XKI Considering Constitutional Correction
The following article was buried on page 4 of the Pantso Daily Tribune, a local paper read primarily by the tinfoil-hat wearing set:Following months of secret negotiations, back-room deals, and whispered conversations with shadowy figures, The 1000 Islands "Council of Nine" has published a proposal for a Constitutional Amendment for the region. Purportedly written by the XKI World Assembly delegate Lenlyvit, it supposedly addresses an obscure rule hidden deep in the Constitution that concerns eligibility for the Delegate position. We interviewed Pantso's own President Rosie Leggings to get the "sus" on the matter:
President Rosie Leggings: Actually, this is part of the XKI Amendment process, where citizens may propose a constitutional amendment and then seek the endorsement of XKI citizens. Once it has ten endorsements it goes before the Council. If three-fourths of the Council votes in favor, the amendment is ratified.
PDT: So if I understand you correctly, Lenlyvit needs the support of XKI citizens in order to pass this nefarious amendment. No doubt he's been wheeling and dealing, calling in favors . . .
RL: (chuckles) Well not that I know of. If he has been, he hasn't yet gotten around to talking to *me* about it. He did post on the regional message board yesterday seeking endorsements from the public.
PDT: The public?! So he's trying to get endorsements from *anyone*?! He must be desperate to wrap up this power grab so he can solidify his position . . .
RL: Woah, woah woah! Hold on there. That's a pretty loaded question . . .
PDT: What do you mean?
RL: Well first off, per the XKI Constitution any XKI resident who is also a member of the World Assembly may endorse the amendment. I'm sure Lenlyvit merely wanted to cast a wide net. And have you actually *read* the amendment?
PDT: Well, no . . .
RL: Perhaps you should. And endorse it yourself, if you agree with it.
PDT: That's all the time we have today, Madame President. Thank you for speaking with us.
RL: Thank you.
There you have it, our own President shilling for the XKI Council, as usual. You can see for yourself what Lenlyvit plans to unleash on us here: , although you need to be registered on the forums as an XKI citizen and WA member to view it.
