To: All residents of the 10,000 Islands and A Taco Paradise

Greetings Islanders! This is the first of (hopefully many) regular telegrams about upcoming events in the region. The goal is to inform all our residents of news, contests, important dates, etc. There's a lot to get through this month, so I'll skip the clever wordplay, hilarious references, and . . . other . . . fun stuff I guess and get right to it.

Upcoming Events:
All July: Senate Elections are coming up! Candidacy opens up July 4 and will remain open for a week, after which voting will be open for a week. The two Senate positions open are Lyonesse East and Himes West. The current Senators in those positions are Keswickholt and AxeCapital. Their responsibilities are detailed here: https://10000islands.proboards.com/thread/17871/job-responsibilities-senators. If you are interested in running for Senator, you have a week to declare yourself here: https://10000islands.proboards.com/board/118/10000-islands-election-board. Candidates and voters must be citizens of the 10,000 Islands and you must be registered on the forum. Voting will start on the 11th.

July 4: Kanta Hame Day! This day honors our own famous (or infamous in some circles) Kanta Hame, the TITO Knight who has earned more battlestars than any other knight in XKI history. If you see him on Discord or the RMB, don't forget to say "Hi", or "Congratulations", or "Kanta Hame, how can I join TITO and clothe myself in fame and glory as you have?"

July 30: Empire of Power Defense Day! This event is one of the most important in XKI history, as it marks both the successful defense of our region against the Empire of Power, a region five times our size, as well as the founding of the Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO). News:
Chief Executive Markanite's recruitment drive continues and he is still seeking volunteers amongst our citizens for a special mission. If you are a member of the World Assembly and want to see what all the fuss is about, please send him a telegram. All the cool kids are doing it, so hurry up and bend to peer pressure!

Minister of Labor Wille-Harlia's amendment to the constitution will remain open to commentary and polling from XKI citizens until the 3rd. The amendment changes the Ministry of Labor to the Ministry of Culture. Minister of Immigration Aschente is looking both for new recruiters and also volunteers to try out a new recruitment technology. Recruiters bring new nations into the region and for their efforts are well-compensated in Tacos, the XKI regional currency. Who doesn't like tacos? You know you do.
