Highermoonian companies (government & public)

New Highermoon has a hybrid economic system, it is a mix between a decentralised nationally owned economy and a socialist market economy. Government companies own monopolies on essential areas such as drinking water, food, housing, electricity, healthcare, transport and internet in order to keep prices low/free. Nationalised companies are still present in other markets, but also allow collectives to compete.

Collectives are companies which are not government owned, they do have to adhere to very strict rules however. A collective which breaks anti-monopoly laws, anti-pollution laws or labour laws (bosses and managers have to be elected or absent, workers cannot work more than 4 hours and 4 days per week, workers cannot be younger than 16.) will be fined harshly. This means that the government still exercises control over the companies.

The two most succesfull government owned companies are:
Deltanocta International transportation
Deltanocta is a nationalised company which is almost fully government funded to make sure transport remains free for all citizens. Deltanocta is currently investing in high speed rail networks all across the country, in addition to the regular speed rail and buses. Deltanocta is the most famous and efficient New Highermoon.

Astrad electrics
Astrad is a national company which provides electricity and electric appliances. 87.32% of their electric output is nuclear power, and the rest is a mix between hydro-electric power and biomass energy. Due to the absence of competition an average month of electricity use for a 3 member family is a ~ 4.56 kr.

a famous non-government owned company is:
Inostya information & entertainment cooperative
Inostya information & entertainment designs a large share of Highermoonian games on digital systems in new highermoon. their Playprism is famously a very solid system with very solid games, most playprism games are famous for their amazing story and okay controls.

They also construct software across the entire nation, from industrial factory systems to home computers to some of the biggest social media websites. Inostya was founded in 1997 and has since grew to be a very prestigious company, the budget has increased from 290kr. per month in 1998 to 9 million kr. in 2022.

Playprism has been in a competition with Crystalcube (tm) since 2001, with fans online argueing which one is best.

Most games are community made but Inostya itself made some games themself
Superhyperdisco - a game where you play as a police detective in 1952 Irencliffe, you have to escape the city of Tyrant's summit before the borders close, while you play your environment become more radical right-wing, it is a game that shows how easy it is to fall into radical right wing ideologies. It is forbidden in some countries for the hanging scene, and forbidden in Irenfell for the Gay kiss scene.

The garden - In the garden you follow a story an anthropomorphic cat boy called Anatoya who is looking for his mother. The game was lauded for it's deep and interesting characters, such as Hypnatay, the god of sleep, and the narrator. and for the ambient world and cities which truly feel alive, some of which feel moving, others are moving. and the many, many secrets which built up a rich lore, the combat system on the other hand was hated almost universally
