The polls closed last night at 7:00 PM with unsurprising results for the two senate races;
Pantso received 27 votes in favor and 2 abstentions, while 
Kaltovar received 26 votes in favor with 2 abstentions. Pantso has already opened 
an office in the Council headquarters, while rumor has it Kaltovar is immersed in catching up with Council business and procedure. 
Astrobolt defeated 
Jabberwocky in the Delegate campaign by four votes (19-15), a lead he took early and maintained for most of the election week. Astrobolt congratulated the new Senators and his opponent on Discord following the closing of the polls, while this morning Jabberwocky posted messages to his opponent on the forum and RMB, conceding the race. His comments are here.
Chief of Staff, his Excellency 
Lenlyvit has requested that all World Assembly nations endorse Astrobolt as soon as possible, while retaining their endorsement of him. This will ensure that the Delegate position is kept safe from attempted raids and that the official Delegate handoff happens on schedule.

Only a few days are left to vote and the race for Delegate remains close, with
Astrobolt maintaining a narrow lead over Jabberwocky. Both have been fielding questions from Porflox concerning their plans and positions concerning the Blue Canaria North (BCN) senator position, a Foreign Affairs committee, and an endoswapping tool. You can read about these plans and discussions on the candidates' campaign threads here for Jabberwocky and here for Astrobolt. Pantso and Kaltovar, each running unopposed for the Blue Canaria North and New Republica South senatorial positions, respectively, have accrued comfortable numbers in their favor but your votes are still valued and appreciated. Vote to support them, or click "I decline to vote for . . . " if you feel otherwise.

Over the weekend two eligible Islanders declared their candidacy for the position of Delegate -
Astrobolt and Jabberwocky. Both have served admirably in TITO and have been members of XKI for years, holding various positions in the military and civilian branches of XKI government. Astrobolt's experience includes foreign affairs as the former FA Secretary, recruiting, the cards co-op and RP; while Jabberwocky is the current Mayor of Taco Island, Steward of the House of Defenders, and Emissary to the Wintreath, European Union, and Capitalist Paradise. He is also a former Senator of New Republica South. While neither took the opportunity to promote their candidacy aside from a statement of their desire to run, the Islands look forward to hearing them make their arguments.For the Senate races, Pantso and Kaltovar, both of the House of the Sword, are each uncontested in their bids for Senator of Blue Canaria North and New Republica South.
At the time of this writing there are still a few hours for eligible Islanders to declare their candidacy for Delegate or one of the two Senate positions.
Voting will begin on the 12th and will be conducted for one week. Once the polls are available the URLs to the voting threads will be posted on the RMB of 10,000 Islands and A Taco Paradise, as well as in the General channel on Discord. All citizens - residents of XKI or ATP who are in the World Assembly - who have registered on the Proboards forum - are eligible and encouraged to vote.
As
Lenlyvit, of House of the Defenders, steps down from the Delegate position he will be taking up the mantle of both Governor of A Taco Paradise and Chief of Staff of 10,000 Islands, making him Successor to 
Markanite. As Chief of Staff, Lenlyvit will be responsible for filling vacancies in the government offices, engaging office holders, and scouting for TITO. As Governor of ATP Lenlyvit's primary duties will include recruiting for the frontier and working with TITO Command to keep it secure. Congratulate Lenlyvit on his Chief of Staff role here and discuss whether his new title as Governor is "The Honorable" or "Excellency" here
After an exhaustive search for the new Master of Tacos position, Markanite has tapped up and comer
Spratly Islands, Steward of House of the Sword, to take on the role. As Master of Tacos, Spratly Islands will be responsible for the wages of XKI government officials and employees as well as work with the Regional Reserve to make sure the region's Taco economy keeps humming. Be sure to congratulate her if you see her on the RMB or at House of the Sword headquarters!
Kanta Hame, of House of the Sword, is stepping down from command after a long and distinguished tour of duty as TITO Field Commander. He will remain in TITO as a Tactical Officer. Markanite had this to say about Kanta Hame's service:"Kanta Hame is a defender who is beyond compare, breaking record after record in his endless commitment to freedom and defenderdom. I can think of no one more worthy of the 10000 Islands Medal of Honor than him. Please join me in congratulating and thanking Kanta Hame!"
Kanta Hame is succeeded by 
Flying Eagles, of the House of Wordiness, who has served in TITO as Tactical Officer for years and will now assume the role of Field Commander. When asked about his new role, Flying Eagles stated "I'm incredibly honoured to follow in the footsteps of legends like former Field Commander Kanta Hame and can't wait to continue working with him, the rest of the Tactical Officers, the Knights and the rest of the troops along with our allies to defend the regions of NS".
He will be assisted by Chief Executive Emeritus 
Woonsocket, also from the House of Wordiness, who will return to TITO Command as Expeditionary Force Tactical Officer.

The Delegate straw poll has been closed and the results posted here. The straw poll results show initial support for eligible Islanders but candidates will still have to make their case to win votes. Any Islander interested in the running for Delegate should check out the eligibility requirements here and Delegate responsibilities before declaring their candidacy.
In related news, Pantso and Kaltovar have officially declared their candidacy for the Senate seats of Blue Canaria North and New Republica South, respectively. Islanders wishing to run against them only have a few more days to declare, else they will run unopposed.
Nations interested in any position can find additional information and declare their candidacy on the election board. Any questions about the election process can be directed to the RMB, Discord, or directly to 
Liberdon or Markanite.

Delegate Race
The September election season kicked off on Sunday with Liberdon's announcement of the Delegate Straw Poll, followed shortly by
Lenlyvit's announcement that he will not be seeking reelection as our WA Delegate. While we are sad to see Lenlyvit step down from the role where he served so admirably, this leaves the field wide open. The Delegate Straw Poll will help candidates determine how much support they have before attempting to run. If there is an Islander you'd like to see vote for, tell Liberdon! All citizens of the 10,000 Islands get three votes in the straw poll. Candidates will be told the results (although not individual votes) and then may declare whether they are running.See Liberdon's post here for more information about how to vote in the straw poll, candidate eligibility, etc.

Senate Races
This month we are also holding elections for two Senate seats: that of Blue Canaria North, responsible for producing the XKI Monthly Report which is sent to allied and friendly regions, and New Republica South, who runs debates and, as above, the Delegate Straw Poll. The current Senator for New Republica South is Liberdon and Blue Canaria North is currently occupied by Pantso, who was appointed to serve the remainder of The Cavalier Knight's post following their resignation and departure from the region. Any XKI Citizen who has been in the region at least 30 days is eligible to hold either post.

To declare your candidacy for Delegate or either Senate position, post on the Election Board. Those interested in the Delegate position may wish to wait until the results of the Straw Poll, which closes on the 8th. There will be one week allotted to declare candidacy for the Senate positions, following a week to vote. You must be a citizen of XKI (a resident of 10,000 Islands or A Taco Paradise) and be in the World Assembly.
