The Minotaurs: N-Day⁷ Guide

The Minotaurs: N-Day7 guide

What is N-Day?

N-Day is an annual event involving nations launching fiery death at each other. Nations are organised into Factions. Nations can launch Nukes at nations in other factions, and use Shields to protect their faction-mates from nukes launched by enemies. Nations generate Production every 2 minutes (up to a cap of 50, and only while the nation is in a Faction), which they can use to buy Nukes and Shields.

What are Specialists?

Each nation is assigned one of four Specialist roles, randomly:
  • Military specialists get Nukes cheaper,

  • Strategic specialists get Shields cheaper,

  • Economic specialists can accumulate more production (200),

  • Intel specialists can launch Nukes faster.

How do we win?

Our faction gets a point for every Nuke that successfully strikes another faction, and loses a point for each Nuke that successfully strikes us. Further, nations that get nuked get a 1% production penalty for every Nuke that hits them. So, if you get hit by 100 Nukes, your nation is dead.

Basically, hit other factions (and hope or ensure they don't shield themselves), and shield our faction from strikes.

What do I do?
  1. Join our Discord server to get orders and to chat with other members.

  2. Join your nations to our faction: The Minotaurs. You may (and should) use any number of puppets, but all should be at least a few days old (12 million population).
Once you join, you will begin getting Production. Keep it in store -- it can be instantly converted into Nukes or Shields.
Note that, once you join a faction, enemies are able to target you with Nukes. If you have a target on your nation -- even if it hasn't been launched -- your nation is stuck in the faction and cannot leave. Nations who are outside the faction cannot be targeted. It is advisable to leave the faction if you will be away for an extended period of time. Try to stockpile Production before doing so, then you will be able to jump straight back into it later.

  3. Convert your Production into Nukes or Shields according to the general instructions below -- but check orders in Discord first.

    • Military - Nukes only

    • Strategic - Shields only

    • Economic - Generally Nukes, but switch to Shields if we are under large-scale attack, or if ordered.

    • Intel - Nukes only

Our strategy (whom to target, when to leave)
  • Do not target any faction we have an alliance/non-aggression pact (NAP) with.

  • Do not target any of the huge factions (Potato, CARD, Horsemen, etc.) unless ordered.

  • Target any faction we officially order you to target.

  • If you can wipe out a small faction, do so. But make sure they aren't a huge faction or part of one.

  • Shield incoming nukes whenever possible.

  • If we have less nations in the faction, we reduce the target surface for enemies. So, if there is a risk of mass targeting by a big faction, and we can't defend, leave the faction quickly with all your nations. We can rejoin later when the situation is safer, rather than getting a massive negative score from the bombardment of hundreds of nations.

How to attack with Nukes
  1. Convert your Production to Nukes (click on Production on your Nuke page).

  2. Find factions to hit. If there is no official target, choose ones with few members and from small regions.

  3. On the faction's page, look at the nation list and choose a nation at random (that isn't already destroyed). Click on the nation and target it. You can target a single nation with lots of Nukes at once.

  4. Wait for 10 minutes (3 minutes for Intel specialists).

  5. On your Nuke page, go to Targeted and hit "LAUNCH". It's then out of your hands -- your Nukes will be in the air and will reach your target in 3-5 minutes, if not destroyed by then.

How to defend with Shields
  1. Convert your Production to Shields (click on Production on your Nuke page).

  2. Go to our faction page. If there are any Incoming Nukes, click on that.

  3. Destroy the incoming Nukes with your Shields. Prioritise the ones which were launched earlier, since those are close to landing.

  4. If there are no Incoming Nukes, keep the Shields in stock. Keep an eye on the Targeted Nukes, as those may be launched soon.
