With halloween ahead, the Region could poll on what they wanna do with the Zombies. Most people want to cure them, while the second most people want to fight! Last Monday, the Elections Act (2024) passed Public Referendum by a margin of two votes (19 ayes/17 nays) and became law. This new law shifts Europeian elections to an approval voting system, a significant change to Senate elections in particular, where any candidate who gains a majority of votes is elected. The change as a result removes the need for voting on the Senate size. The Elections Act has been a long-term project of Senator Rand and spun up serious political discussion throughout the region by extension, such as an additional legislation draft on adjusting run-off elections and a radio show on the new law. The next Senate general election approaches in roughly 19 days where the impacts of the law will be tested for the first time.
