A combined force of Defenders struck at Solidarity on October 1 in Operation Red October, the largest anti-raider offensive in history. After several weeks of battle the Defenders had complete control and began to convert to a Defender stronghold. The offensive force included The League's Defense Forces, The Order of the Grey Wardens, TITO, The Europeian Republican Navy, the North Pacific Army, the Balder Jomsvikings, and over a dozen other organizations. Working together these organizations achieved a record-breaking "pile", which at its peak massed 208 endorsements for the Defender commander Rhaza.
The attack on Solidarity came after a series of raids by The Communist Bloc and Brotherhood of Malice on The North Pacific and is allies, including one which managed to tip the Delegate position. The North Pacific declared war as a result and other Defender militaries joined to assist, including our own TITO (Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization). Solidarity was chosen for the attack because it had been a frontier for NSLeft and a recruiting ground for People's Republic Air Force, a raider military associated with The Communist Bloc. With this frontier now shuttered, TCB and BoM's ability to increase the size of their militaries has been substantially limited and a message sent that their raids will no longer be tolerated.
Following the victory, Europeia's President JayDee II released this statement summarizing the action and honoring Rhaza/Quebecshire, who led the attack:
On October 1st, Operation Red October was revealed to the world. Today we mark the beginning of the end of Solidarity as it has now been locked and begun its transition to Stronghold. With this victory, our coalition of forces against Raider Unity has struck the first blow of the war and sent a clear message to any who seek to destroy us; Europeia and her allies will not go gently. They begged and pleaded for war and now have shown their hand to be incapable of answering against our forces.
Solidarity was formerly a Frontier utilized as a joint region for the entire NSLeft community, however it also served as a recruiting source of The Communist Bloc’s military and was a part of their piling force. TCB has utilized their military force for hostile operations such as the recent Delegate-tip of The North Pacific and other operations violating the sovereignty of innocent regions. They have decried our action with one hand while they hold their knife in the other, ready to strike at any weakness they believe they can exploit.
This operation could not have been possible without the incredible work and organization by Quebecshire. He has been a steady and strong friend of Europeia for years now and his leadership in The League and Concord has brought our two regions into a strong bond of friendship and mutual respect.
For his years of partnership, assistance, and for his leadership in Operation Red October, I am honored to award Quebecshire with the first Order of Eos. I can think of few more worthy than him to be the first recipient of this award!

TITO (Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization) is 10000 Islands' very own defender army! TITO provides for the defense of our region, as well as going out to help defend other regions in NationStates that are attacked unfairly.
Invaders attempt to capture the WA Delegacy of regions, predominantly founderless regions, and seize control. They then damage the region by frequently ousting democratically elected government officials and regional leaders, ejecting or banning native nations, and often holding the region captive over long periods. To stop this, we work to help counteract their actions and ultimately defeat the invaders.
Sounds easy? Defenders have to follow specific orders, and in perfect coordination. Each mission is unique and with the very future of a whole region on the line, that can be intense!
TITO has helped thousands and thousands of regions in our time and we wish to ensure that all regions can thrive in peace, free from invader harassment.
That is where YOU come in!
TITO is always seeking those who share our values and who want to help other regions in peril. Applicants to TITO will receive patient training by expert defenders, at a pace that is workable for you. And don't worry! Contrary to what you might believe, participating in TITO won't take a lot of your time! There's two "updates" each day where vulnerable regions are at most risk of being invaded, and even then, you can participate in them whenever you want to. What if you can't join us either update? Then don't worry! You can join the TITO Expeditionary Force, which operates outside these updates. Within a few days of joining TITO, you will be learning the skills, and making a very real contribution to the security and stability of the NS community.

After a security check, and consideration by TITO Command, you will be informed of your admittance to TITO or rejection of it. If admitted, you will be joining a dynamic and historic community of defenders. We support each other, our region, and the wider NS world.
TITO, the Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization, stands to defeat aggression in the NationStates world by defeating groups or regions that attack innocent regions.
Any region that attacks an innocent region is an enemy of TITO and the 10000 Islands. The attacking of innocent regions is a cowardly and dishonorable practice. TITO stands up for the innocent regions of this game and will assist these regions by whatever means necessary, in accordance with NationStates rules.
TITO cannot and will not defend every region in NationStates, but when a region is unjustly invaded, not only will we hold the option of defending that region in whatever manner we see fit, but we also hold the option of attacking the attacking regions homeland itself.
TITO and the 10000 Islands seeks to live in peace with all regions in NationStates, but we will not back down to the those that wish to impose their will on innocent regions.
This is a warning to all regions that engage in the practice of region crashing -- if we haven't heard of you yet, we will. If we haven't stopped you yet, we will, and if you haven't felt our presence in your homeland yet, you will. There are ways to make life difficult for those regions that wish to oppress others. If you attack innocent regions, beware TITO. Long live freedom, long live the 10000 Islands and long live TITO!

Scary Story Sharing:

Halloween Scavenger Hunt:
On our forum, Chief Executive Markanite will run a Halloween scavenger hunt. Pumpkins will appear on forum pages, and you click them to collect them. At the end of the scavenger hunt, the winner will receive a large amount of Tacos! So, go register and explore our forum! More details will be forthcoming.
Z-Day:
Starting in eight hours, the Z-Day event will begin on NationStates, and the horde of zombies will be unleashed onto the NS world for a time. Join us on our Discord to participate in our efforts to curb and cure the horde, or join 10000 Zombies if you would like to embrace the horde!
Costume Party:
To celebrate Halloween, we are throwing a costume party! Just change your nation's flag to something spooky and join the fun!
This November the 10,000 Islands will have elections for two Council of Nine positions; the Senators for Himes West and Lyonesse East. Starting the second full week of the month there will be one week to declare candidacy, followed by a week to vote. All 10,000 Islands Citizens are eligible to run and vote. As voting takes place on the offsite forum, citizens must register and confirm their registration prior to the start of voting. Citizens are residents of XKI or its subordinate regions (such as A Taco Paradise) who are or also have a nation in an XKI region that is a member of the World Assembly.
Himes West is responsible for the XKI RP communities on A Taco Archipelago and A Taco Fantasy, as well as hiring and managing RP Commissioners and running RP events. The current incumbent is 
Haivon. Lyonesse East, currently occupied by 
Keswickholt, is responsible for managing the XKI Houses and House Competitions. Both Senator positions are on XKI's ruling body, the Council of Nine. As such they vote on legislation, embassy openings and closures, and discuss other matters as requested by Chief Executive Markanite.

The House Cup competition has drawn to a close. This month-long competition was a chance to prove their recruiting abilities and bring new members into XKI and their own Houses. This year the competition was unusual in that the Houses, newly reformed and needing new nations, were encouraged to recruit from existing but House-less XKI residents. Keswickholt, Senator for Lyonnesse East and responsible for the Houses, has combed the records from the past month to determine the winners.
The winner of the House Cup Competition is the House of the Sword, which expanded its membership roll by nearly 50% during the course of the competition. Keswickholt had this to say concerning the results:
"The competition may be over for now, however this shouldn't stop those who want to join the Houses from doing so and prevent those in the Houses of XKI from recruiting new members.
My aim for my tenure in my role as the Senator for Lyonesse East is to increase the involvement of the Houses as part of the culture of XKI and to increase engagement across all our platforms and to utilise the RMB more".

We are certain the House of the Sword, at least, intends to continue recruitment. The Great Houses of the 10,000 Islands can be found on the offsite forums here. New nations, as well as old nations not currently in a House, are encouraged to join the House of the individual who recruited them to the region, or to choose one if they joined on their own accord. Nations in a House can find mutual support, conversation, games and contests, and meet new and interesting people.

The 10,000 Islands declared war on Lone Wolves United on Friday, October 6, in conjunction with The League and Concord, Europeia, and Balder. The war declaration follows two years of antagonism by LWU, culminating in repeated attacks on the sovereign territories of the signatories. Chief Executive Markanite posted this dispatch:

In related news, Kanta Hame has retired from as TITO Field Commander and has been succeeded by Flying Eagles, a well-respected Tactical Officer who has served TITO well for years. ~Spratly Islands has taken on the Master of Tacos role. The Master of Tacos will ensure that all XKI officials receive their monthly Taco stipend. This newly created position spins off some of the responsibilities from the old Minister of Labor post, following a constitutional amendment to change that role into the new Minister of Culture.
~ Pantso officially took on the BCN position following his election in September. His office is open; feel free to stop to say hello and talk about upcoming legislation, the emissary report, plans for the future, or anything else.
~ Vivolkha has been tapped to take up the NRS Senator position following Kaltovar’s election and subsequent exit from the region. Vivolkha will serve until November, when there will be a special election for the role alongside the elections for the Himes West and Lyonnesse East Senate positions.
~ Astrobolt successfully took on the Delegacy after the noon update on October 7 after defeating contender Jabberwocky in the September election and a short campaign to bolster his endorsements. The announcement was met with widespread and heartfelt congratulations and well-wishing.
~Islanders continue to assist in bringing the security of our new frontier region, A Taco Paradise, up to snuff and the effort is ongoing. Recent raids on ATP and other frontier regions have highlighted the need to make sure there are sufficient defenders available to make sure ATP will be safe before its official transition to a frontier.
~ Lenlyvit has been appointed Governor of A Taco Paradise; this transition is ongoing at the time of this writing. As Governor, His Excellency will be responsible for recruiting and engaging nations as well as ensuring the security of the frontier. This is in addition to Lenlyvit’s role as Chief of Staff.
~ October 18 is Empire of Power Annexation Day. The Empire of Power, a raider region which attacked XKI twenty years ago and was repulsed by the region and many allies, fell after a prolonged conflict and was annexed into XKI as a miniscule region and trophy.
~ A bill on the disbursement of assets upon the closure of a political party is in the final voting stages
