Weekly RP Update (March 28th, 2021)

by Minor RP Correspondent Basically mini america

This Layem roleplay update was written on the 27th of March, 2021. Things may have changed by the time you're reading this.

Another week has passed, this time with the added combination of AGPA (Artificially Generated Player Activity) stemming from a series of proclamations made by RPer MEE69 on the discord, threatening the Spanish, Austrians, and several others with war if they did not start some wars and give him interesting things to put on the RP update.

First off, we have a big one. The German situation flip-flopped greatly this week, with the two rival powers, Pomerania and Austria, led by Hua and jtovar respectively, fighting each other in the context of Pomerania helping its ally Poland secure colonial ambitions in Texas. This conflict resulted in the massacre of the colonists that Austria had sent to the new world while their navy was harassed at sea, ending the conflict shortly afterward.

Then, as Poland under the aforementioned MEE69 (Yours truly) and Pomerania finished up the conflict in Brandenburg against Lord Stark; Austria first offered to aid Brandenburg, but as the war situation got progressively worse, especially when the Poles utterly crushed the Brandenburger relief army attempting to break through the siege, they then began offering to mediate the peace.

However, their offers were rejected, and with Europe getting a taste of the full power of the Gdynia Concord, many in Austria would fear the same happening in their own country and offer an olive branch of unification. This resulted in the new German Commonwealth, which remained allies with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and soon the Concord forsook Russia in favor of adding another Commonwealth to the Concord, in the form of the Northern Italian Commonwealth; led by Creepy Potato; also more commonly known as Baaas, who had originally been Genoa.

Meanwhile, in the midst of all of this fun, the Persians are making one hell of a living selling and buying wares, despite their inconspicuous positions, the goods which they have to offer were enticing enough for almost every European power to begin trading through the Hormuz, giving an intense spike in naval activity as the region becomes highly strategic if one wanted to maintain access to the lucrative trading market of the gulf. Persia, led by A Human Being; also more commonly known as Krm, or as his WA alt, Eretnid, is getting wealthy and powerful and appears to be gearing up for potential conflicts, given hints of rearmament of the military following a devastating civil war years ago.

Meanwhile, in France, the Kingdom of France, under Huniko; would begin the further reconquest of their former realm prior to the ‘great collapse’ of the 1580s, which resulted in multiple major western European powers fracturing in a period of political destabilization. This time, they would target the Kingdom of Occitania, which had occupied the southern part of the French nation for almost a century now, but faces doubts as to their continued survival, especially as French forces pour south, with English and Spanish help, as well as limited diplomatic support from the Poles.

Even as Europe was having a fun time, out west in the Americas, the Colony of Louisiana under Person has begun its expansion, including population and territorial growth, looking sure to be a powerhouse within future decades. Meanwhile, English colonialism stagnated without an RPer, resulting in a very minute set of colonies even as the 1680s rolled around, without much war or conquest occurring either. It would appear as though the English powerhouse has stagnated. Will somebody finally step up to bring England up to its historical height in terms of naval and colonial power, or will they keep falling into the deep, dark abyss of irrelevance?

Stay tuned for next time, ladies and gents! This week has been an extremely eventful one, and it is in my hopes that weeks like these will continue coming through.
