New Rogernomics for First Citizen (PM) of Lazarus

First Citizen (PM) Platform
What I would plan to do...

Regional Guard
  • Work with the Assembly to establish a stronghold with the idea of turning it into a frontier

  • Establish the regional guard as a functional military to defend the stronghold or frontier, and support treaty allies

  • Establish a frontier/stronghold militia under the leadership of the regional guard minister

Foreign Affairs
  • Look towards other GCRs for improving relations, which would likely include The Rejected Realms or The South Pacific

  • Review our UCR relations and see where Lazarus could establish new ties or improve upon existing ones

  • Establish an ambassador training program to fill personnel gaps in the foreign affairs ministry

Internal Affairs
  • Work to make citizenship more attractive

  • Appoint a deputy minister to help welcome new nations

  • Establish a buddy or mentorship program for new citizens

  • Begin to establish official role play events run by the government

  • Hold festivals with our treaty partners and friends, and preferably more often

  • Look towards the idea of more resident representation

  • Establish in-game poll-based elections of resident nations to appoint regional representatives, who would have poll powers

This is the announcement of my candidacy for the office of First Citizen or Prime Minister of Lazarus.

I have decided to run again in order to fulfill the aims of my past administration, as well as the aims of the last First Citizen. I believe that we need to get our regional guard established and up and running, and that it needs to have a purpose to role to play to keep it active, and if Lazarus were to formally establish a frontier or stronghold, it would finally have that full time purpose. Though the regional guard could do more than that, it could support our treaty allies and friends, and it could allow Lazarus to participate in missions that encourage more Lazarenes to join it.

The further aim of my administration would be to encourage residents to take up citizenship, and to get involved in our government if they would like an extra challenge. To that purpose, I will be seeking to make citizenship more attractive, and I would like to appoint someone to welcome nations to the region, as I did last time. Though likely though the Internal Affairs department, through appointing a deputy minister. This would allow a focus on building our numbers of citizens, and with luck more active elections and engagement with the government in the Assembly into the future.

Foreign Affairs would then by my next focus, as Lazarus could still work harder to improve relations with existing allied and friendly regions, as well as look to see if UCR regions would be willing to engage more with us and establish stronger ties. As far as Game Created Regions are concerned, we have not explored or looked into The South Pacific - Lazarus relations or The Rejected Realms - Lazarus relations. Though perhaps the establishment of functional regional military would allow engagement with those regions, if treaty changes are not likely. There are also new UCR regions that we have not engaged much with, as well as older UCR regions, and I would look towards engagement with both these types of UCRs as well.

Lazarus also has an issue with internal activity, such as with festivals, participation in government, and role-playing, and how much our residents are involved in the region. It is going to be a goal for sure during my administration to address these challenges and to find a solution, and that solution begins with welcoming new nations and establishing some sort of buddy or mentorship program for new citizens. It is likely to be a good idea as well to start up official government backed role play events, and to look towards having resident representatives, perhaps even in-game poll based elections and give them certain regional officer powers such as poll powers.

The next thing I would like to talk about is more about starting a regional discussion than anything else specific. This discussion would be about where from here as a region. Lazarus needs to decide whether it approaches raiding and defending from the position of rigid neutrality or from the position of supporting regional allies and friends regardless of our neutrality.

It is plausible that Lazarus could raid or defend, though to maintain our neutrality we couldn't favor perpetually one side over the other. Though having a look at the wars spreading through the game, and the reality that our allies and friends are clearly on the neutral to defender side of the spectrum, it could not be easy for Lazarus to raid, except in terms of an operation of our design such as a tag raid organized only by Lazarus.

What regions would we target to defend or raid would be the next step, and I believe that there is an answer to that question that Lazarenes would likely respect. That answer would be that we defend those that deserve it or need it, and not raid regions that have active and viable communities trying to get ahead in the game.

Lazarus will also need to start brainstorming on what sort of frontier or stronghold we might want to have, which was something that occurred during the term of First Citizen McChimp (or Custadia). This should be a different theme than Lazarus I think, but not so extreme as to make them too different.

Finally, it looks like I will be running alone this time around, and against that poor fellow abstain, the one that runs every election but doesn't seem to get a break. Best of luck to them I guess...but I am pretty sure I'm going to win!

That's all folks, from the cat that might fix it...or eat all your fish and catnip!

Definitely not me after I win...again
