North Polean House Architecture

These houses were used by the majority of the Inuit in Greenland. This image shows the interior of the house which was built with whalebone then it would be covered with animal skin.
Stone Igloos


These Igloos were inspired by Qaanaaq Inuits and later contact with the Norse made of stone in the 1390s.
North Polean Renaissance Houses




North Polean Renaissance Houses were apart of the Renaissance with the same name that started in the 1440-1580. These houses combined Inuit and Norse architecture. Some of these houses were made of concrete and the roof was made of stone (top picture, but usually without trees planted nearby). Others were made completely out of stone (bottom three picture, also usually without trees). These houses would look like two or more houses but connected. This was because multiple people would work on these houses and they found making two small ones separately but connecting them faster to build. Stone versions of these houses were the most common. People are trying to revive it and there are towns and villages thar use it.
Modern Houses


Modern houses that came to be in the 1800s and are made of wood and usually colored in paint. People color these houses in all types of different colors. These houses are built on platforms a lot of the time.
