whats canon
Economy:Quandaleica is not poor or average, it is instead a wealthy global power, bolstered by its large industry at home and many colonial resources to exploit. It is the 3rd most wealthy country in Eytria (fictional version of earth) and the most wealthy in its general area.
Civil and Political Rights:
While Quandaleica is authoritarian, it is not as oppressive as NS Stats say. You could say it is more of OTL Hungary today in how free it is. Segregation, however, is a fact of life and discrimination against the Dorian sect (pretty much protestantism) of Celanianism (basically christianity) is prominent.
Legislation:
Autocracy - Quandaleica is sort of mixed. Some offices are elected, while the King is a hereditary position, and he can appoint new ministers without public approval in some circumstances.
Body Integrity - Anyone above 21 may circumcize themselves, but children cannot be circumcized.
Capitalism - Some colonial companies and military-related corporations are state-owned, but aside from that you have regular old, regulated capitalism.
Conscription - Only at war.
Corporal Punishment - Prisoners must do forced labour.
Curfew - Only at war threatening the home front.
Devolution - Provinces are given autonomy, but not to an extreme extent so that the federal government exerts more power than the states.
Feudalism - Feudalism is nominally practiced alongside the province system, but this is not actually enforced. Feudal lords will only maintain titles and fancy heraldry; they do not do anything else.
Gun Control - Anyone above 21 can obtain a firearm approved by the government list with a permit.
Metricism - Imperial Metric is the mandatory measuring system in the government, and corporations are encouraged to use metric. Non-metric using organizations are subject to a small "metric tax."
Monarchy - The Quandaleican monarchy acts as the leader of the executive branch of government, which is then counterbalanced by state authorities and Parliament.
Native Representation - While legally you must have been born in Quandaleica or have lived in Quandaleica for 10 years to hold government office, this is not actually enforced unless it is for important offices (eg: minister of defense, governor of a home province, etc)
No Abortion - It's 1939, what did you expect?
No Adultery - Adultery is punishable by fines and warnings.
Public Protests - Protests can be quelled if they are violent, have extremist advocacies or happens during war-time (in some cases).
Prudism - Nudity, partial or whole, is illegal and some guidelines in certain states can go farther.
Pledge of Allegiance - Schoolchildren above age 13 are required to sing the Ode to Fatherland or God Save Quandaleica, provincial choice for which one.
Slavery - Slavery is legal in the colonies, but not in the Commonwealth itself.
Term Limits - Unless it is in wartime, term limits apply to a large number of offices, although special exceptions can be made with public approval.
