, the Bank was still re-structuring the disorganized military after Sydney's passing. Without foreign backing, Oofler's army wrought havoc upon the city of Jaginlard. As this extreme disorder was a disgrace to Pershing's administration, he was ousted bound for an early retirement in Tertania. Fredrick McKinney was elected to replace him. Both sides agreed to a ceasefire not exceeding 12 months; of which would buy the Feuraxians time to re-organise. 4 months after the agreement was signed, thousands of NLA militiamen launched a surprise assault on Castillia city. This threw Feuraxia into a state of emergency, and many Castillian residents were conscripted to defend their streets from heavily armed NLA paramilitary irregulars. The battle for Castillia lasted 3 weeks, and ultimately resulted in a Bank victory after Oofler's plane was shot down by SAM batteries over the Northern strip.

The Medici Incident of 1975
Leading up to a major diplomatic standoff between the Banker Bloc and Noskyavia, Feuraxia allegedly infiltrated the Medici Empire and purchased important national assets. Once top officials in the Medici government uncovered this plot, the military was ordered to seize the compromised assets and hold all Feuraxian citizens in detention centres. The Bank of Feuraxia engaged in a heated joint air-naval standoff with the Medici Empire. An agreement was reached, and the McKinney administration withdrew from its exercises in the Medici Sea.

Invasion of Marundia
A popular ultranationalist, anti-communist personality named Mile Yaxley rallied up public opinion against Daulmark and socialist states in South Usea; most notably Marundia. With Daulmarkian forces inbound for the region, Feuraxia launched a decisive pre-emptive invasion of the country. They successfully conquered the economically important parts of Marundia in a matter of weeks. The Daulmarkian navy stationed in the Marundian capital of Port Jaleera sustained heavy losses and lost a flagship. The Feuraxo-Marundi mining company administered control of the territories for the duration of the Orphan war.

Contemporary
End of the Orphan war
In March 2022, Feuraxian troops landed in Seagate, Leasath. Within weeks, the country had been liberated after decades of foreign occupation. Shortly afterwards, the Marundian territories rebelled against Feuraxia and joined Daulmark. A coup in Usman turned the country against a Feuraxian partnership that had lasted decades. After mounting civil unrest, Feuraxian parliament was dissolved. The new Republican regime signed the Treaty of Maititi, ending the Orphan war.

Rise of Oofler
Six months after the Orphan war ended, Oofler was found alive in a black site with other high ranking Tiberian leaders in the Oofsurgency. After getting a light sentence from the high court, Oofler gathered a very large public following and contested the general election. After claiming the election was rigged, Oofler's supporters and paramilitary irregulars stormed the parliament and detained the MP's. Oofler was sworn in as president elect a day later and was granted emergency powers. He issued Combine Directive 01 which introduced a new constitution, banned political parties, and declared himself a dictator.

Foreign Relations

LoPN
On paper, Feuraxia has a very active and cooperative relationship with the League of Prosperous Nations. They have always sent a large contingent of expeditionary forces to fight in every League war since its founding. However there is an ever growing rift between them since the Ooflerist revolution in 2022. Many loud voices in Gulf's opposition cabinet despise the League and advocate for war.

Noskyavia
Noskyavia is the historic enemy of Feuraxia, and the current Mahdi Rudholm has no interest in ever fostering relations with any country in Noskyavia. They are all riffraff through and through!

South Usea
South Usea is the politically, ethnically and religiously divided sandbox which Gulf Rudholm has thrown his lot in, mainly to exploit the abundant Marundian resources and instate his legitimacy as Mahdi by fulfilling Oofler's dying wishes. It is unlikely Rudholms ambitions will stop where SUSU's ends.

Feuraxia is a melting pot of many different ethnic groups with historical backgrounds. The states of Pike Island, Haldershine and Castillia are influenced heavily by a Boerealean white Caucasoid majority. However, states such as Tiberia, Kudathsan and the Northern strip are home to a slim indigenous Tiberian majority. The Tiberian state capital of Boserilon has many large immigrant communities of Usmani, Morian, and Marundian descent. These people usually migrate to Feuraxia for high paying job opportunities and security of living. Historically Feuraxian urban centers have always been inclusive to immigrants from South Usea, but now those of the wrong religion seem to get discriminated against. Since the Ooflerist revolution, the Tiberian Baal model of society has been forced on traditionally Axonite Boerealeans. Baal society has a pyramid of social hierarchy that can only be climbed by studying the Teachings of Nepholi. Those that ascend the castes of Baal can expect more favorable treatment over those that reject Baal.

Ooflerist Baalism
Historically, Baal is a religion of Pagan roots from the Nomad tribes of South Usea. However it wasn't until the Emperor Nepholi published 'Teachings of Baal' that these Pagan gods were officially recognised in one polytheist religion. Nepholi wrote about himself as a prophet who was chosen to be the Messenger of a revelation to the world. He wrote many volumes of his teachings and sayings, that are tens of thousands of pages long. Since then, there has been the instatement of a caste system that can only be climbed by studying and interpreting Nepholi's multi-volume 'Teachings' and 'Sayings.' Wealthy families of a Baal background will send their children to Religious schools in Jebelar, Usman to be learned in the scriptures by Warlocks of Baal.

When Mahdi Oofler dissolved parliament and created the National Combine, he revealed his true identity as the Mahdi in Nepholi's teachings, whomst was raised to judge the world in accordance with the God's standards. Oolfer distributed his 'Yellow Book' into the hands of every Feuraxian citizen as the final revelation from Nepholi's spirit. This book outlined the beliefs, ideology and practices of a true modern Baalist society not yet outlined in the Teachings of Baal. The traditional Tiberian Baal culture was imposed on every other culture in Feuraxia and the 999 world.
The most extreme revelation of Ooflerism is that the world is in the end-times, and there is a limited time to redeem Avaris of uncleanliness before the Gods come to judge. So it is necessary expand outwards and forcefully subjugate outsiders so they may know Oofler's revelation and be cleansed from impurity, thereby redeeming Usea from the wrath of overseers.

Ordinary Feuraxian citizens are encouraged to swear allegiance to Oofler on a daily basis and obey his commandments. Followers of Baal are required to swear allegiance to Oofler and obey his commandments.
