Ode to Victory
A tribute to the 10,000 Islands, given on Empire of Power Day this July 30, 2023

Sing, O Ancients, of the Empire of Power
That terrible region that sought to devour
Our beautiful beaches and soft summer breezes,
Our warm sandy shoals where one does as one pleases,
The region that thought we would roll over and cower.

They'd planned to come in stealth in the night
Though outnumbered we were by their terrible might.
We were given foreknowledge of their devious plot
By clever Boniventure their scouts had been caught
Stealing into our borders; they planned a coup with no fight.

But word was sent 'round by our Founder esteemed
To other regions and powers, one and all they had deemed
That the Empire of Power would have to be beaten
The Ten Thousands Islands would have to remain uneaten
So they treatied together, a Defense with vigor they schemed.

Defenders poured 'round from the regions of TITO
The Empire, repulsed, its plans exposed and torpedo'd,
Decided to call it a day and retreat
But we said it is insufficient to merely defeat
Such a dangerous threat; instead its life we would veto.

Empire of Power now exists as our trophy
Its repute just a smidge of a hair ov'r E. Coli
The Ten Thousand Islands thanks its allies and knights
For victory, for honor, and for Defending our rights
May the our thousands of nations be forever worthy.

Hail Ten Thousand Islands! Hail TITO! Hail Defenders far and wide!
When raiders attack know that they'll turn the tide.
Tell of the champions of today and from yore,
Salute and honor them in story and lore,
Have faith that our heroes serve always with pride.

Sing, O Newcomers, of the Ten Thousand Islands,
Of TITO and Grub and the coast-watching Sirens,
The sweet serene sunrise, our strong friends and allies,
Ever watchful and guarding 'gainst dark enterprise,
Keep safe our famed beaches and pastel horizons.
